Assuming I’ve done the math right (not a good assumption, I assure you!), this adds another 2 points to the skew toward Democrat over Republican, for a whopping total of 19. That’s nearly double the lead they’re showing for Obama over Romney.
So, yeah, Obama’s ahead if you mostly only ask Obama voters who they’ll vote for. Duh.
British correspondent Nile Gardiner wrote eloquently about the Churchill bust debacle, referring to the Obama White House’s attitude as “amateurish.” (First URL below.)
The June 2012 campaign finance reports reveal an unsurprising pattern:
Obama spent more than he took in (received $46 million, spent $58 million), while Romney spent less (received $33 million, spent $27.5 million).
July totals are due at the Federal Elections Commission by Aug. 15.
Meanwhile, Obama and his team are sending out more frequent and increasingly desperate-sounding pleas for money, howling that Romney has an unfair financial advantage.
The advantage may or may not be real when you figure in PAC and political party spending. Regardless, I think it’s a bit rich of the Obama machine to complain!
In 2008, Obama reneged on his promise to stay within the public campaign financing limits that McCain agreed to, has been fund-raising the entire time Obama’s been in the White House and did not have to spend anything on a 50 State primary fight.
A recent fund-raising email from VP Biden had the subject line: “Romney defeats Obama?” The text warned that such a headline might be possible on the day after the election if supporters don’t dig deep into their pockets now.
“Don’t let anyone convince you that this is a sure thing — our opponents have almost unlimited resources at their disposal, and we already know they’ll outspend us by a good amount,” Mr. Biden warned. “What we do now decides the headlines on November 7th.”
Romney’s campaign manager forwarded Mr. Biden’s e-mail to Romney’s list of supporters and suggested the recipient donate “to make sure the headlines read correctly in 100 days.” LOL
In 2008, Macomb County, Mich., ordered John Satawa to remove a seasonal Nativity display that his family had maintained since 1945. From 1945 until 2008, nobody minded. What a shocker … the government tried to stop it only after a protest was received from the Freedom From Religion Foundation. A federal judge upheld the county’s decision to ban the display, but 6th Circuit appellate judges just reversed that decision, saying it violated both free-speech and equal protection.

Barack Obama has done more to advance the cause of alternative sexual lifestyles in the United States than any other president. His Department of Justice has decided not to defend the Defense of Marriage Act, which currently is the law of the land. Obama has declared special days and events to recognize alternative sexual lifestyles. He’s appointed probably more individuals choosing those lifestyles to public office than any other president. He’s allowed homosexuals to serve openly in the U.S. military. But at today’s daily news briefing at the White House, Obama PR spokesman Carney refused to answer repeated questions from multiple reporters about where Obama stands on polygamy. The questions were sparked by a long article in Time magazine about polygamy, titled “I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do” and featuring the story of Alina, Valeria and Vicki, the “three wives of Joe Darger” in Utah. The article portrays polygamy as having a “rising cultural profile” and says that “once-secretive plural families” are beginning to fight for recognition, much as homosexuals have done over the past decades.

Mike Huckabee wrote on Facebook. “Let’s affirm a business that operates on Christian principles and whose executives are willing to take a stand for the godly values we espouse by simply showing up and eating at Chick fil-A on Wednesday, August 1.” Some 600,000 people signed up to celebrate Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day and reports are the restaurants were packed. In Staurt, Florida, the parking lot was overflowing and cars were wrapped around the building waiting to reach the drive-up window. There were extra attendants outside on foot taking people’s orders before they even got near the window. In Des Moines, Iowa, there were 300 customers in line at noon. One family said they drove nearly 2 hours to come for lunch. In Mesa, Arizona, the lines reportedly were so long, it was taking 30 minutes to get a meal. Another Arizona franchise needed police help with traffic control. In Oklahoma, people patiently stood in line for an hour despite 100 plus degree temperatures. Chick-fil-A itself did not affiliate itself with the buycott and is refusing to release customer and sales figures for Aug 1.

Let’s just put two things she says in context.
About the economy having contracted just before Obama took office … that contraction happened two years after DEMOCRATS took over majority control in Washington, during the two year period when Obama was in the Senate.
As for the “twelfth straight quarter of growth”, may I just say Big Freakin’ Whoop about that? She’s talking about increases in the GDP that are so small, they barely register on the only graph I really understand and care about, which is this one showing what percentage of Americans have JOBS.

This is another area where the difference between the two candidates could not be greater. Many Jews and Christians care deeply about Israel. If you talk with any about November, the resources below may prove useful.
Earlier this week, Nancy Pelosi stated emphatically that “President Obama … has been [to Israel] over and over again.”
Pelosi’s statement is misleading on two counts. “Over and over again” reads like “three or more” whereas Barack Obama has been to Israel only two times. Both were brief visits when he was a U.S. Senator. He has never been to Israel as President or as a private citizen.
During his 24 hour visit in July 2008, Obama made a speech in which he promised that, if he won the presidential election, he would work “from the minute I’m sworn into office” towards ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
I don’t follow that part of the news very closely, but so far as I’m aware, the situation has not improved one bit in the 3 years and 7 months since the minute Obama was sworn into office. But then we’ve seen in recent blogs how much “work” Obama does not do.
This video is long. Basically, Romney told an Israeli audience in Jerusalem that the United States has “a solemn duty and a moral imperative” to block Iran from achieving nuclear weapons capability, while Obama has done nothing to deter Iran’s loudly stated intentions to develop the ability to nuke Israel into a radioactive cloud of dust.
March 4, 2012: Obama spoke to AIPAC and claimed he’s been there for Israel at every critical juncture in his presidency.
Since this is a recent statement on his relationship to Israel while he’s been President, I’m including it for anyone who wants to hear his side of the story. The video (embedded at URL) is long, but the transcript is linked at the page if you prefer to skim that.

I’m thinking that if Obama were telling the truth about having been such a big, hot supporter of Israel’s interests, he’d be really popular in Israel now. KWIM? So why is his approval in Israel only 12%? Hmm? Maybe he’s exaggerating or might I even say lying about having done so much for Israel? Noooooooo … Obama lie? ::snort::
This week, Romney is visiting Israel, so naturally Obama is suddenly sending millions in aid money there. (And here I thought we were broke. Ahem.) Is Obama throwing OUR (borrowed from China) money at Israel just a campaign gag? Let me think …
Remember when Ben Nelson sold out his Pro-Life values for a meaningless executive order saying Obama would never allow tax moneys to be used for abortion. Riiiight. And who has been sending money to Planned Parenthood in states that have defunded them? PP is the biggest abortion provider in the country.
Obama himself said, “If you want to know where my heart lies, look no further than what I have done.” I’ve been looking right along and it’s clear to me that what Obama does when he wants something from you bears no resemblance to what he’ll do once he has gotten what he wants out of you.

Israel says Jerusalem is its capital, but it has not been internationally recognized as such. The status of the city, and especially its holy places, remains a core issue in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The purpose of the Cabinet is both to advise the President and to rein in any attempts by him to abuse his power. Reagan and George W. Bush each met with their Cabinets 36 times in their first year alone.
Obama has convened his Cabinet only twice in the past 8 months. He has met individually with his Secretaries of Defense (18), Treasury (15), and State (14), plus one meeting each with Agriculture and Veterans Affairs. But he has not sat down with the other ten at all.
Some of these omissions are particularly puzzling.
How could he not meet with Attorney General Eric H. Holder even once during all that time Congress had Holder on the hot seat, then voted to hold him in contempt? And where did he get the nerve to grant Holder “executive privilege” when they hadn’t even talked?
Gas prices are still killing us all, at the pumps and in higher prices for everything that gets shipped anywhere, which is pretty much everything. Yet Obama never once met with his Secretary of Energy.
He also never met with his Secretaries of Commerce or Labor, despite record-high unemployment and record-low economic growth.
And did someone call off that terrorist threat thing? Obama never met with his Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano.
He also never met with Kathleen Sebelius, his Secretary of Health and Human Services and the author of the HHS mandate that has led to dozens of lawsuits and a revolt among formerly loyal-to-Democrats Catholics.
This is not Tinfoil Hat conspiracy theory stuff or Right Wingnut agitprop.

In short … the Obama Administration has ORDERED immigration officers to RELEASE illegal aliens if they simply SAY “I have a GED” or “I am a DREAMer.” This includes child molesters, rapists, drug dealers … you name it. If someone is a citizen, they get prosecuted. If they’re ILLEGALS, they get RELEASED.

On June 15, 2012, Obama ordered law enforcement officials to release, without question, proof or evidence, ANY illegal who says he or she has a GED or is a DREAMer. Nation of laws? Not under this president!
The mass murder in Aurora, Colorado, has brought forth the usual Leftist calls for more gun control legislation. Obama is no exception, weeping crocodile tears for
“the dozens gunned down on the streets of Chicago and Atlanta, and here in New Orleans … Milwaukee or Cleveland.”
Romney made a different, and to my mind more common sense, point.
“A lot of what this … young man did was clearly against the law. But the fact that it was against the law did not prevent it from happening.”
