In The Art of the Insult, candidate Trump says he would “bomb the shit out of ISIS” and that the San Bernardino shooter was a “son of a bitch,” and that Mexico would pay for the wall. Someone who speaks his mind like that, even a casual observer might think, would stand no chance of becoming President of the United States. To give away the ending, he did become president and the film helps explain the victory.

This year marks the 118th time the two teams have met. The teams meet in a neutral city between their respective academies. They often play in NFL stadiums due to the enormous number of active duty and veteran fans who wish to attend.

It appears the worst is not yet behind Al Franken. The Democratic Minnesota Senator was hit by another sexual harassment allegation on Wednesday, bringing the total up to seven.

The walls are closing in on Sen. Al Franken, with a seventh accuser stepping forward today and multiple Democrats calling for his resignation in the aftermath, including DNC chair Tom Perez and more than 20 Senators (and counting).
Franken is expected to give remarks tomorrow and, well, it’d be pretty crazy if he didn’t resign. The former SNL star’s time in public service should be drawing to a close, and provided it did, what happens next in Minnesota politics? Democratic Governor Mark Dayton is given the ability to make a “temporary appointment to fill any vacancy,” according to state law.

There are really two ways to look at this effort. One is that this attempt to impeach President Trump got slapped down hard today. The other is that there are now 58 Democrats willing to attach their names to this desperate action which their own leadership is officially against, at least for the moment. Capitol Hill police then show up to Franken’s office, demanding the group of women leave.

Case shows judges matter
“A U.S. District Court judge in Washington on Tuesday handed a big victory to President Donald Trump, ruling in favor of the administration in its bid to install White House budget director Mick Mulvaney as acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau,” Politico reported this evening.
When Trump took office, he issued two executive orders to halt travel with seven, and then six, countries. Obama appointees blocked the orders. The Supreme Court eventually stepped in and let the orders go through, unmolested.
That was judicial activism. Those Obama-nauts exceeded their authority.

Border Patrol Agent Killed While On Duty In Texas
Agent Rogelio Martinez and his partner were responding to “activity” while on patrol near Interstate 10 when both reported they had been injured and were in need of assistance, according to a statement from Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
Shortly after CBP confirmed Martinez’s death, President Donald Trump said the incident showed the need for a wall along the Southwest border.

Donald Trump is a hard man to get a feeling for. A successful businessman who got into politics and went through the primaries like a cyclone in a wheat field. Stunning the world, he defeated someone who had been all but preordained as the next president and turned Capitol Hill on its ear. He has been universally opposed by the establishment of both parties. In a meeting with establishment politicians from the Problem Solvers Caucus and the Blue Dog Coalition, President Trump signaled a full-fledged cave on the issue of giving amnesty to nearly 800,000 illegal aliens currently protected by an Obama-created executive immigration program.
I would reserve thought on this as this is Democratic statement and nothing is written out. And there was no prior indication that the wall would ever be a part of this deal. Paul Ryan said there would be funding for the wall apart from this. So we’ll have to see how it all shakes out formally.

Organizer Of Protest That Left 5 Cops Dead Arrested For Felony Theft
Officers of the Dallas Police Department arrested Dominque Alexander on Thursday, the black activist that organized the 2016 anti-police protest in Dallas that left 12 officers shot and five dead.
Alexander faces charges of felony theft, stemming from a previous employer who claims the activist received payments between $2,500 and $30,000 from clients without transferring them to the company, the Dallas Observer reported.
Alexander pleaded guilty in 2009 to causing serious bodily injury to a 2-year-old and was subsequently sentenced to probation, FOX 4 Dallas reported. His repeated probation violations led to a final sentence of two years in prison in August 2016, but a judge counted his years of probation against his two-year sentence, and he spent less than a month in jail.

Green groups are discovering that Donald Trump is not the same president as Barack Obama, whose EPA routinely engaged with them in corrupt deals flavored with an excess of sugar and grease.
The EPA had been awarding millions of dollars to environmental groups that could collect the swag by filing a law suit against the agency. “When the EPA settles or loses those suits, it then awards the groups millions more in attorneys’ fees under the Equal Access to Justice Act,” Walter Olson of the Cato Institute says.

Illegal, in contrast, stars a teenage boy who is struggling to come to terms with his family’s status as illegal immigrants while also staying in school, making good grades, and dealing with puberty and all of the wonderful things that accompany being a teenager.

Former President Obama famously sneered at Congress’ right to create laws, stating that he had “a pen and a phone” and would make whatever laws he wanted. But what has been done with a pen and a phone can be undone with a pen and a phone, something now President Trump has been doing with great regularity.
The U.S. presidency was never intended to be a one-man dictatorship. People who support the overtime change and/or DACA should be screaming at their representatives in Congress to pass these as laws the right way, not at President Trump for undoing what Obama did illegally.

I have a theory which, along with a dollar will get you a cup of coffee at McDonald’s. Some think he was brought in specifically to get rid of Spicer and Priebus. As the head of the RNC, Preeby was good buddies with McConnell, Graham, Boehner, all the Nevertrumpers. It is highly likely that he was the source of some of the leaks coming from the inside.
Trump probably hired Scaramucci because he seemed like a no-nonsense type. Never mind the fact his beliefs ran counter to everything Trump ran for office on. He made it all about himself, which is not a good career move. The bombastic, grenade-throwing style was not what the president needed. He was replaced by General John Kelly, a no-nonsense career military man who demands discipline and loyalty. Word is that even Ivanka and Jared have to answer to him. Hopefully, he made a condition of his appointment that when he made a public statement, Trump wouldn’t contradict what he said an hour later.
When a regular politician of either party is elected president, they have a national organization to help establish the agenda ,including lawyers, political operatives, hangers-on, and ne’er-do-wells. Trump had none of that when he was inaugurated. The GOP elite didn’t want him and the Democrats sure as hell didn’t. Holdovers from past administrations and NeverTrumpers systematically leaked information daily in an effort to cripple his ability to get organized and begin the demands of governance.

According CNBC’s John Harwood, an anonymous “Ryan-Priebus” ally revealed to the reporter that President Trump is preparing to plot a more “independent” course for the White House, while taking on GOP lawmakers.
U.S. Senator Rand Paul said he spoke to President Donald Trump by phone about healthcare reform on Monday and told the president he thought Trump had the authority to create associations that would allow organizations to offer group health insurance plans.
Allowing groups like AARP, which represents retirees, to form health associations could enable individuals and small businesses to form larger groups to negotiate with health insurance companies for lower rates.

On Monday, Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Scaramucci was fired after his interview with The New Yorker.
Getting The Troops in Line: All White House Staff Will Report to General John Kelly
“General Kelly will bring new structure to the White House and discipline, strength and we’re all really excited to work with him,” she continued.
According to Sanders, there will be no exceptions. Senior White House advisors Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Kellyanne Conway and Steven Bannon will report to Kelly.
Since the ousting of Reince Priebus on Friday and the hiring of Kelly, questions have swirled about whether he would be able to establish a chain of command and restore order in the West Wing. He appears to be doing just that with the abrupt firing of Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci Monday afternoon, just 10-days after he was hired.
