Blessings amidst the sorrow

The owner of a small restaurant in Des Moines says one of his employees came in and asked if she could get her paycheck a little early. While he was in the office cutting her check, she watched the news about the Newtown shootings.

Her boss came out to find her sobbing uncontrollably. She told him, “I needed my paycheck early because I have an appointment at Planned Parenthood this afternoon to have an abortion.” And then she said, “After seeing all of those innocent young children dying and all of those mothers who have had their children taken from them, I can’t go through with this abortion!”

The young girl said she didn’t know where to go for help. Her boss got her in touch with his mother, who is very active in Iowa Right to Life. God is good!

Planned Parenthood clinics saying no to abortion?

Who woulda thunk?!

In 2010, Planned Parenthood affiliates performed 329,445 abortions. Abortions made up 91% of the “pregnancy services” the clinics offered, but apparently it wasn’t enough to satisfy them.

At the end of 2010, Planned Parenthood told all its affiliates nationwide that they had to be providing abortion services by 2013 or else. Since the announcement, some Planned Parenthood affiliates have dropped out rather than comply. For example,

Planned Parenthood of South Central New York:

“This mandate will no doubt result in an increase in revenue for Planned Parenthood as well as an increase in the more than 329,000 lives the abortion chain ends in one year. Does that sound like women’s health?”

Planned Parenthood of South Texas:

“[This] is the ultimate evidence that Planned Parenthood’s chief concern is making money of abortion – not the health of vulnerable women and girls.”

There’s other evidence that Planned Parenthood’s real concern is profit, not women’s health, as they so often and so sanctimoniously proclaim.

  • A European drug manufacturer has publicly stated that 28 women have died worldwide after using RU 486 (aka, morning after pill, Plan B, chemical abortion).
  • As of last April, the FDA had reports of 2,207 adverse events related to the use of RU 486, including 14 deaths, 612 hospitalizations, 58 ectopic pregnancies, 339 blood transfusions, and 256 cases of infections in the United States alone.

Despite these statistics and the fact the FDA recommends the drug be used only under the close supervision of a physician, Planned Parenthood cooked up a plan to see it to women via high tech vending machines!

Webcam abortion

These so-called webcam or telemed abortions dispense RU-486 to women via a Skype-type video link. The women are never seen in person by a physician. Not only did Planned Parenthood decide to do this, but they actually fired a clinic manager for objecting to the plan.

Planned Parenthood has spent many years and lots of big bucks fighting this and similar laws in other States. If they truly cared about choice and the actual well-being of their patients, they would celebrate laws that protect women from exploitation and use the money they’ve been funneling into legal fees to provide things like …. oh, I dunno … post-abortion counseling.

Oh. Wait. They said the women who testified to the courts about their post-abortion suffering were dirty liars. I guess Planned Parenthood doesn’t believe its own research. Makes you wonder why they bother to do it.

South Dakota is still fighting Planned Parenthood in the courts over another law intended to protect women from exploitation. This one requires that every woman seeking an abortion talk personally with a physician about pre-existing risk factors (such as coercion) and post-abortion risk factors (like suicide).

Before being scheduled for an abortion, a pregnant woman must show she is making her decision freely and understands the risk factors. She must also be offered the opportunity for counseling by a state-approved counseling center and then required to wait three days before the procedure itself.

Currently, Planned Parenthood does everything as quickly and cheaply as possible. Low level clerks helpfully schedule abortion procedures right there in the waiting room where patients are under the watchful eye of people like incestuous fathers and brothers, abusive teachers and coaches, or adult statutory raping boyfriends who want evidence of their crimes removed. Possible victims of such coercion receive no counseling and never see a physician until AFTER they have signed consent forms, PAID for their abortions and sometimes, maybe often, are already spraddled and anesthetized.

Yup. Planned Parenthood really CARES … just not about women.

The Obama Democrats claimed ObamaCare would lower health care costs for everyone. It won’t. It will increasingly nationalize health care by driving private insurers out of the business and pushing us all into Medicaid or Medicare, which have both been proven to be more expensive per patient.

Ministering to abortion workers

AUSTIN, TEXAS— On June 4, 2012, former Planned Parenthood abortion clinic director Abby Johnson launched the official website for And Then There Were None, a nonprofit organization that ministers specifically to abortion clinic workers. ATTWN will emotionally, spiritually, legally, and financially assist former abortion clinic workers as they transition out of the abortion industry and into a new line of work.

“We have hundreds of ministries for post-abortive women and men. There is literally nothing for these former clinic workers,” Johnson said. “We are going to change that.”

ATTWN seeks to assist former abortion clinic workers through these four integral aspects: emotional, spiritual, legal, and financial. Emotional support will be readily available for these former clinic workers as they need it. They will be connected to a spiritual guidance counselor of any religious denomination of their choosing for the process of spiritual healing. Full legal protections of an attorney will be available to former clinic workers at no cost. They will obtain financial support as they receive assistance in finding a new job outside of the abortion industry.

Aside from prayer, the most crucial aspect of this new ministry is garnering funds so these clinic workers can literally afford to leave the abortion industry and still be able to provide for themselves and their families. This is where pro-lifers can truly be active in their convictions: as there is no other outreach program like this one, it will need support.

“It is not always easy to convince people to give to a ministry where you may never meet the people you help,” Johnson said. “You may never know their names. You may never see them face to face. But your support is saving them…saving them from a road of darkness, of pure evil. Your support is bringing them into hope.”

Since 1973, abortion has killed more than 17 million black babies.

Planned Parenthood performs about 25% of all abortions in the United States. Planned Parenthood clinics are most frequently sited in minority neighborhoods.

This is no accident. Planned Parenthood was founded by eugenicist Margaret Sanger with the specific intention of eliminating unwanted races from the human population.

She said Blacks, immigrants and the mentally and physically unfit should not be allowed to breed. She wrote,

“We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population. And the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.”

In 2009, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg clearly agreed, praising legal abortion for helping to curb “growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of” like those who qualified for Medicaid.
