UKRAINE: Father Mykhailo Kramar, pastor of San Nicolas Parish in Kyiv, offered Divine Liturgy in the shelters, so that no one was left without the presence of the Eucharistic Christ.

VAXXX: Researchers at the New York State Department of Health gathered December 2021 and January 2022 vaxxx effectiveness data on 852,384 minors aged 12 to 17 and on 365,502 children aged 5 to 11. The results were then compared to similar unvaxxxed populations.

They found that 28 to 34 days after receiving the second dose – about one month – the Pfizer/BioNTech vaxxx effectiveness in the younger age group dropped from 67 % to 11%. The effective jumped with the 12 and overs, who receive a bigger dose, suggesting the lower dose doesn’t work.

Children do not suffer much of a risk from the virus, with hospitalizations and deaths being essentially zero in any who do not have serious co-morbidities.

COVID-19: On Friday, the CDC dramatically eased its mask guidelines in a way that suggests 72% of the U.S. population will no longer be required to wear them indoors. Most notably for me is that New York’s mask mandates will be gone tomorrow. Masks are also now optional in the D.C. Capitol building.

The changes in the CDC’s guidelines were not inspired by a change in COVID transmission, hospitalization, or death rates, but by a change in how the CDC counts these things. IOW, it was always all about politics, not about public health.

Iceland has decided that herd immunity is the way to go and dropped ALL COVID restrictions. Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, The Netherlands, and the UK have lifted some or most of their restrictions. Israel has abolished its vaxxx passport.

UPDATES: The Ukrainian military reportedly blew up multiple bridges outside of the capital city of Kyiv to stop Russian troops from advancing.

An adviser to the Ukrainian presidential office said that Russian forces have captured the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Zelensky called this move “one of the most serious threats in Europe today” and a “declaration of war across Europe.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree ordering a general mobilization of the population to defend the state. The country is also prohibiting Ukrainian males aged 18–60 from leaving the country. Zelensky said 137 Ukrainians were killed and 316 were wounded in the early hours of Thursday. The United Nations confirmed that more than 100,000 people have been internally displaced in Ukraine.

I had never heard of Pope Day before, likely because General George Washington put the kibosh on it way back in 1775.
