Trump Pees in Media’s Oatmeal

It’s not supposed to be like this. As long as anyone can remember, the ‘news’ reporters have had free rein in controlling presidential press conferences and even the daily briefings. Then Donald Trump happened. After an eight year vacation, the media finally went back to investigating … with a vengeance. They were as happy as a pig in slop when they forced out General Kelly, a better man than the lot of them. Trump’s nominee for Labor Secretary, Andy Puzder, succumbed to intense pressure from the left over allegedly hiring an illegal to do his housekeeping. (I’d bet my retirement check most if not all of the people raising the hell have some questionable employees as well.)

[CtH: How freaking hypocritical is it of them to condemn Puzder for hiring an illegal when they PROMOTE THE HIRING OF ILLEGALS?!]

The president and PM Netanyahu held a joint press conference yesterday. Trump completely ignored ABC, CNN and NBC, instead calling on reporters from Townhall and the Christian Broadcasting Network.

Bibi Visits Trump And LEVELS Reporter Looking For A Fight- MEDIA DOWN!

President Donald Trump has walked in and is smoothing ruffled feathers and helping things to be strong and healthy again. And yet despite the incredible relationship that exists between Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu the media is crying that Donald Trump is anti-semitic… seriously???

“There is no greater support of the Jewish people and the Jewish state than president Donald Trump,” Netanyahu said resolutely. “I think we should put that to rest.”

Trump DESTROYS ‘Hateful’ Palestine During Visit with Netanyahu

Palestinians are hateful and evil. They are taught to love death and the highest honor in this lifetime for them is to kill Jews and infidels. John Kerry literally told Israel, you can be Democratic or Jewish, but not both.

Remember When: Hey Liberal Media, This Is Probably Why President Trump Didn’t Call On You Today
Our own Katie Pavlich asked President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about how to deal with Iran after their blatant violations of the nuclear agreement and what compromises both the Israelis and the Palestinians need to consider in their ongoing conflict with one another. These are legitimate questions.

As Cortney noted, the liberal media was ignored and they went into full meltdown mode. CNN’s Jim Acosta said that the “fix is in” concerning who will be able to ask the president questions, describing Townhall as “a very conservative website.”

[CtH: “A very conservative website” whose representative asked a really good question, as opposed to the Gotcha Flynn gloating CNN probably had planned!]

I’ll just leave this insufferable exchange between former President Obama and the Chicago Tribune’s Christi Parsons after his 2012 re-elect win to show why we probably shouldn’t be shocked that the Trump White House is taking questions from outlets who used to be left in the dark.

Angry ABC in ‘Open Hostility’ at Trump for ‘Shutting Down’ Free Speech

In the post-press conference coverage, Vega ranted, “I want to tell you about the open hostility right here in this room. You know, I’m sitting right here kind of in the middle of the pack of a number of journalists, mainstream reporters, if you will, and there is open anger in here about the fact the President did not take any real questions about the issue of the day.”

[CtH: You mean like the “real questions” you used to ask your BFF Barack?]

Karl sneered that Trump called on “friendly conservative news organizations.” He lashed out:

“Amazing that on a day like this he could have a press conference and not face a single question on the big story of this, the New York Times bombshell report that members of his campaign allegedly had contacts with the Russians during the campaign. No questions on that.”

[CtH: No, the questions were about ISRAEL, because, you know, their PRIME MINISTER WAS VISITING and THAT WAS THE TOPIC OF THE PRESSER.]

The question of the day, according to Vega, was Michael Flynn’s resignation.

Speaking for other journalists, she raged, “And so, you’re feeling an open sense of anger and frustration here.” Reporter Karl sputtered, “George, it is astounding. We have now had four presidential news conferences and the President, for the most part, has simply avoided calling on people from news organizations.”

[CtH: The ARROGANCE of them deciding who is and who isn’t a news organization!  After the tingly legged, softball throwing, pillow fluffing these “real” news orgs didn for the past eight years.  But hey, KEEP IT UP, MORONS.  Cuz we’re really looking forward to EIGHT years in the TRUMP White House.]

CNN Reporter Says ‘The Fix Is In’ With Conservative Media and the Trump Administration

“The two questions that were asked or called upon from the president in this news conference went to the Christian Broadcasting Network, which is obviously owned by Pat Robertson, the televangelist down in Virginia. It’s a very conservative broadcasting network, and Townhall.com, which is a very conservative news website,” Acosta said.

[CtH: And not a word about how GOOD those questions were, just sneering at the sources of the questions.  This is a variation on the logical fallacy of arguing from authority. But golleeeeee, I’m just a loathsome conservative blogger, so what do I know?!]

13 Hard-Hitting Questions Mainstream Reporters Asked Obama

Mainstream reporters are outraged that conservative media outlets are receiving a significant share of questions at White House press conferences.

Only liberal reporters, the line of reasoning goes, are capable of asking the tough questions needed to hold those in power accountable. Here are a sample of questions asked of former President Obama by mainstream reporters.

1. “Golf, what does it do for you?” – CBS
2. I’m wondering if you think that [Republican presidential candidates are] uninformed, out of touch, or irresponsible?” – CNN
3.“Do you have a vindictive streak?” – NBC
4. What has “Enchanted you the most from serving in this office?”- NYTimes

Harboring Criminals

All those bleeding heart liberals who think we should just let everyone in no matter what are de facto condoning homicide, aggravated sexual abuse, sexual assault of a minor, lewd and lascivious acts with a child, indecent liberties with a minor, drug trafficking, assault and battery, DUI, and illegal weapons.

That’s the list of crimes for which 75% of the 680 illegals ICE rounded up last week have been CONVICTED.

About the “Nutty 9th”

9th-circuit-map

Trump’s immigration order was banned by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, the SLOWEST of the 12 federal appeals courts.

Though they typically take 15 months to hand down a decision, they somehow or other found time to squeeze in an immediate judgment against Trump’s executive order, maybe because eighteen of the court’s 25 active judges have been appointed by Democrats.

Former President Barack Obama appointed seven of them.

The 9th is unaffectionately known as the “nutty 9th”, because it is the most liberal and MOST REVERSED court in the nation.

An average of EIGHTY PERCENT of its decisions get OVERTURNED!

Republicans in both House and Senate have introduced similar (though slightly different) bills to reduce the size of the 9th and create a new 13th circuit court.

Even if the 9th weren’t a ridiculous clown show of judicial activism, its jurisdiction needs to be pared down.  Eleven of them cover 80% of the population; the 9th covers 20%That’s just dumb and it needs to be rectified.

2017_02-09-travel-ban-ruling

Judge Napolitano on travel ban ruling:  “The Constitution assigns the decision-making for foreign policy exclusively to the President; even Congress has a subordinate role.”

“The President has a lot of tools that the Congress has given him. One of the tools is the statute that he read yesterday, which we’ve all been talking about, which was exercised by President Carter and by President Obama, a blanket ban on immigrants from given places. The statute specifically says ‘the President on his own by proclamation,’ meaning he doesn’t have to consult with anybody else, ‘can make this decision.’ The decision to ban is not reviewable; it’s not justiciable.  Judges are incapable of second-guessing the President on it.”

Be Careful What You Wish For

One thing is clear. If the miserable slug from Nevada had not undone the filibuster in his zeal to get rafts of Obama judicial nominees, President Trump would not have a single cabinet member confirmed. Not a one.

  • Education Secretary: Betsy DeVos confirmed on a voted 51-50.
  • Attorney General: Jeff Sessions confirmed 52-47.
  • HHS Secretary: Tom Price confirmed 52-47.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, the injunction against the travel ban was upheld by the ninth circuit by a margin of 3-0.

Sessions had not yet been confirmed and the lawyers from the Justice Department who argued the case were holdovers from the Obama regime, so there was no real motivation to put much effort in their argument.

It is paramount that the Republicans get Neil Gorsuch confirmed to SCOTUS before the case is heard there. With a 4-4 split, if Kennedy sides with the originalists in deciding such action is within the purview of presidential power, the lower court ruling would stand. It will eventually be reinstated, but the when is unknown.

Dianne Feinstein Regrets Filibuster Reform as Senate Confirms More Trump Cabinet Picks
The Senate confirmed Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State with 56 votes; Jeff Sessions as Attorney General with 52 votes; and Betsy DeVos, who barely reached a majority of 51 votes without Vice President Mike Pence’s deciding vote to confirm her as Secretary of Education.

“As we look back, it may well have been better to not have changed the rules.”

Some Democrats remain unapologetic about the decision, however. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) told IJR he maintains that filibuster reform was essential:

“At the time I thought, ‘I might serve here with a Republican president and I might serve here when there’s a Republican majority.’  We were in a situation where positions that were really important were going vacant for years at a time.”

9th Circuit Refuses to Reinstate Immigration Pause; ‘We Beat You,’ Gov. Tells Trump
Moments after the ruling, Trump tweeted, “SEE YOU IN COURT,” adding that “THE SECURITY OF OUR NATION IS AT STAKE!”

In response, Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, a Democrat who leads one of the states that challenged the ban, said: “Mr. President, we just saw you in court, and we beat you.”

The court battle is far from over. An appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court seems likely. That could put the decision in the hands of a divided court that has a vacancy.

Trump’s nominee, Neil Gorsuch, is unlikely to be confirmed in time to take part in any consideration of the ban, which was set to expire in 90 days unless it is changed.

Schumer: ‘We Think We Have Done a Real Service to America’ by Vilifying Trump’s Nominees
Senate Democrats flew a restaurant worker all the way from Los Angeles to Washington on Thursday, to help them portray President Trump’s nominee for Labor Secretary not only as “unqualified,” but also as someone who steals money from workers; looks the other way when workers are sexually harassed; forces people to work for free; punishes them for calling in sick; and fights against raising the minimum wage.

“Puzder called us the worst of the worst and the bottom of the pool. I work myself to the bone just to survive. Why would we want someone who think so little of workers in charge of policies that could impact all of us?” the allegedly victimized woman asked.

On Thursday, Schumer told the same news conference, “It’s disgraceful to put ‘secretary of labor’ and ‘Puzder’ in the same sentence, given his views.”

Schumer said Democrats hope they can force the withdrawal of Puzder’s nomination, but even if they can’t, it’s all about laying the groundwork to stymie the Trump administration:

While You Were Sleeping, Tom Price Was Confirmed As Health And Human Services Secretary
When Jeff Sessions was confirmed to be the 84th Attorney General of the United States Wednesday night, a vote was held to move Rep. Tom Price’s (R-GA) Health and Human Services nomination forward for a final vote.  Around 2:15 A.M this morning Price was confirmed in a 52-47 vote.

Liberal Ninth Circuit Court Is Overturned in Recent Years 80% of Time

The Ninth Circuit Court ruled against President Trump and continued to block his travel ban on Thursday.  The Ninth Circuit is the most liberal court in the country — and is the most reversed court in the country.

2010, perhaps seeking to reclaim its position at the top of the heap, the Ninth Circuit was reversed a startling 19 times (79 percent), three times as many reversals as most circuits had cases before the Supreme Court. The same pattern continued in the 2011 (71 percent) and 2012 terms (86 percent), when the Ninth Circuit was reversed more than twice as many times as most circuits had cases before the Court.

Two stunning examples

Judges are supposed to interpret the law according to precedents, not legislate or indulge in social engineering from the bench.  Here are two stunning examples of the latter from Dan Bongino’s Facebook:

1) When the Supreme Court ruled that the Obamacare penalty was a tax, they ignored Barack Obama himself who had vigorously argued in a nationally televised interview that it was not a tax. So, when it’s a liberal agenda item, the President’s words do not matter.

But, in arguing against the Trump Executive Order on immigration, the left and their judicial allies insist on bringing up Trump’s campaign language about a “Muslim ban” even though the Executive Order says nothing about a Muslim ban. So, when it’s a conservative agenda item, the President’s words do matter.

scalia-government-by-unelected-committee

2) When Arizona passed an illegal immigration law which mimicked federal law, the Supreme Court struck down portions of the law with Justice Kennedy saying , “The State may not pursue (immigration) policies that undermine federal law.”

But, now that liberals dislike the Trump Executive Order and the federal immigration law it is based on, they are vigorously arguing for a state role in national immigration policy and the courts seem more than happy to agree.

Turn Your Attention to Ring #2, Please

Yesterday may be most aptly described as a three ring circus.

Ring #1 had the Democrat hissy fit failing to stop the confirmation of Betsy DeVos as Education Secretary.  Undeterred, they continued to stomp their feet and act less like the most deliberative body in the nation and more like kindergartners desperately in need of a nap. Today they aim their anger at AG nominee Jeff Sessions. Dizzy Lizzy Warren made such an ass of herself she’s not allowed to speak at all today.

Ring #2 had three liberal hacks in black robes assuming to dictate immigration policy and decide if the president should be tasked with what kind of freeloaders are allowed into the country or will they? The questions ran far afield as they grilled government representatives when they shouldn’t even be hearing the case.

Ring #3 was what CNN termed as a debate on Obamacare between Senator Ted Cruz and Bernie “the brain” Sanders. It wasn’t much of a contest as Cruz had his facts in order and poor Bernie had 3 weak talking points. It was 90 minutes of an old socialist taking a beat-down.

Warren reads Coretta Scott King letter opposing Sessions from outside Senate

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on the Senate floor Tuesday that Warren had violated the upper chamber’s rules as she delivered a harsh speech opposing the nomination of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) for attorney general.

“Tonight I wanted to read that letter, and Sen. Mitch McConnell and Republicans came to the floor to shut me down for reading that letter,” Warren said in a Facebook Live video late Tuesday night. “So right now what I’d like to do outside the Senate, I just want to read the letter.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren Is Told To Take HER SEAT For Inappropriate Language

Elizabeth Warren formally silenced during Senate debate on Jeff Sessions nomination

“I will not be silent while the Republicans rubber stamp an AG who will never stand up to the @POTUS when he breaks the law.”

Speaking on the Senate floor, Warren quoted from 30-year-old correspondence from Coretta Scott King relating to Sessions’ failed judicial nomination in the 1980s. It was part of a barnstorming speech by the Massachusetts Senator against Sessions’ suitability for the post and attacking his record on civil rights.

Mitch McConnell, the Republican majority leader, objected that Warren had broken Senate rules that prohibit one member impugning the conduct of another. Senators then voted 49-43 to uphold a ruling in McConnell’s favour.

Trump’s lawyer gets pounded by judges with questions about ‘Muslim ban’ as he fights for travel restrictions to be put back in place

He asked the court to ‘immediately’ lift a judge’s injunction or, a the very least, reinstate the part of Trump’s order that ‘extends beyond people who are in the US or who have been in the US.’

Ted Cruz CRUSHES Socialist Bernie Sanders in CNN Obamacare Debate
It was a debate for the ages. Texas Senator Ted Cruz, a constitutional conservative versus Soviet-style socialist Bernie Sanders on CNN Wednesday night over the future of the failed Obamacare debacle.

It was such a bloodbath for Soviet Sanders — so much so that leftist CNN decided not to have a discussion panel after the much-ballyhooed debate event and Twitter decided to downplay by refusing to trend any of the relevant hashtags that normally would go viral.

Sanders refused to address broken Democrat promises, promises that Americans are painfully experiencing today.

As expected, CNN filled the audience with sob stories from people touting Obamacare as the second coming.

Ted Cruz treated them with compassion, grace, and logic in responding to their concerns about the repeal of Obamacare and the replacements being discussed that would not negatively affect their current coverage.

When some in the audience gave specific personal testimonies how their lives were damaged by Obamacare, heartless socialist Sanders treated them like the number they would be under socialized medicine, often turning to his Marxist talking points to bail him out when he had no logical answer to the failed Democrat Party disaster.

Unrestricted Immigration: It’s not a Catholic thing

2017_01-22-pope-francis-on-border-control

The Roman Catholic Church has a longstanding teaching, drawn from natural law, that the nation is an extension of the human family.

As the father of a family has not only the right but also the duty to protect those in his charge, the properly constituted authorities of a state have a duty to use their power to advance the common good of the nation.

“Political authorities, for the sake of the common good for which they are responsible, may make the exercise of the right to immigrate subject to various juridical conditions, especially with regard to the immigrants’ duties toward their country of adoption. Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws, and to assist in carrying civic burdens — The Catechism of the Catholic Church #2241

The mistaken idea that the RCC supports unrestricted immigration stems from its teaching on the personal right of migration.  This teaching says that someone in straitened circumstances should be allowed to leave his country of origin, bringing with him those under his care.  However, it does not include the unlimited right of migrants to settle wherever they wish.

“The more prosperous nations are obliged, to the extent they are able, to welcome the foreigner in search of the security and the means of livelihood which he cannot find in his country of origin.” — The Catechism of the Catholic Church #2241 BOLD added

The key phrase is “to the extent they are able.”  The authorities of the receiving country have a primary duty to act in the common good of their own citizens, because each country, as Pope Francis said, has the “right to control its borders.”
