The article below (thanks, Pete!) provides a bunch of statistics to prove Democrats are still doing all they can to use and abuse our voting laws to their own partisan advantage.

They were doing it back when they were the party demanding that only the literate be allowed to vote (because blacks mostly weren’t). And they were doing it back when they founded the KKK and assaulted blacks who presumed to vote. Why? Because back then, blacks mostly voted for the party Lincoln helped found for the express purpose of ending slavery. I.e., the Republican Party.

Then, blacks began to vote in large enough numbers that it no longer won elections for Democrats to show off what flaming racists they were. So,  like Senator Byrd who went from being a leader in the KKK to being a celebrated champion of black civil rights, Democrats overnight reinvented themselves as the party that had “always” defended civil rights for minorities.

The historical record shows the lie in this, but as long as the Democrats and their powerful public school union supporters keep blacks poor and illiterate courtesy of crappy ghetto public schools, black voters are unlikely to learn that …

Democrats were behind all the Jim Crow laws requiring private business owners to enforce segregation whether they wanted to or not
Democrats fought the hardest to prevent federal civil rights legislation from passing
When it was finally pushed through by Republicans, Democrat and flaming racist President Johnson took credit for it, saying it would “keep those damn niggers voting Democrat for fifty years.”

In 2004, when the Bush-Gore Florida vote was being recounted, while making Lots of Noise about giving voters from poor areas the benefit of the doubt about their inappropriately punched ballots for Gore, Democrats demanded that military absentee ballots NOT EVEN BE OPENED unless they met a variety of unrealistic standards that weren’t included in the voter instructions.

E.g., if some guy in a war zone had sent his ballot home in a box to his mom, asking her to make sure it got mailed on time, Democrats demanded it be thrown out because it had a U.S. postmark. And why would they do this? Because the military votes overwhelmingly Republican.

A few years ago, the Obama DOJ refused to prosecute a slam-dunk (it’s on YouTube, for crying out loud) voter intimidation case because the black perps were menacing voters on Obama’s behalf.

Now it seems the “new kind of politics” Obama and his “Democrats first last and always” DOJ is SELECTIVELY targeting states for not doing a good enough job upholding voter registration laws IN SOME PLACES.

They are targeting only the registration efforts of welfare offices and other places whose denizens tend to vote Democrat, while IGNORING the mandated, but totally anemic registration efforts of military recruitment centers and bases whose denizens tend to vote Republican.

(The latter could be solved in a week if the Commander in Chief were to just pick up the damn phone and tell his generals to get the lead out … but I’m not holding my breath.)
