Late Night Hosts So Disgusted by Harvey Weinstein Scandal They Refuse to Even Mention His Name

U.S.—Since the shocking revelation last week of Hollywood boss Harvey Weinstein’s decades-long reign of habitual sexual harassment and assault on coworkers and associates, during which he allegedly paid off at least eight women to keep quiet about the abuse, a source close to the nation’s most popular late night hosts revealed that they are all so disgusted by Weinstein’s harmful and deviant actions that they refuse to even mention his name.

“Even though they lampooned people like Roger Ailes and Bill O’Reilly after similar allegations, what Weinstein has done is so grotesque and at odds with their values that they won’t so much as utter his name on their shows,” the source with direct access to Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Myers, Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, and James Corden said, adding that it is “utterly detestable” to them that one of the most powerful men in Hollywood used his immense wealth and influence to shame and silence his victims for three decades.

“Some of them tried to practice pieces on this scandal in their show rehearsals, and it was just too much for them. They ended up either too physically ill to continue, or in a puddle of tears out of grief for the many victims of this monster,” he also revealed.

The anonymous source also added that Weinstein’s vocal support of myriad liberal causes, his unabashed support of feminism, and his participation in activities such as women’s marches, only made the scandal that much more horrendous—until it was more than the popular TV personalities could bear.

“They’re just hoping their silence shames him,” he added.

University of Oregon President Michael Schill was supposed to deliver a speech last week about a $50 million dollar gift to the school. Before he could even take the stage, the event was taken over by student protesters.

Hypocrisy on Parade

Early this morning a friend who is in a private Facebook group with us was talking about the Vice President attending the NFL game in Indianapolis yesterday, since he is the former governor of that state and was there for the dedication of the statue of NFL great Peyton Manning. Before the national anthem, in an obvious ‘in your face,’ twenty of those overpaid neanderthals took the now-familiar knee. Pence walked out before the game started.

Some troll on FB piped in, whining about how much taxpayer money it cost for him to attend the game and pull this ‘publicity stunt.’ Never one to deprive myself of an emotional outlet, I let him have it about why liberals are suddenly concerned with the cost of anything and advised him that Trump was president and suggested he get over it. He angrily sent me a request to IM him, obviously so he could spit more of the all too familiar venom they’re known for when they have no facts. I declined, since I could have just as intelligent conversation with a potholder without the profanity.

Let go and let God

Stress is a physiological response to a perceived threat. Three of the most obvious physical responses are commonly known as Freeze, Fight, and Flight.

  • Freeze: We become hyper alert to threat indicators, lifting our heads up to look and listen, which involves tightening neck and shoulder muscles.
  • Fight: We tighten our hands in preparation for battle.
  • Flight: We tighten our feet in preparation for running away.

These stress responses are really important to surviving muggers and bears, etc., and cause no long term damage when the stress is relieved in short order.

This is not true when they become chronic responses to problems that cannot be resolved quickly or through Freezing, Fighting, or Fleeing.

This summer, I’ve been having a lot of trouble with pain and stiffness in my feet. A couple of weeks ago, I remembered that a pain therapist had me roll a golf ball under my bare feet to relieve stress.  It undoes the Flight tension.

Like this:

Making “fists with your toes” also undoes the tension in the feet caused by fear, in this case, of flying. It’s bio-feedback on the cheap.

Since I’ve been processing a lot of old fear memories this summer, I ordered a box of used golf balls from Amazon. Now I’ve got one each in two fabric-lined box lids, one here by my office chair and the other out by my spot on the couch. I figure it couldn’t hurt to roll my feet on them a little bit, several times a day, while reciting the surrender prayer.

O Jesus, I surrender myself to you. Take care of everything. Amen.

Yesterday, the idea of worry balls came into my head and I realized they are relaxing, because they relieve Fight tension in the hands. So I added two more golf balls to my little prayer regimen. They don’t jingle like Chinese meditation balls, but they roll just fine.  Good thing I bought a box of a dozen balls! 🙂

Finally, during the night, when my shoulders and neck were hurting, I thought about Freeze stress. Today, I started also pressing a golf ball into the two hot spots I have on each side of my neck and shoulders.

This stuff actually seems to help and it’s dirt cheap, so I thought I’d share in case you, too, are looking for ways to help yourself …

Religious Liberty Restored!

President Trump has delivered!

The HHS Mandate will no longer be enforced against organizations with a sincerely held religious or moral objection. The exemption must be granted to anyone with a reasonable objection who requests it. The days of pleading for a waiver are over.

What’s more, Attorney General Jeff Sessions issued a powerful memorandum about religious liberty to all federal agencies and departments. Among other things, it says:

  • The freedom of religion is an important, fundamental right, expressly protected by federal law.
  • The freedom of religion extends to persons and organizations.
  • Government may not officially favor or disfavor particular religious groups.
  • Religious employers are entitled to employ only persons whose beliefs and conduct are consistent with the employers’ religious precepts.
  • The federal government may not condition federal grants or contracts on the religious organization altering its religious character, beliefs, or activities.

The burden of proof has finally shifted back to the government where it belongs. This is a great leap forward for our First Amendment right to religious freedom.

Jimmy Kimmel Produces Official Document Confirming He Is Nation’s Moral Authority

HOLLYWOOD, CA—Kicking off a rousing and emotional monologue on his Jimmy Kimmel Live! late-night talk show Tuesday during which he laid out yet another case for the common-sense nature of his views on policy and the evil barbarism of those who hold different views, host Jimmy Kimmel reached into his desk and produced a document officially declaring himself America’s greatest moral authority.

 

“I know some people have questioned my impassioned political speeches, so let me just show you this,” Kimmel said before presenting the document for all the world to see. “I guess I assumed it was obvious due to the tone of my lectures and the obvious emotion behind them, but just in case anyone is unclear—I am, in fact, this nation’s highest moral authority.”

The paper, which contained the words “Official Document” in bold at the top, appeared to have read “This document officially certifies James Christian Kimmel as The United States of America’s highest moral authority; furthermore, as the sole arbiter of truth within the land.”

“Go ahead and zoom in on it,” the host said as he held the paper still for a moment. “Take a good look. And check out those asterisks at the top—this is the real deal. I sincerely hope none of you will question my authority again.”

“So whether I’m holding court about nationalized health care, women’s rights, or gun control: I am right, and only right, all the time. And if you disagree with me, you are wrong and you passionately want people to die,” he added.

At publishing time, the document’s origins are unknown, with most experts hypothesizing that Kimmel himself printed it out in his office before the show.
