“It’s undeniable that the border crisis is out of control,” Christina Pushaw, press secretary to DeSantis told The Epoch Times. “Helping our fellow Americans in their moment of need is always the right thing to do. The governors of other states have sent resources to Florida in the past to help respond to natural disasters. On Thursday, the Supreme Court ruled unanimously that the state can’t shut down a Catholic adoption agency that refused to compromise its Christian values.

‘Frisco used to be a beautiful city and a popular tourist destination. I went once and loved it. Now, thanks to the idjits running the place, the only people living there are the ultra rich, the poor, mentally ill, and drug addicted homeless, and an ever-shrinking middle class.

I’m thinking the closing of local stores will mainly hurt the homeless who can’t drive to stores or shop on-line. However, there’s a bright side to this. If the homeless flee, the über rich can finally have the city all to themselves … which may be what they’re after.

TEXAS: Gov. Abbott has signed a “trigger” bill into law that will begin banning abortions completely or as much as the U.S. Supreme Court allows after overturns Roe v. Wade. The ban would go into effect 30 days after the Supreme Court rules. Exceptions would be allowed for risks to the mother’s life or a “substantial impairment of major bodily function.” Abortionists who violate the measure could face fines or prison time.

TRANS: An emeritus professor of psychology and neuroscience at Duke University has been removed from an American Psychological Association (APA) email group for posting: “Hmm… Binary view of sex false? What is the evidence? Is there a Z chromosome?”

BORDER: On Tuesday, former President Donald Trump announced he is accepting Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s invitation to visit the crisis at the border. They hope to draw attention to what Trump called “grave and willful dereliction of duty” by his successor.

CATHOLIC: A recent CatholicVote poll found that 74% of Mass-attending Catholics believe that “Catholic public officials who disagree with their Church on serious or grave matters” should “avoid creating confusion and disunity by not presenting themselves for communion.”

Catholic Vote President Brian Burch says, “These are the Catholics our Bishops should be listening to.”

FAUXTUS: He wanted to visit the Vatican and celebrate Mass with Pope Francis. The Vatican said nope.

“Our sources confirm that there was indeed a plan for the President to visit the Vatican, with the hope that he could attend Mass as part of his European trip,” said CatholicVote President Brian Burch Tuesday. “If he received Communion at the Vatican — whether directly from Pope Francis or not — it would surely have been used by partisans to influence the anticipated discussion expected among the Bishops in the United States later this week.”

ILLINOIS: From Clarissa – “In Illinois, two-year-olds will continue to get masked in daycare until they can be vaccinated.

“Why?

“Here’s the explanation from the governor’s office and I quote: ‘Now that fewer adults get infected, COVID might move on to infecting kids.’

“Because apparently COVID is sentient and rational. It thought about its options and decided to become dangerous to kids in an exercise of free will.”

MASKS: A group of parents in Gainesville, FL, sent 6 face masks to a lab at the University of Florida, requesting an analysis of contaminants found on the masks after they had been worn. The resulting report found that five masks were contaminated with bacteria, parasites, and fungi, including three with dangerous pathogenic and pneumonia-causing bacteria. Although the test is capable of detecting viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, only one virus was found on one mask (alcelaphine herpesvirus 1).

The analysis detected the following 11 dangerous pathogens on the masks:

  • Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumonia)
  • Mycobacterium tuberculosis (tuberculosis)
  • Neisseria meningitidis (meningitis, sepsis)
  • Acanthamoeba polyphaga (keratitis and granulomatous amebic encephalitis)
  • Acinetobacter baumanni (pneumonia, blood stream infections, meningitis, UTIs—resistant to antibiotics)
  • Escherichia coli (food poisoning)
  • Borrelia burgdorferi (causes Lyme disease)
  • Corynebacterium diphtheriae (diphtheria)
  • Legionella pneumophila (Legionnaires’ disease)
  • Staphylococcus pyogenes serotype M3 (severe infections—high morbidity rates)
  • Staphylococcus aureus (meningitis, sepsis)

Half of the masks were contaminated with one or more strains of pneumonia-causing bacteria. One-third were contaminated with one or more strains of meningitis-causing bacteria. One-third were contaminated with dangerous, antibiotic-resistant bacterial pathogens. In addition, less dangerous pathogens were identified, including pathogens that can cause fever, ulcers, acne, yeast infections, strep throat, periodontal disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, and more.

The face masks studied were new or freshly-laundered before wearing and had been worn for 5 to 8 hours, most during in-person schooling by children aged 6 through 11. One was worn by an adult. A t-shirt worn by one of the children to school and unworn masks were tested as controls. No pathogens were found on the controls; samples from the front top and bottom of the t-shirt found proteins that are commonly found in skin and hair, along with some commonly found in soil.

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: Jack Denton was serving as the Student Senate president at Florida State University when he shared his Catholic faith with his peers — many of whom he considered friends — in a private chat.

People who were not his friends edited words spoken in love and concern to make him appear hateful and posted them in the internet. In the backlash, the university removed him from his office. One of his enemies said, “I am disgusted that other Catholics are attempting to stand behind him with his outdated and extreme cult mindset. Those who choose not to denounce Jack Denton tonight should expect the same action and scrutiny from the entire community moving forward.“

Alliance Defending Freedom took Denton’s case to court and won. Denton was reinstated and the university issued a statement affirming its intention to protect their students’ First Amendment rights, as well as restoring Denton’s lost wages, covering attorney’s fees and issuing $10,000 in damages to him.

MIDTERMS: Nine of the ten Republicans who voted to impeach former President Donald Trump earlier this year are already facing primary challenges from pro-Trump candidates.

NICKELODEON: Since Nickelodeon and its preschool-targeted network, Nick Jr., started overtly pushing an LGBTQ agenda, viewership has dropped by more than two thirds. Average viewership is now at a pathetic 372,000.

RACISM: A black man went on a two-state shooting spree in which he targeted white people he didn’t know, because they were white. You know how you can tell that the shooter was black and the victims were white? Because the media didn’t mention race at all.

CNN’s lede: “A 39-year-old man was arrested Saturday in connection with three separate shootings in less than 24 hours that wounded five people across the Columbus, Georgia, metro area, according to police.”

RANDOM ACT: Bobby Read asked Brooksville, Florida, if he could buy the small building in the photo to turn it into a gym. They said sure. At the closing, Read said he thought the legal description of the property was more extensive than what he intended to buy. City officials went meh and signed it over to him without checking.

Several days later, Read found out the parcel he had bought included the town’s water tower. Read, being a good guy, transferred the tower back to Brooksville. A local resident suggested it was time for “voters to replace the city council and the city manager.” Ya think?

RELIGIOUS FREEDOM: The pastor of Fairview Baptist Church in Calgary has been arrested for the second time for leading worship in violation of out-dated COVID-19 regulations.

Police found the outdoor service via helicopter, then surrounded worshipers with cruisers. Very North Korea, no? But despite the obvious and IMMINENT DANGER TO ALL FROM COOOOOVID, the cops just observed.

The next day, they went to Pastor Stephens’ home to arrest him … where there was nobody there to object but his wife and weeping children.

Shortly before police arrived, Stephens tweeted, “I just got a tip that the police may be on their way to arrest me. Why? I continue to lead our church to worship Jesus as Lord over every earthly power. More to come… Pray brothers and sisters. Stand firm, keep the faith.”

Kinda reminds me of St. Paul, you know?

TEAR GAS: D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) played into the media narrative that Trump had tear gassed peaceful protesters so he could have a photo shoot. Bowser was applauded by Democrats for turning the area into Black Lives Matter Plaza in honor of the protesters.

An investigation proved that the entire narrative was a lie. It wasn’t Trump who had peaceful protesters gassed; it was Bowser’s people who had violent protesters gassed. I hope Trump doesn’t hold his breath waiting on the execrable Muriel to apologize.

CATHOLIC: If you have ever heard or thought to yourself, “The Catholic Church is disgustingly rich; they should do more to feed the poor with all the money they have,” I suggest you read the articles below.

CHAUVIN: Derek Chauvin’s appeal will be based on prosecutorial misconduct.

Jack Cashill explains. “Prosecutors knew they had a problem. To make the murder charge stick in the Chauvin case, they had to secure an ‘asphyxia’ diagnosis from a physician. If justice were the goal, prosecutors would have taken two critical steps to assure that the medical testimony supported the charge of murder. The first was to run a controlled experiment to see if Chauvin’s actions could possibly have resulted in the death of George Floyd.”

They didn’t do that. However, someone else did. The experiment found that the Floyd-stand-in suffered absolutely no ill effects from being held in the same prone restraint as Floyd. There was no impact on the oxygen level or the pulse of the restrained man for the full 10 minutes and no other ill effects at the time or two days later when the stand-in was interviewed.

The other thing the prosecutors should have done, but didn’t “was to make the court and the defense aware of the potential compromise of its star medical witness, Hennepin County Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker.”

As my alert readers may recall, Dr. Baker’s autopsy initially ruled that Floyd’s body showed no signs of traumatic asphyxiation or strangulation. It noted that at the time of his death, Floyd was suffering from coronary artery disease, hypertensive heart disease, and a toxic dose of lethal drugs. Apparently, the prosecutors were unhappy with that finding and pressured him to change his findings before he testified.

COVID-19: WATCH THIS [16:13] – Peter Daszak once called the idea that the coronavirus virus had leaked from the Wuhan lab a “conspiracy theory.” According to him, there weren’t even any bats at the Wuhan lab. Now we learn that not only were there bats, but there were also humanized mice for engineering bat viruses to make them infectious to humans.

DOMINION: The same unapproved software has been found on Dominion voting machines in both Pennsylvania and Michigan. There is no valid reason for that software to be installed on any American voting machine. Not only can it be used to steal elections, but also its use is undetectable.

What Jordan replies is couched differently, but is something I learned a long time ago about having fruitful discussions with people who disagree with me about something or other. Specifically, I found it necessary to work backwards from the disagreement to find out where the other person’s logic train began.

In Euclidean geometry, there are three things that are not proven, but simply defined: point, line, plane. From these definitions, we can move logically step-by-step through “If this then that” proofs to learn other things that are true.

Symbolic Logic uses similar logical proofs to learn what is true and what is not true, but these proofs start with statements about reality that are accepted, not proven. If two intelligent people have arrived at different conclusions about reality, it is often because they began with different definitions.

Occasionally, I have been able to show this to another person and moved them from contempt to some level of understanding, if not agreement.

An administrator said, “We can’t keep up with what every doctor and what everyone is doing at all times. It’s a large hospital.”

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY: Gabrielle, a second grader in Illinois, liked to bring her Bible to school and read it during recess. A teacher told her “You just can’t be doing that,” and took it away from her. No student nor any parent of any student had complained about Gabrielle’s reading her Bible or had even mentioned it.

The ACLJ sent the school a letter educating the educators about the fact that, for more than fifty years, the Supreme Court has ruled that students do not “shed their constitutional rights to freedom of speech or expression at the schoolhouse gate.”

The school thanked the ACLJ for the information and removed all restrictions on Gabrielle’s reading. It seems the school wasn’t trying to squash Gabrielle’s rights; they were just scared spitless of the ACLU.

SUBSIDIARITY: From William Brooks at The Epoch Times – “The Catholic doctrine of subsidiarity means that interventions intended to alter and improve the human condition should generally be taken at the level of society closest to where they will have the greatest impact.

“The idea developed as part of Catholic social teaching, which states that ‘what individuals can accomplish by their own initiative and efforts should not be taken from them by a higher authority.’ As an organizing principle it means that civic matters should be handled at the lowest, smallest or least centralized level of administration. Where possible, cultural and political decisions should be taken at the local level rather than by a distant central authority.

BALTIMORE: Dozens of businesses in Baltimore are staging a tax coup, depositing all of the money they would normally pay to the city in fees and taxes into escrow accounts. They have notified city leaders that they will release the funds when the basic and essential municipal services are restored. These include trash pickup, enforcement of traffic and parking laws, stopping illegal open-air alcohol and drug sales, and empowering police to responsibly do their jobs.

IVERMECTIN: On May 25, the Indian Bar Association served a legal notice to Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, a Chief Scientist for the World Health Organization (WHO), accusing her of “[r]unning a disinformation campaign against Ivermectin by deliberate suppression of effectiveness of drug Ivermectin as prophylaxis and for treatment of COVID-19, despite the existence of large amounts of clinical data compiled and presented by esteemed, highly qualified, experienced medical doctors and scientists.”

When he didn’t get anywhere and told his therapist he had decided to transition to female, the therapist said, “I figured you would get to this point eventually.” I can’t help wondering if his lack of progress was due in large part to her lack of commitment to his stated goal.

Thoughts on the First and Second Seals

“Then I saw the Lamb open one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, ‘Come!’ I looked, and there was a white horse. Its rider held a bow; a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.” – Rev. 6:1-2

Recently, I read an End Times novel in which the rider of the white horse was interpreted as the Antichrist. This made no sense to me, because right before the opening of the first seal, it says, “Look! The Lamb of God, the Lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered so that he is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.” – Rev. 5:5

As a Catholic, I was taught to respond to “Have you been saved?” with “I have been saved; I am being saved; and I hope when my time comes, I will be saved.” The reference to Jesus who “has conquered” shortly followed by the rider who goes out on the white horse “conquering and to conquer” reminded me of this. So it feels right to me that Jesus is the rider on the white horse.

And when I looked it up to double check my thoughts, I noticed that when the second seal is opened, “Another horse went out, a fiery red one, and its rider was allowed to take peace from the earth, so that people would slaughter one another. And a large sword was given to him.” – Rev. 6:4

When I saw “Take peace from the earth”, I remembered the Catholic prophecies that tell us that, before the final tribulations, Jesus will come as the King of Mercy. All around the world, the sky will become black as the night, even where it is daytime, and everyone will Jesus on the cross. Each will be shown his or her soul and sinfulness as God sees them. And each will experience for a few minutes what it would be like (Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory) if they were to die at that moment. To me, that sounds like the first seal, with Jesus, the King of Mercy going out with his crown, conquering and to conquer.

Further, it has been prophesied that, immediately following the Warning, there will be a period of 6 weeks where the devil will not be allowed to act so that all will have the freedom to choose for or against God. In other words, there will be a period of peace. I’m thinking the second seal sounds like what will happen at the end of that six week period of peace, when the rider of the red horse is “allowed to take peace from the earth, so that people would slaughter one another.”

CRITICAL RACE THEORY: A new poll shows that the majority of American voters are deeply opposed to having critical race theory (CRT) principles being taught in schools.

Should schools teach that people are natural oppressors or victims based on their sex, race, and physical characteristics? No (86.6%).

Should schools teach that achieving racial justice and equality between racial groups requires discriminating against people based on their whiteness? No (84%).

FAUXTUS: Last week, “Not My President” told us that the greatest threat facing America is terrorism from white supremacy. Before that, it was disunity. Now, it’s climate change. Who knows what it will be next week?

HCQ: A new study has found that the use of weight-adjusted hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and azithromycin (AZM) greatly improved the survival of ventilated COVID-19 patients.

“We found that when the cumulative doses of two drugs, HCQ and AZM, were above a certain level, patients had a survival rate 2.9 times the other patients,” the authors of the study noted.

HUNTER’S POTTY MOUTH: Newly released Hunter Biden emails show him disparaging “fa**ots” and “d*kes” and calling his lawyer the N-word.

IOWA: On Tuesday, Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a bill into law that bans ballot harvesting in the state. The bill passed along party lines both in the House and the Senate.

Captain America (who pined for Peggy Carter for years, then went back in time to marry her) is now gay. And Star-Lord (who is famously played in the movies by a devout Christian) has been warped into a poly-amorous character. TRUMP VINDICATED: A year ago, Trump was accused of having tear gassed peaceful protesters just so he could walk from the White House to St. John’s Church for a photo op. Turns out they weren’t peaceful and he wasn’t the one who gassed them.

A report by Department of the Interior Inspector General states, “The evidence we reviewed showed that the USPP cleared the park to allow the contractor to safely install the antiscale fencing in response to destruction of property and injury to officers occurring on May 30 and 31. Further, the evidence showed that the USPP did not know about the President’s potential movement until mid- to late afternoon on June 1—hours after it had begun developing its operational plan and the fencing contractor had arrived in the park.”

VAX: A new study shows that the natural immunity enjoyed by recovered COVID-19 patients is as good as getting the vaccine. In fact, it’s probably better, because the vaccine only immunizes against the spike protein on the original COVID-19, whereas natural immunity covers the shape of the whole virus and is thus likely to better defend against variants.

VFAUXTUS: Don Surber writes, “A reader responded to my remark about Harris in yesterday’s highlights. I wrote, ‘Her staff is sabotaging her. She must be a monster to work for.‘

“He said, ‘Bingo!’ Then he told me about a sale he made last fall. It was ‘to a woman who had worked in Harris’ Sacramento US Senate office. This woman is in her 60s, an attorney and a life-long Democrat. She quit because working for Harris was simply intolerable.
