Then I look at the stats and see that there are still a few of you who actually come here even when Chrissy hasn’t posted anything. I enjoy doing this, but as it is in life, there are good days and bad days. Your only hope is that the good outnumber the bad. I’ve seen a few facts about the race Tuesday night I will attempt to synopsize (I don’t really care if that’s a word, it just sounded good). There’s no rhyme or reason to my rants…never has been. Tammy Bruce: Republican Establishment Wants To Lose Senate Majority So Trump’s Agenda Fails
Conservative commentator Tammy Bruce, in a discussion about Alabama Republican candidate for Senate Roy Moore, said the Republican establishment want the party to lose the majority in the Senate so the Trump agenda fails. Bruce cited Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL), who announced he did not vote for Moore, and Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), who donated to the Democratic candidate Doug Jones, as examples.
“This is a test for the president,” Bruce said Tuesday on FOX News’ Hannity. “I think what you’ve seen with Shelby going against it. Jeff Flake, giving money to this guy. I think the Republicans in the Senate want to lose the Senate. I think they want the president’s agenda to fail and the only way to really achieve that is to suddenly become the minority.”

She may be spot on. The Republican elites care nothing for being in the majority. If they did, they’d have helped the president with his agenda. All they care about is getting their share of the money. It’s far easier to sit back and make false claims about what you would do if you had the power than to actually do it.

Jones can’t win the general in 2020.
The democrats got one of the heaviest black turnouts ever. They also offered cash for votes. Heavily black Montgomery County waited until all the other counties had reported before they released their totals.
Some of you may remember the close presidential race in 1960 between John Kennedy and Richard Nixon. Nixon was leading, but Mayor Daley was withholding the totals from Cook County. Whoever won Illinois won the election. He waited to see how many votes they needed to steal the election. That’s where the legend of the dead voter came from. They succeeded and the rest, as they say, is history. They’ve been getting away with it for decades and will continue to because they pay absolutely no price for it.

The big loser in Tuesday’s Alabama’s special Senate election was not the Republican Party. They had already lost weeks ago, the moment the Washington Post wrote their (carefully vetted, in this instance) exposé of the thirty-year-old sexual proclivities of Judge Roy Moore.

Why Republicans Shouldn’t Worry Too Much About Moore’s Loss
Even with the loss of a seat to Jones, Republicans still retain enough of a majority to pass whatever legislation they want, provided all 51 Republican senators vote in lockstep. Senate Republicans passed a budget in October that allows leadership to pass legislation with only 51 “yes” votes and bypass filibusters from Democrats altogether.
Jones also won’t be a factor Republicans have to consider for a number of weeks. Leadership announced Tuesday that Jones will not likely be seated until after the Christmas recess, which means Republicans will maintain their 52 seat majority while finalizing tax reform and negotiating the upcoming budget agreement.

“The Democrats finally got their narrative shifting win even if it was the result of accusing an honorable man of being a child molester and plumbing the gutters of racial demagoguery. I read somewhere or other that the term “right wing” for fascists originated in the British government, where the communists were seated on the far left while their mortal enemies, the fascists, were seated as far away from them as possible, on the far right, so as to minimize the likelihood of brawling.
But fascism truly belongs to the big government left side of the political spectrum, where top down regulations trump individual freedoms. It was invented by an Italian and was first put into practice in Italy. In brief, it is simply socialism with a national identity.
Fascism bears no resemblance to right-wing conservatism, where grass roots responsibility and individual freedoms come first and government power is carefully limited.

Melania visits sick kids for Christmas
This FLOTUS seems to have a true heart for suffering children. It seems like every time she travels, I see a story about how she visited the pediatric ward of a local hospital.
This holiday season, she visited with patients and staff at Children’s National hospital in the nation’s capital. Then-FLOTUS Bess Truman began the now-traditional practice more than 60 years ago.
Mrs. Trump answered questions from the kids and read The Polar Express to them.
- Her favorite Christmas song is “O Holy Night.”
- Her favorite family Christmas tradition is eating dinner on Christmas Eve before they attend midnight Mass or worship services on Christmas Day, followed by another family dinner. “On the 25th, Santa comes. We open the presents and spend time together.”
- Her favorite thing to eat for Christmas dinner is “healthy food. You feel very good after. Not too much eating,” she said. “The most important part is to spend time with the family.”
- Her dream Christmas destination would be to “spend my holidays on a deserted island, tropical island with my family,” she said.
It was not Mrs. Trump’s first visit to Children National. She visited earlier in the year to help prepare a “healing garden” for patients that she helped dedicate on a follow-up visit.

“A number of outlets have had to retract and change and rewrite and make editor’s note to a number of different stories,” Sanders said of the false stories being peddled by the likes of CNN, Bloomberg, and ABC. “There’s a very big difference between making honest mistakes and purposely misleading the American people.”

Democratic representative Bobby Rush is being sued for $1 million after failing to make payments on a loan he received for a church he founded in his home district in Illinois.
A wellness center linked to the church has also collected more than $2.6 million in taxpayer-funded government grants in 2017 and more than $17 million in grants since 2008, according to records.
Now, the loan Rush secured has gone delinquent, and the creditor is seeking to recoup the money through the Cook County court system. A $1.1 million judgment was issued against Rush for $542,000 in unpaid principal, $441,000 in interest, and nearly $50,000 in attorney fees.

Some Warm Feelings Just for You
All you’ll hear about today is the showdown in Alabama. All the news crews are down there, ready to preen before the camera and try to act like it’s simply reportage and not the culmination of a six week jihad to ruin a Republican senate candidate. Plenty of time for that. Consider this a sort of palate cleanser for the hard news yet to come.
This is the time of year where acts of love and compassion are most keenly felt. Like the characters in Scrooge who call on the old miser to solicit funds to buy some food and warmth for the truly needy, our own souls must be replenished to remind us that we are made by God and life is a temporary condition. Through the daily assault on our faith, our morals, and our way of life, we need reminders from time to time that God has got this. Trust in Him and we’ll be OK. This Christmas is especially joyful because Israel has a powerful new ally.

Wreaths Across America caravan begins annual journey from Maine to Arlington
The Wreaths Across America caravan departed Sunday from Columbia Falls, where the wreaths were made. It’ll travel through Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Washington D.C., before arriving in a week in Arlington, Virginia.
Medal of Honor recipient Roger Donlon and his wife Norma, seen here at a Capitol Hill reception in 2007, are the grand marshals for this year’s Wreaths Across America caravan.
The tradition began when Maine wreath maker Morrill Worcester donated 5,000 wreaths to Arlington Cemetery. This year, there will be more than 200,000 of them placed at Arlington alone. A total of 1.2 million wreaths will be placed on markers across the country in 1,238 locations.
World War II Mansfield veteran gets a boost from firefighters
WANNA SEE A REAL BADASS?
Decorated World War II veteran Walter Gilbert and his wife Mary are both 95 and still manage to live in their own home. But they have some mobility issues, including difficulty with stairs, such as the ones from their home.
About a half-dozen firefighters left their regular shift Friday morning and headed over to the couple’s West Street home to install a ramp Veterans Agent Michael Raymond was able to get for the Gilberts.
One of the reasons Gilbert needs the ramp is because of injuries to his legs he suffered in the war.
Terry said he sat down and talked to Gilbert, learning he endured about 180 days of combat, and was wounded twice. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge where he took shrapnel.
Despite his service to our country and what he went through, Gilbert is humble and gracious for the support from the town.
When told he deserved it after his service he said, “Well I don’t know about that.”

The ring survived and was discovered amongst the shattered plane in New Guinea 40 years ago. It was returned recently to Greebull’s wife who hasn’t forgotten her love for him–not at all.

The proportion of mothers who are unmarried is at 40 percent, up from five percent in 1960; two-thirds of first births to women under 30 are to unwed women. Determining why out-of-wedlock pregnancy and birth has spiked is the subject of a new report, released Monday, from the Social Capital Project.
Between the early 1950s and the late 2000s, the proportion of births from unwed pregnancies increased from 10 to almost 50 percent. Similarly, the rate of births to previously unwed couples who married after conception but before birth was 43 percent in the early 1960s; it dropped steadily to nine percent in the late 2000s.
The other most significant factor is the vanishing of the so-called “shotgun marriage,” the sequence of events where a woman becomes pregnant, and then she and the father of the child are socially pressured into tying the knot.

Nativity scene with Jesus in migrant boat is not going over well
A Catholic bishop condemned a nativity scene that depicts Mary holding Jesus in a rubber boat to symbolize the plight of migrants crossing the Mediterranean.
“I’m not saying a crib cannot be enriched by other elements, and certainly, a boat is a symbol that reminds us of the need for hospitality, but don’t forget that Jesus is the savior of all problems, not just one,” Vecchi said, according to International Business Times.

84-Year-Old Korean War vet kills one home intruder in point-blank shot, sends second one running

An 84-year-old Korean War veteran killed a home intruder Friday with a single shot right to the chest, and he’s crediting God with his success. While Lutz is somewhat sore from the struggle, he has escaped without any real injuries and credits his success to his Christian faith.
“I’ve never been afraid in my life,” Lutz said. “God has always been with me, and I’m a hard believer in God and Jesus Christ, and God was with me tonight.”
Lutz is not facing any charges for his act of home self-defense.

Trump’s Beautiful Wall
Eight prototypes for President Trump’s border wall have been built by six companies and are now being physically tested for how easily someone can go over, under, or through them.
Meanwhile, in the Land of Socialist Nuts and Berries, contractors doing business with the Sanctuary City of Los Angeles are now required to disclose if they are working on Trump’s proposed border wall. It is not clear to this reporter if they will be fired or merely required to sew scarlet T’s on all their clothing.
