I married my first wife when I was 24 and she was pregnant.That’s how it was done back then.I thought I could get along with anyone,but she was as immature as I was.
It was about five years after my divorce that I met my second wife who was 10 years my junior with a three year old boy.She worked two days a week as a nurse and I worked a full time job and delivered pizzas on weekends to give her whatever she wanted.She convinced me to legally adopt her son after about 7 years of marriage because her ex was a deadbeat dad.
Unbeknownst to me she hooked up with a guy from our church who was even lazier and more worthless than she was.She convinced a judge her son was afraid of me,although I never went anywhere without him.I paid 25% of my income for 6 years,and haven’t seen him since 1992.He’ll be 31 on March 5.
My fishing partner’s wife had a best friend they introduced me to 18 years ago and we’ve been together since.We were in our 40’s and had no illusions about how hard a relationship could be.We’ve had disagreements,to be sure,but to my knowledge we’ve never had a serious fight.She claims one of the reasons she married me was because I made her laugh.It must be true because after 18 years she doesn’t laugh when I take my clothes off anymore.
She has a son and a daughter she raised for many years after her ex walked out on them.Her daughter tries to keep in touch for holidays and birthdays,but my stepson will have nothing to do with him for any reason.I’m the only grandpa their kids know.
My stepson has a daughter,16 and a son,14 and you already know about Miss Isabel and Miss Olivia,who are my stepdaughter’s little gifts from God.

There was an article a couple weeks ago about thousands of people who won money in the Illinois lottery getting their checks–which promptly bounced.The comptroller called it a ‘bookkeeping error’ and said the state would make good.However the bank fees for checks people had written after they deposited the state checks were the peoples’ problem.
I TURNED ON FOX WHEN I GOT HOME FROM DELIVERING PAPERS THIS MORNING AND THE CRISCO KID WAS ON WITH STEVE AND BRIAN.THIS WOMAN IS COMPLETELY OUT OF HER MIND.CHECK THIS VIDEO:
FACT: When tax rates have been INCREASED, the poorest Americans suffered the most.
EVIDENCE: In the 1930s, President Hoover dramatically increased tax rates. President Roosevelt compounded the damage by pushing marginal tax rates to more than 90 percent. The result was the Great Depression.
FACT: When tax rates have been REDUCED, government revenues have INCREASED.
EVIDENCE: In the 1920s, tax rates were slashed dramatically. Government revenues increased more than 61%.
EVIDENCE: In the 1960s, President Kennedy reduced the top tax rate by 20%. Government revenues increased by 33%.
EVIDENCE: During the 1980s, President Reagan made sweeping tax rate reductions. Government revenues increased by 99%.

Obama’s actual reply was, “I would look at raising the capital gains tax for purposes of fairness.” Then, he blathered on about some bad successful people who made more money than he felt was moral.
In academic terms, it would be like if I got an A and you got a C, Obama would give both of us a B. That way, I wouldn’t be rewarded with a scholarship to the college of my choice and you could get into a bunch of colleges where you couldn’t possibly hope to succeed.
Lies and division continue to be two of the Democrats’ favorite ploys … all in the name of “transparency” and “fairness” of course. /sarc

“Millionaire job creators are like unicorns. They’re impossible to find, and they don’t exist… Only a tiny fraction of people making more than a million dollars, probably less than 1 percent, are small business owners. And only a tiny fraction of that tiny fraction are traditional job creators… Most of these businesses are hedge fund managers or wealthy lawyers. They don’t do much hiring and they don’t need tax breaks.”
True to form, the Leftist Media didn’t bother to fact check. They just reported the Democrat Talking Point of the Week:
“Harry Reid says millionaires who create jobs are as rare as unicorns!”
NPR even went so far as to launch the kind of boots-on-the-ground, nose-to-the-grindstone, journalistic digging-up-of-the-truth that one has come to expect from tax-funded Leftist “news” organizations. /sarc
First … they called “numerous Republican congressional offices, including House and Senate leadership” asking for the names of millionaire job creators they could interview.
Then … when they couldn’t find a single Republican who was DUMB ENOUGH to hand any private American over to NPR’s tender loving mercy, NPR triumphantly reported that, by GUM, Harry must be right!

His goofy reference to unicorns was supposed to suggest that evil-greedy-racist Republicans are LIARS when they claim that raising taxes will slow job creation.
The tax Harry was unicorning for was a 1.9% surcharge on millionaires.
According to Paul Roderick Gregory at Forbes, that would raise AT MOST eleven billion dollars.
This is provided, of course, said scumbag millionaires didn’t go do something sneaky to avoid it, like hire a tax lawyer to find loopholes … oh wait, that would be kinda like creating a job, wouldn’t it. Whoops. My bad.
But let’s just suppose Harry was right and his “Envy the Rich” tax increase on millionaires would bring eleven billion extra bucks into federal coffers.
Wow! Eleven BILLION smackeroonies!
Let’s just balance that old budget with all that extra moolah, shall we?
