He’s beatable, but we have our work cut out for us.

THE GOOD NEWS is that his core supporters are a minority whose beliefs and policies offend all that most of us hold dear.

THE BAD NEWS is that, while 65% say the country is going in the wrong direction, 15% turn around and give Obama a positive approval rating and 5% are so out-to-lunch they actually give him good to excellent ratings on the economy!

Anyone who knows the FACTS knows that Obama’s policies are the same as the Democrats’ standard agenda of raising taxes and increasing spending.

Anyone who knows the FACTS knows that these policies have dominated the federal agenda since Democrats took over Congress in 2006 and brought on and sustained the worst economy this country has endured since the Great Depression.

THE FACT IS that the Democrat Media Complex is NOT telling people the FACTS.

It’s no surprise this is our biggest challenges this year. I found a very recent poll of voter trust in t.v. news sources (January 2012) by Public Policy Polling.  Granted, PPP is a Democratic Party-affiliated polling firm … which is definitely reflected in the snarky comments readers posted under the poll report. Surprisingly, though, I didn’t find any bias in the PPP survey sample. And I really ground those numbers LOOKING for one!

At 700, the sample is short of the ideal 1,000 or more. But the demographics for gender and race are close to the general population. I think the age groups are as well, though I did find a rather serious error in the way the data is reported.

I.e., the age groupings in the question do not match the age groupings in the data. However, I compared the percents with the 2010 census and found the question groupings match well with the percents reported. My conclusion is that someone just screwed up the row labels.

In any event, the Big One … the one thing that biased political polls skew the worst … is the breakdown by party affiliation. And this one the PPP poll got bang on.  GALLUP does a running poll on this subject (URL below), so it’s easy enough to compare how well any survey’s sample matches the population for the date it was taken.

PPP over-polled Democrats by 11% and Republicans by 8%, apparently giving a 3% advantage to Democrats. However, 3% is exactly how much Democrats polled over Republicans when leaners were included. So I’m going with accepting the poll results as fairly accurate of American voter opinion about broadcast news media for January 2012.

I spent hours massaging the numbers. I even made some graphics that turned out to say nothing much. So I deleted them again. It turns out there wasn’t anything surprising in the data. Republicans trust Fox. Democrats don’t. What else is new?

One thing did really stick out for me in the survey and that is that they included Comedy Central in the list of “t.v. news sources.” Huh?

I looked it up. The closest “news show” I can find on Comedy Central is “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” … “Describing itself as a fake news program, The Daily Show draws its comedy and satire from recent news stories, political figures, media organizations, and often, aspects of the show itself.”

IOW, PPP included a show that chooses what news it will cover based on where Jon and his writers find the best jokes. That is kinda creeptastic all by itself. But just to make it even more “What the hell do these people use for brains?” … the survey found 28% of all respondents saying they trust Comedy Central as a news source.

The “trust” breakdown was 36% Democrat, 37% Independent, and (sadly) 12% Republican. I’m guessing those last ones are like the fellow Dearest talked to when he was collecting Republican ballot signatures. This older gentleman said he was a lifelong Republican, that he really missed Clinton and thought that Carter was the greatest president in American history. Oy.

I was kinda creeped out that Comedy Central came in second (not first) on the most distrusted list, but then I got thinking about it and realized the #1 most distrusted (Fox) needs to be set apart from the rest. As the only news source that gives Conservatives a fair shake, it’s the obvious target for Libtards to pick as most distrusted. Our side, however, has to choose from among seven different, left-biased sources.

I got thinking what my #1 least trusted is on that list and realized it would come down to Comedy Central or MSNBC. Since Comedy Central occasionally sticks it to Obama et al. whereas MSNBC has that thrill up the leg thing going for all things Democrat, I decided I’d go with MSNBC.  And … what do you know? The top two most distrusted tv news sources that are not Fox were Comedy Central (16%) and MSNBC (15%).

I think I have sufficiently established that we can safely IGNORE the one-in-three voters who are either hard core Leftists or else too stoned on Leftist kool-aid to listen to anything we’d have to say.  One can hope the “too stoned” will party hearty the night before election day and be too hung over to remember to vote. Or else that they’ll be too dumb to find their polling place … especially those of us who are being redistricted so who the heck knows WHERE we’ll be sent to vote this year.

As for the rest … 50% of us are on board. How we shake down in the electoral college is an important issue, of course, but we only need to win enough votes, not all the votes, or even a ‘whelming majority of votes.

I think the key is to continue telling the TRUTH. We’ve got the facts and the record of history on our side. All they’ve got is a lot of news media sources willing to do free PR for the Democrats.

And honestly … I don’t think it’s working all that well for them any more. One in five liberals said they do trust Fox News, but do not trust MSNBC. One in four Democrats said they do trust Fox News, but do not trust MSNBC.

People really hate being lied to, so once they get wise to how biased the Laughing Stock Media really is, they’re not going to go back. We just need to stay on point, not let them choose the agenda, and never back down when they call us names.

Sheriff Joe rides again

Today’s headlines include one saying Arizona’s governor does not agree with Sheriff Joe.

What she actually says is quite different. For example, she notes that, unlike the sheriff, she has not done extensive research into the matter. She also said that, when she spoke to the Hawaiian governor several years ago, he assured her that Obama was born in Hawaii.

I happen to think he was born in Hawaii as well.

This has nothing to do with what Sheriff Joe and his Cold Case Posse have concluded, which is that there is probable cause the birth certificate Obama reluctantly released only after tremendous political pressure is a forgery.

If I forged a New York birth certificate for myself, it would not mean I had not been born in New York. (I was.) It would just mean I was guilty of a FELONY.

I’m 99% certain that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii AND that both his father’s identity and his birth date are fake.

If I’m right, he is both eligible to be POTUS and also to put on an orange jumpsuit and do time behind bars.

Obama Favors Students Getting Paid to Screw While Screwing Over Troops

The past fortnight has really been a microcosm of what Barack Obama is really about.

The media went off in an orgasmic explosion this morning, practically wetting themselves to jump on the “story” about Rush Limbaugh calling Georgetown Law student/professional activist Sandra Fluke a slut.

Now, in the interest of fairness, I will say that I think Mr. Limbaugh made a poor choice of words in the matter. The proper term for a person who expects his or her sex life to be subsidized by, well, anyone, is “whore.” But I digress.

Not one to miss a moment like this, our dear President reportedly called Ms. Fluke personally to make the sad, sad puppy dog eyes with her over the phone. (I guess asking her over for a beer would have raised too many eyebrows.) And in so doing, we find Mr. Obama yet again offering his Presidential condolences to someone who, in all actuality, owes us a massive apology.

I’m referring, of course, to what Sarah Palin brilliantly dubbed the President’s “naive apology to savages” in Afghanistan. For anyone who was stuck under a rock as these events unfolded, here’s the short version: Our troops in Afghanistan disposed of desecrated Korans – desecrated, I might add, by Taliban prisoners they were holding – in the manner proscribed by Islam, which is burning them. For our troops’ heinous act of respecting the religious traditions of a country in which people are still trying to kill them, there were riots in the streets and some of our troops were murdered by Afghani soldiers. In what has got to be the most dickless move of the 21st century, President Obama apologized. And when his initial apology precipitated more riots and more murders of our troops, he apologized again.

What was the definition of insanity again?

Now, I live on a military base. My husband is in no immediate danger of deployment, but I do have two neighbors who were recently deployed to Afghanistan, leaving wives and children back home. Another neighbor is expecting her husband to be home soon. I spent some time chatting with one of those wives, a friend of mine, yesterday, and found out that she won’t even ask her husband if he’s near all the rioting. She’s already dealing with some mild insomnia, you see, and has no desire to make it worse.

These are good people, brave men – one of whom, judging by the bumper sticker, actually voted for the guy whose spineless, pantywaist penchant for inappropriate apologetics has now put him and his comrades-in-arms in even more danger of coming home in a box.

Just when I thought my indignity meter could go no higher, Obama dropped another bomb on the military in the form of his budget proposal, in which he outlines his desire for enormous increases to Tricare premiums for veterans, active duty military, and their families.

It was back during the New Deal era that companies started offering benefits as part of employee compensation packages, mainly as a way to get around FDR’s arbitrary salary caps; as such, it is now common for people to take a lower-paying job because the benefits make up for the cut in pay. It’s no secret that military personnel receive a fraction of the take-home pay that they would be getting in the private sector, but this is offset somewhat by housing benefits and Tricare, the military health care program. (Also, the fact that the military paid for your training in the first place.)

Anyone who’s had to deal with the labyrinth of red tape that is Tricare can tell you that it’s not ideal. This is not because of incompetence – these aren’t graduates of BillyBob’s Online School of Self-Medicatin’ or anything – it’s the result of the unholy trinity of massive bureaucracy, lots of patients, and cushy, cushy job security. My most recent experience in military healthcare was actually pretty decent, but previous ones have ranged from facepalm-worthy to out-and-out infuriating. It’s a pretty clear-cut case of “You get what you pay for” — and now the Dumb Bastard wants to jack up premiums by up to 300% while cheerfully whistling past his union buddies??

(As an aside: my favorite question that I got from ObamaCare supporting friends was, “Well, Tricare is better than nothing, right?” Yes. Yes it is. And dog food is better than starving; that doesn’t mean you force everyone onto the Purina diet.)

In one of the speeches Michelle Obama gave on the 2008 campaign trail, she promised something to the effect of, “Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual.” I think we can count this as a promise kept …

People of Pallor speak out

Barack said we need to have a conversation about race in America.

Fair enough.

But his idea of a “conversation” is just to repeat the same old litany that white Americans have been getting harangued with for the past forty years.

BTDT. Didn’t even get a crummy t-shirt.

Guess what, Barry … “conversations” are supposed to be two-way.

White America should be heard … not just lectured to.

For example, we would like to point that the United States of America has been the best country on earth for black folks.

We would also like to point out that nowhere on earth have any people done more to improve the lives of People of Color than have American People of Pallor.

White America is not responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for black Americans is seven times that of white Americans.

Nor is it white America’s fault that the black illegitimacy rate has hit 70 percent or that their high school dropout rate in some cities has reached 50 percent.

Those things are failings of the black community, most specifically the black men who have been content to be gangsters and sperm donors, rather than husbands and fathers.

When are People of Color going to quit blaming People of Pallor for all their problems and buckle down to finding solutions for those problems?

We’ve all heard ad nauseam about white-on-black crimes, including those like Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena that ALL turned out to be hoaxes.

When are we going to hear about the epidemic of black-on-white crimes?

  • White criminals choose black victims only 3 percent of the time.
  • Black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time.

When you get to specific crimes, the difference is far worse.

  • Black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than white-on-black rapes.
  • In the first years of this decade, black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common as white-on-black robberies.

When are liberals going to get real about the fact that “racism” means “hatred or intolerance of another because of their RACE” not “white hatred for blacks”?

When are they going to remember that Martin Luther King, Jr.’s great dream was that his children would be judged by the content of the CHARACTER?

Mr. President, white America would really like to have a CONVERSATION with you on race, because truth be told, we’re pretty damn sick of being the ones who are persecuted for the color of our skin.

Media bias against fracking

Fracking may not be a huge issue where you live; it is where I live!

But even if you’ve never heard of it, you should care, because there is enough natural gas under our own soil to provide our needs for more than the next CENTURY.

The best way to get it is by fracking. The Left doesn’t want us to frack. They claim fracking causes water pollution. Never mind that it’s been done safely for more than 30 years in other communities across the country.

Here in Tompkins County, land-owners legally sold the rights to fracking companies to drill on their land. The Lefties sued and the local liberal judge found in their favor.

The local case will go to a higher court on appeal and I hope the fracking companies and land-owners win, because we need the gas and we can get it safely.

And also because I’m so SICK of the Left’s lies about me and my peeps.

In the 2011 local elections, the Democrat’s campaign was a non-stop barrage of “Republicans don’t CARE about water quality!”

Excuse me? We don’t drink water? We don’t have children? OUR candidates were talking about REGULATING frackers so we could have the gas AND safe water.

I’m so SICK of the Left painting me and mine with this broad “EVIL, RACIST, HOMOPHOBIC, NARROW MINDED, STUPID” brush.

Who’s stupid and narrow minded? The Republicans who learned how fracking is done, brought in representatives from communities where fracking has been going on for years, and talked to the companies that bought and the land-owners that sold the leases? OR the Democrats who just bellowed, “Oh My God Republicans Are So EEEEEVILLLLL”?

We are NOT, dammit. What we WANT is for America to SAFELY and RESPONSIBLY tap local sources of fossil fuels, so we can enjoy lower prices, a higher standard of living, and fewer “blood for oil” wars.

We’re NOT stupid. We know the fossil fuels will run out. Duh. But what’s the point of leaving it in the ground? Huh? It’s not like these green technologies are safe or affordable YET. It’s not like any of them can even heat or cool your home, never mind fuel industry.

It takes ENERGY and lots of it to have the conveniences and technology most of us enjoy. Materials have to be mined and manufactured, transported, assembled, transported, packaged, transported, offered for retail sale, and transported again until finally, you get to have it at your own home or business.

And for now, the FACT is that almost all of this requires fossil fuel.

(Unless you want to use nuclear power plants, which the greenies also abhor, but that’s another whole story.)

Why do you think the cost of food and postage and pretty much everything else you buy has gone up so much in the past 3 years?

Because the cost of FUEL has gone up.

Unless you’re Amish, even the organic produce you buy in season at the farmer’s market has fossil fuels in their past.

And why has fuel gone up?

Because Obama et al. banned U.S. companies from doing off-shore drilling (while selling the rights to other countries, whose drilling operations are not subject to the environmental regulations ours are).

Because Obama et al. canceled drilling leases that were granted under Bush.

Because Obama et al. refused to allow the pipeline from Canada to come here.

Because Obama’s bffs in Tompkins County and elsewhere are trying to legislate and/or sue to stop fracking everywhere they can.

I’m so SICK of it. And I’m especially SICK of the MEDIA’s cooperation in LYING about these things.

Fox News is the only major news source that isn’t acting like the public relations arm of the Democratic National Party. The rest of them are not just grossly left-biased, they’re PROUD of it.
