There were two notable deaths yesterday.

The first was Jack Kevorkian, “Dr.Death.”

I could care less.Unfortunately,Joe Biden won’t be able to redeem the gift certificate I sent him for a session with the good doctor.

The second passing leaves an empty place in the heart of Americans who remember when the good guys won.

James Arness,TV western icon, passed quietly at age 88.The 6’7″ tower of manhood walked down a dusty street and outdrew the faceles bad guy at the beginning of every episode.Those of us who are old enough will always remember Roy,Dale,Gene Autry,the Lone Ranger just to name a few who epitomized all that was good and moral in our culture.

Contrast that with today’s heroes.Womanizing politicians,barely-dressed women,gangs dealing drugs and death with indifference.A failed education system,decaying cities,a population stripped of hope and the ability to dream.

Rest in peace,Marshall Dillon,we’ll not see your like again.

I looked up his schedule for the past few weeks. Dunno if this is a “full” schedule for a president or not.

Every day begins with the Presidential Daily Briefing. After that …

May 16: Fly to TN about flooding. Give speech. Fly home. Shmooze with the 2011 NCAA champs. Talk at two fund raisers.

May 17: Meet with King of Jordan. Lunch with Joe. Shmooze with Jews. Meet with Secy of Defense.

May 18: Fly to CT. Speech to Coast Guard graduates. Fly to Boston for two fund raisers.

May 19: Meet with advisors. Give speech that pisses off Israel. Interview with BBC. Meet with Sec of Treasury. Go to two fund raisers.

May 20: Meet with Prime Minister of Israel. Talk to press. Speech to CIA employees.

Saturday-Sunday – Days off.

May 23 to 28: Europe for shmoozing and G-8.

Sunday-Monday – Days off.

May 31: Announce nominee for new Secy of Commerce. Meet with advisors.

June 1: Meet with Republicans. Receive annual hurricane report. Meet with advisors. Meet with Sec of State.

June 2: Meet with advisors. Meet with Democrats. Speech at Pritzker Architecture Prize event.

June 3: Fly to Toledo, OH, to tour Chrysler facility, talk to workers and fly home.

Remember back … pre-2008 … when Obama said he’d opt for public financing if his opponent did, but then when McCain did (and limited himself to the amount allowed by law), Obama suddenly decided that public financing was somehow a corrupt way of doing things and he’d go with the “clean” money that was over-flowing his campaign war chest.

Here is his latest, updated version on how to take the moral high road in campaign financing: have your mega-millionaire donors call some of their mega-millionaire donations “matching funds” for the widow’s pence donations of all the good-hearted and earnest American Voters who are no doubt unemployed and taking their precious little pence out of their welfare checks.

I’m just shivering all over with admiration for all the sensitivity and honesty and moral integrity Barack is putting into raising the billion dollars he plans to blow on his campaign. Not.

In other news …

A Grassroots Action Alert email sent me an update on the ObamaCare court case. Back when the Dems were pushing O-Care through Congress, they SWORE the individual mandate “penalties” were not new taxes.

Then they turned around and told the court that, oh wait, they ARE taxes, which makes them none of the court’s business because Congress has a constitutional right to levy taxes.

The latest update is … the DOJ has conceded that the mandates are PENALTIES after all and therefore the Fourth Circuit can and should rule on this case.

The court may rule before the end of the month, but whatever the ruling, the case is expected to be appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Also, dozens of Hollywood execs have admitted to their liberal bias on tape. (Pope also admits he’s Catholic.)

Some of TV’s top executives from the past four decades may have gotten more than they bargained for when they agreed to be interviewed for a politically charged book that was released Tuesday, because video of their controversial remarks will soon be hitting the Internet.

The book makes the case that TV industry executives, writers and producers use their clout to advance a liberal political agenda. The author bases his thesis on, among other things, 39 taped interviews that he’ll roll out piecemeal during the next three weeks.

I am reminded of the months and months of ObamaCare debating when the Left blatted that Republicans did not have a plan of their own. The Left Stream Media backed them up on their big fat lie. Republicans put forward a bunch of plans. The Democrat majority leaders refused to let any of them on to the floor.

I’m thinking if one of the Republican health care plans had ever seen the light of day, some Republicans would have voted for it. Since Democrats have the majority in the Senate, they could have passed the Obama budget plan. Instead they ALL voted NAY. So pathetic.

Budget Deal Details – Abortion funding, PP, Obamacare

The budget deal restores language that prohibits federal taxpayer funding of abortions in the nation’s capital that President Barack Obama and Democrats removed in a previous budget when they controlled both chambers of Congress. Congress had a ban on taxpayer funding for abortions in D.C. from 1996-2009. When Democrats got control of the House, the Senate and the Oval, they lifted the ban. The National Right to Life Committee says that, prior to the ban, public funds paid for more than 4,000 abortions a year in the nation’s capital.

The budget deal requires the Senate to vote on a bill the House Republicans already approved to repeal the pro-abortion Obamacare bill that contains abortion funding and rationing concerns and on revoking funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business. Both votes will force Senators coming up for re-election in 2012 to go on record about where they stand on abortion and on Obamacare.

The Senate vote on funding PP will also give pro-life advocates an opportunity to testify to all the ways PP doesn’t protect women’s health, has covered up cases of sexual abuse, and has used $363 million in annual federal funding to prop up a business that now does more than one-quarter of all abortions in the nation.
