SOTU: The Prequel

President Trump will give his first State of the Union speech tonight. It should be far more interesting than Barky’s last one, even just for the agita the progtards will be suffering.

I never watched Obama spew his platitudes and outright lies, mostly because his voice was offensive to me. I may watch part of the speech tonight, but chances are I’ll just recap tomorrow.

Basically it’s a chance for him to tout his successful leadership in growing the economy, stemming the flood of illegal, and promoting America to the world instead of apologizing for her greatness.

The Democrats plan to have at least six — count ’em, six — rebuttals after his speech. The official response will be by some Kennedy (yes,one of THOSE). The most interesting will be by Gasoline Maxine, whose rebuttal will be repeating “Impeach 45! Impeach 45!” over and over until she has a seizure and passes out.

State of the Union To Emphasize Economy, Military Strength

It will focus on five broad topics: the economy, a $1-trillion-plus plan to rebuild infrastructure, Mr. Trump’s new immigration proposal that includes a pathway to citizenship 1.8 million young illegal immigrants, trade policy and a plan to rebuild the military.

“To Congress, the tone will be one of bipartisanship and very forward-looking,” a senior administration official said. “The economic upswing is helping everybody — all groups are benefiting.”

Maxine Waters set to respond to Trump after State of the Union

Waters, one of Trump’s most vocal critics, will appear on “Angela Rye’s State of the Union” on BET, according to BuzzFeed News.  Waters, who is one of several Democratic lawmakers who have said they will not attend Trump’s speech on Tuesday, has consistently criticized Trump throughout his presidency, repeatedly calling for his impeachment.

Joe Kennedy to bring transgender soldier to Trump’s State of the Union

SURE, WHY NOT?
Staff Sgt. Patricia King will be the lawmaker’s guest to Trump’s address, according to The Boston Globe.  King told the Globe that she realized she was a transgender woman while serving in the military, and soon came out to her family.

Trump announced last year that he was banning transgender people from serving in the U.S. military. However, courts have halted the ban and transgender people were allowed to enlist starting Jan. 1.

No habla inglés? No problemo. Virginia Del. Elizabeth Guzman will give the Democrats’ official Spanish-language response, although it’s not clear how her message will differ from Kennedy’s.

But that’s not all. Vermont’s Independent Sen. Bernie. Sanders will be speaking off-the-cuff after the state of the union during a live streamed event on social media. Remember, Sanders isn’t an official member of the Democratic Party, so he’ll be going rogue as he did in 2017.

Former Maryland congresswoman and candidate in the Prince George’s County executive race, Donna F. Edwards will speak on behalf of the Working Families Party after Sanders.

Donald Trump’s State of the Union address is coming up this Tuesday, but some students must have gotten a sneak peek, because they already hated it.

Don’t Answer His Questions, Mr. President

Take it from a veteran of Watergate.

One: There is no such crime as Russia/U.S. “Collusion.” The man who is running for President can talk to anyone he pleases. So can anyone who works for him. They can talk about anything except to disclose secret defense material.

Two: The Special Prosecutor is not a friend of Mr. Trump. He’s been in bed with Trump haters from the word “go”. He has no special place in history unless he hurts Trump very badly. He’s not going to just walk away from this without the trophy of inflicting heavy duty damage on Trump.

Three: Mr. Trump does not have to answer anyone’s f–king questions. He’s President. He can’t be cited for contempt. He can’t be indicted. He cannot be prosecuted especially for the non-existent crime of “collusion.” If he does not have to answer the questions and if the media will hurt him as much as they possibly can no matter what he does, why should he answer questions — especially under oath?

Mr. Trump, sir, this man wants to hurt you. Don’t help him. When you get back to D.C. from Davos, explain that you spoke too hastily, that you had not consulted your counsel. That you will have a look at written interrogatories and consider answering them with the help of your lawyers. Mr. Trump, this man, Mr. Mueller, is part of a conspiracy to drive you from office.

McConnell Announces Vote on Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced Wednesday that the Senate will vote next week on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act which would ban abortion at 20 weeks, the point at which science increasingly shows unborn babies feel pain.

“Last week Americans from all across the country, including many from Kentucky, came here to Washington to speak up for unborn children whom our legal system has denied the right to life,” McConnell said, referencing the recent March for Life.

Bad news for GOP: Pennsylvania Supreme Court tosses state’s congressional maps
It is difficult to exaggerate how damaging this ruling is to the GOP chances of holding the House.
The GOP may have just lost as many as four seats in the House—certainly at least one.
Yesterday, the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania ruled, by a vote of 5–2, that the state’s congressional districts amounted to an unconstitutional partisan gerrymander.
And here’s an even greater shock— the PA Supreme Court just so happens to have five Democrats and two Republicans
It is difficult to exaggerate how damaging this ruling is to the GOP.
Democrats need to win a net of 23 seats to take back the House. This decision may hand them 3 or 4 right off the bat.
But here is what happened in Pennsylvania: in 2015 Democrats won three supreme court vacancies in a clean sweep, ending the Republican majority. Democratic organizations, like the League of Women Voters that spearheaded the lawsuit in this case, realized they could exploit the results to circumvent the legislature and get a new map, all while never setting foot in a federal courthouse.

N.Y. Democrats unveil ad campaign to ‘replace and repeal’ federal tax law
ALBANY — The state Democratic Party — controlled by Gov. Cuomo — unveiled a “replace and repeal” ad campaign tied to the federal tax act.
Cuomo previously announced a campaign that would target at least six New York congressional Republicans as part of an effort to help flip the House to the Democrats in the November elections.
Again accusing Republicans in Washington of “having declared war on New York,” Cuomo, as part of the upcoming state budget talks, wants to find a way to revamp New York’s tax code to limit the impact of the federal law.

California To Business Owners: Half Of Your Savings From Trump’s Tax Bill Belongs To Us
The Democratic Party thinks your money is their money (typical) and the state legislature in California is making that explicitly clear. They’re pushing for business to fork over half of their tax savings to the state because this is what you get when Democrats are in charge.
As a constitutional amendment, the bill would require approval from two-thirds of the Legislature to pass, a difficult hurdle now that Democrats have lost their supermajority. If passed and signed by Gov. Jerry Brown, it would then go to voters for final approval.
Yeah, this would be a sure thing, but a few state Democratic representatives in Sacramento have been accused of gross sexual misconduct, which has led to chaos within the state party. This fiasco has cost the party their supermajority—at least for the beginning of 2018. How dare businesses get tax relief: the motto of a California Democrat.

Democrats just got rolled. They can blame Barack Obama.
During his 2008 campaign, Obama promised in a conversation with Univision anchor Jorge Ramos to make passing immigration reform one of his first legislative priorities, and even set a timetable. “I cannot guarantee that it is going to be in the first 100 days,” he said. “But what I can guarantee is that we will have in the first year an immigration bill that I strongly support and that I’m promoting. And I want to move that forward as quickly as possible.”
If he had wanted to act, he could have. Obama’s party controlled the House, and Democrats had a 60-vote filibuster-proof Senate majority. If Obama really wanted to pass either the Dream Act or comprehensive immigration reform, Republicans were powerless to stop him. But he didn’t do it.

The Senate failed to pass a cloture vote on a House-passed continuing resolution late Friday evening, just before government funding levels were set to expire.

Teachers in certain school districts will also not evaluate students with traditional testing methods but will rely more heavily upon presentations, projects and activities that students complete outside of the classroom. The students in the program will not receive GPA rankings.

Patrick Hardy, the principal for Illinois’ Proviso East district, said the program isn’t a perfect solution to fix the poor results Illinois’ school districts have regularly produced, but that there’s nothing to lose by trying something new. “We had a school on the brink of failure,” he said.

Illinois population trend could lead to one fewer congressional seat for state

ILLINOIS IS AMONG THE HIGH TAX STATES THAT ARE BLEEDING POPULATION. IT MAY LOSE 2 SEATS AFTER THE NEXT CENSUS.

In U.S. Census Bureau estimates released last month, Illinois’ population decreased by 22,000 people from 2014 to 2015. Because of the estimated drop, Election Data Services, a Virginia-based political consulting firm, projects Illinois will lose a representative in the U.S. House of Representatives.

7. CNN FALSELY reported about Anthony Scaramucci’s meeting with a Russian, but retracted it due to a “significant breakdown in process.”

8. Newsweek FALSELY reported that Polish First Lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda did not shake President Trump’s hand.

9. CNN FALSELY reported that former FBI Director James Comey would dispute President Trump’s claim that he was told he is not under investigation.

10. The New York Times FALSELY claimed on the front page that the Trump administration had hidden a climate report.

11. And last, but not least: “RUSSIA COLLUSION!” Russian collusion is perhaps the greatest hoax perpetrated on the American people. THERE IS NO COLLUSION!

Report: Highest-ever political bias in media, most can’t name ‘objective news source’

Americans see more political bias in news than ever, and nearly seven-in-10 blame media owners for influencing the ways stories are reported, according to the latest failing report card on the nation’s news business.

According to “American Views: Trust, Media and Democracy,” a new report from Gallup and the Knight Foundation, the percentage of Americans who see a great deal of political bias in stories has nearly doubled since 1989.

Leftist Toilet Mouths Condemn Trump as They Corrupt Nation

Let’s be clear: Leftists certainly object to the substance of Trump’s comments, that we shouldn’t continually absorb poor, unskilled, often functionally illiterate and unassimilable people from Third World nations. But they also object to his alleged style, labeling as obscene the use of s***hole (toilet) to describe such places. So to show us how bad such language is, the Crude News Network (CNN), for example, used it at least 36 times on Thursday. It’s sort of like inveighing against animal abuse and then bludgeoning dozens of dogs to death on air to prove your point.

Dems Think 800,000 Illegal Immigrants Are Worth Forcing Active Military To Go Without Pay

Congress has three days to strike a deal to keep the government funded through October. If members fail to come to an agreement by Jan. 19, all “non-essential” government employees and active U.S. Military personnel will be working with out pay (including troops currently deployed). Funding for agencies like federal museums or national parks will also be cut off.

Congressional Democrats are apparently content with allowing military and law enforcement personnel to go without pay to secure protections and benefits for illegal immigrants and members of their extended families.

Importantly, three Democratic officials in states that went heavily for Trump in 2016 — Indiana Sen. Joe Donnelly, West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin and Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill — were all absent. Sens. McCaskill and Manchin said they were not invited to the White House event.

Normally, the lawmakers who represent states that voted for the other party’s presidential nominee are the most bipartisan — even if it’s just to listen. Early on, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota and Sen. Donnelly hopped on a plane with Trump. But now that they’re in the heat of fundraising, they do not want any part of it.

Democrats Block 2018 Budget, Gain Another Month to Push Amnesty
Late Tuesday, the GOP gave up on 2018 budget talks and drafted a new temporary budget plan, dubbed a Continuing Resolution, which would keep the government open for another month until February 16. That date will mark almost five months after the 2018 budget was slated to begin October 1.

If the CR passes the House and Senate, the GOP and the Democrats will get another month to develop a 2018 budget while Democrats gain another month to wear down GOP and Trump opposition to their amnesty-plus plan.

Don’t fall for Operation Demoralize 2018

The key to Democrat victory in November 2018 is to keep Republican voters home.

WHEN THE DEMOCRATS FLIPPED A REPUBLICAN SEAT IN WISCONSIN LAST WEEK. THE DEMOCRAT TURNOUT WAS 35%… THE REPUBLICAN TURNOUT WAS 12%.

I would not be surprised to see that strategy used more generally against Trump supporting Republicans in the House. And it could be effective. Someone who normally would vote Republican but stays home is as good as a vote for Democrats.

So expect there to be a sustained effort to demoralize Republican voters, Trump supporters, and independents who are willing to vote Republican. That’s part of the reason Democrats and the media have shifted to round-the-clock accusations of racism against Trump.  I have written about this phenomenon in the past. I call it Operation Demoralize.

Trump schools GOP Congress to play hardball

Instead of rolling over for Democrats and virtuously claiming they’ve “reached across the aisle,” as they always have done, Republicans are now playing hardball. They’ve maneuvered to put entitlements and swing state-sensitive tax cuts on the line as bargaining chips to avoid a government shutdown. In doing this, they have just laid out a plan to beat the Democrats at their own game.

Do Democrats really want to face the 18 million parents whose nine million children use the CHIP program to explain that all that could come to an end because of the Democratic Party’s higher priority of amnestying 800,000 DREAMers? Do they really want to face the New England voters in the medical device industry, which has been singled out for punitive Obamacare taxes, or explain themselves to all the union workers set to pay massive Obamacare “Cadillac” taxes just for the “privilege” of having good health care insurance?

Voters don’t actually want Oprah to run for president

“Oprah’s strong standing among Democrats does not translate to a clear interest in her launching a presidential campaign,” said Kyle Dropp, co-founder and chief research officer of Morning Consult. “While 77 percent of Democrats have a favorable opinion of Oprah, only 38 percent say she should run in 2020.”

President Trump to Address March for Life

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders announced Wednesday afternoon President Trump will speak to the March for Life in Washington D.C. on Friday. He is the first sitting president to do so. He will address the crowd live through a video conference.

“Since his first day in office, President Trump has remained steadfast on his campaign promises to the pro-life cause and has actively worked to protect the unborn…We welcome our 45th President, Donald Trump, to the 45th annual March for Life,” March for Life President Jeanne Mancini said in a statement.

Judge Upholds Alabama Voter ID Law In Win For Common Sense

A federal judge in Alabama has thrown out a lawsuit against the state’s voter ID law, finding that the law doesn’t prevent anyone from voting because “nearly the entire population of registered voters in Alabama already possess a photo ID that can be used for voting.”

For those who don’t, obtaining a qualifying ID can be done “with little to no effort and no cost.”
