In Case You’re Not Keeping Up

There’s a battle raging in D.C. that you may not be aware of or even fully understand. Here’s an attempt to simplify things a bit.

Consumer Protection Finance Bureau … that’s the last time I type that because pecking away at this keyboard I’m 8 thumbs and two middles fingers. Henceforth it is now simply CFPB.

This dirty little deed came about during the Dodd-Frank disaster that ruined the economy and led to the ascent of one Barack Obama. Lieawatha Warren was once the head of this thing.

Rush can summarize it far better than I can:

Rush:  The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. This is another little liberal enclave that was established by liberal Democrats, including Elizabeth Warren, that was set up as an agency that was unaccountable to anyone. It even had a budget that was unaccountable to the U.S. budget. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd set this thing up and Elizabeth Warren was the real driver of this particular organization, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

This was an independent agency set up to be able to legally get money from the financial industry and then turn around and give it to left-wing activist groups. And that’s what they were doing with it. And that’s why they are so desperate to hold on to it. The point is, it’s unconstitutional, and that’s the only thing that matters.

RICHARD CORDRAY, WHO IS STEPPING DOWN TO RUN FOR GOVERNOR OF OHIO, ILLEGALLY APPOINTED HIS UNDERLING, LEANDRA ENGLISH, AS ACTING DIRECTOR.  HE HAS NO AUTHORITY TO DO THAT.

Rush:  There’s something called the Federal Vacancies Reform Act which allows the president, who runs the executive branch, to appoint successors to people in federal agencies under the executive branch umbrella leaving. This thing was set up to be an independent agency accountable to no one. Its very existence is unconstitutional. The left knows it. That’s why they’re hell-bent, Cordray named this Leandra English to succeed him.

The money went to unions. The money went to states and teachers and union members to keep them employed during the Great Recession. The reason for that is, those people need to be employed in order to pay union dues. Union dues are collected from what they make and are sent in a circuitous route back to the Democrat Party in the form of campaign donations. So the stimulus was a substitute for Obama walking over to the Treasury and writing a check for $800 billion to the Democrat National Committee.

•$46,611 to Hillary Rodham Clinton.
•$13,190 to Sen Elizabeth Warren.
•$19,988 to President Obama.
•$10,075 to Democratic campaign committees.
•$1,129 to Sen. Bernie Sanders.

CFPB Joins Justice In Shaking Down Banks For Democrat Activist Groups
The CFPB plans to create a so-called Civil Penalty Fund from its own shakedown operations targeting financial institutions. Through ramped-up (and trumped-up) anti-discrimination lawsuits and investigations, the agency will bankroll some 60 liberal nonprofits, many of whom are radical Acorn-style pressure groups. It says these organizations will provide “financial coaching” for low-income homebuyers, as well as “housing and social services.”

Obama’s Department of Housing and Urban Development is also getting in on the act.

In a $200 million settlement with Associated Bank, which the agency accused of lending discrimination, HUD is forcing the Wisconsin bank to funnel tens of millions in “donations” to “community groups.”

This is extortion of private business by government. Congress’ new leadership must call on the agency’s inspector general and the Government Accountability Office to audit these pernicious payola schemes.

It turns out that Cordray, quite illegally, on his way out named his deputy, Leandra English, as the temporary director. When Mulvaney arrived at work Monday morning, he was forced to issue a memo saying “Please disregard any instructions you receive from Ms. English in her presumed capacity as acting director.”

This week, Gupta was in court representing Leandra English, who claims she is acting director Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. When Trump picked Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney to fill the position, English sued, arguing that as deputy director the law puts her in charge.

Secret Donors Are Financing Leandra English Lawsuit Against Trump

The D.C. lawyer appeared caught off guard when CNBC hosts asked who was financing his effort. He stumbled over his words in his first answer and said some form of unidentified “structure” was being put in place to accept funds from anonymous donors.

“Well, uh, it’s, it’s not, um, Miss, um English, um, ah. There are ethics lawyers that we’ve consulted, and we have a structure set up that is with ethics rules and, um, we’ll and we’ll be talking about that once we have that,” he told CNBC.

A U.S. District Court judge in Washington handed a big victory to President Donald Trump, ruling in favor of the administration in its bid to install White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney as acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Judge Timothy Kelly denied a request by Leandra English, who was named last week as acting director by outgoing CFPB chief Richard Cordray, for a temporary restraining order to block Mulvaney from taking the post.

Who Knew?

At some point, exactly when is unknown as far as I can tell, the slime merchants who infest Washington, D.C., who laughingly refer to themselves as “representatives of the people” knew to concoct something called an Office of Compliance, funded with taxpayer dollars to pay off the victims that they pinch, paw and fondle on a regular basis. The numbers that have been made public say that 256 victims have been paid over $16 million to date.

These victims have little choice except to take the money and sign the standard ‘confidentiality agreement.’ If they report the molester, they get exposed, the big shot goes to trial (maybe) and gets no punishment. Meanwhile, the victim resigns/gets fired and is left with nothing and no future. The ones with the power hold all the cards. They know it, which is why they act with such blatant disregard for the laws they write to make everyone else follow.

If the Weinstein case had come up in January of 2016, Donald Trump may never have been elected president. Considering the ferocity the leftists/media/DC elite are assaulting Roy Moore, how many phony “victims” could they have created to smear Trump? That’s all you would have heard about. Media whores are experts at putting pressure on republicans, regardless of how obviously unfounded the accusations may be. The abuse by the powerful of those they prey upon has been happening for a very long time and will certainly continue unabated, if unreported. As the old saying goes: power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Happy Race Neutral Friday

The original title was going to be “Happy race neutral, non-gender specific, nonbinary, gluten-free, nonjudgmental, pasteurized, homogenized, lactose free, gun free, zenith of crass commercialism Friday.” But it wouldn’t fit.

We have entered the month of retail Armageddon known as the Christmas shopping season. My promise to you is that you will never see ‘xmas’ in any reference to the celebration of Christ’s birth in anything I post. We are not ashamed of who we are.

Doing my paper delivery this morning, I passed through the parking lot of a Menard’s and a Target store. There were a few people at 3:30, but it’s not like it was some years ago when stores didn’t begin the orgy of spending on Thanksgiving night.

There was a time in my foolish youth when I enjoyed going to shopping malls, buying gifts, fighting crowds, immersed in the frenzy of the day.

When I was in college we played a game called ‘the parking lot game.’ Sick, but fun. We’d park in the last row at the mall and go inside. When we came out there were cars circling the parking lot like so many mechanical buzzards, cruising for a parking spot near the front. We’d take out our keys and pretend we were looking for where we parked and see how many cars we could get to follow us looking to grab a spot, like so many sheep following a Judas goat. Three was the most we ever scored. Perverse, twisted, cruel, but all we were really doing was using other peoples’ greed and sloth to amuse ourselves.

These days I can’t imagine people actually subjecting themselves to the bad attitudes of sales people and the short tempers of shoppers looking for deals on big screen TVs. What little shopping I do is accomplished from right where I’m sitting now. Go online, order what you want, and they send it to your door. No muss, no fuss, no smart asses playing the parking lot game.

Hoping everyone had a wonderful day yesterday. It was quiet around here for the most part, just my stepson and I enjoying a football game and gorging on his mama’s culinary expertise. It all seems so pointless somehow. Two weeks of preparation, two days of getting ready for family, and in a half hour it’s over. Now comes four weeks of shopping, decorating, wrapping, tree buying and installation, and in a matter of hours it’s over. Nothing else to look forward to for four months but cold, ice, and snow. It’s called life and we learn to live it.

There is a mix of regular political nonsense leavened with some warm items to help your digestion today.

New Jersey Woman Raises More Than $200K for Homeless Man Who Bought Her Gasoline
Kate McClure, a 27-year-old from New Jersey, told the Inquirer that as she was traveling to Philadelphia to visit a friend, her car suddenly ran out of gasoline. McClure said she was nervous and scared, as the neighborhood where her car stopped was sketchy.
“My heart was beating out of my chest,” McClure said. “I didn’t know what the heck to do.”

After calling her boyfriend, 38-year-old Mark D’Amico, who promised to come get her, McClure said a homeless man named Johnny approached her car to help.

They learned he is Johnny Bobbitt Jr., 34, from the Raleigh, N.C., area. He was an ammunition technician in the Marines. His Facebook page includes photos and posts that trace a romantic relationship from its happier days to its 2014 breakup

According to McClure, Johnny — who takes care of two other men under a bridge in the area — told her to lock her car doors and that he would return.

Johnny told her to sit tight and that he would spend his last $20 to buy gas a few blocks away. “He said, ‘I’ll be back. Trust me,’” McClure told the Inquirer.

Ten minutes after speaking with McClure, Johnny returned with a gallon of gas that he had bought with his last $20.

Johnny told McClure that he is interested in working at the Robbinsville, New Jersey, Amazon warehouse so he can get health benefits and make a decent living.

Though McClure and D’Amico continued passing through to see Johnny in Philadelphia, they still felt they could do more. That is when they decided to fund raise to help change Johnny’s life, setting up a GoFundMe page that has far exceeded the $10,000 goal the couple originally set.

“He knows where he’s at and he knows what he has to do to dig himself out,” D’Amico told the Inquirer. “It’s almost impossible to dig himself out if he has nobody and nothing. If we can raise enough money to set him up for a few months, where he doesn’t have to worry about where he’s going to sleep and what he’s going to eat, then he can get a job and go about his life.”

‘Miracle Park’ to be built in Rock Hill will be designed specifically for people with special needs


The so-called Miracle Park is a dream of the York County Disabilities Foundation. Last week, the foundation presented the idea to Rock Hill’s City Council, pushing the project forward.

The Miracle Park would sit on a 15-acre piece of land, partially on the current “Winthrop Park.” The land is owned by both the City of Rock Hill (7 acres) and Winthrop University (8 acres). City Council agreed to lease the land to the non-profit for $1 a year, so the Foundation could purse the Miracle Park.

“A miracle field is basically a field made of synthetic rubber so that people with disabilities and wheel chairs can play on these fields,” Norman said.

Nebraska Approves Keystone XL Pipeline

The Nebraska Public Service Commission approved the Keystone XL pipeline, removing the last regulatory hurdle for the oil project after years of former President Barack Obama’s blocking the pipeline’s approval.

Border Patrol Agent Killed While On Duty In Texas
Agent Rogelio Martinez and his partner were responding to “activity” while on patrol near Interstate 10 when both reported they had been injured and were in need of assistance, according to a statement from Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

Democrats are such hypocrites. They routinely rant and rave about how the GOP is allegedly waging a war on women, ridiculing gentlemen like Vice President Pence and inventing faux gender crimes like Massachusetts Governor Romney’s “binders full of women”, which were actually binders full of women’s resumés that had been compiled by his gubernatorial staff, so he could pack his administration with highly qualified women.

Holy Crap! It’s Almost Thanksgiving!

It just came too quick this year. It’s one of those rare times when there are 5 Thursdays in November, giving retailers that precious extra week to push their stuff. I hear this year’s hot toy is Fingerlings, some sort of interactive monkey that fits on your finger. I saw a sign at WalMart the other day that said a limit of 2 fingerlings a day. I also heard about something called Hatchimals, which are like an egg and some sort of critter is supposed to hatch out of it. All sounds too creepy to me. Thank goodness my youngest grandchild is 10 and just about over most toys. My wife finally got a smart phone earlier this year and the 10 year old showed her how to operate it and downloaded some apps, whatever they are, for her. I hate being an electronic retard in the digital age. Fortunately I can extort labor from my kids when needed by reminding them who taught them how to use a fork and use a potty.

Not a day goes by without another athlete/politician/actor/window washer/ insurance agent/Wal Mart greeter/two-peckered billy goat is not accused of assault, rape, harassment, static cling, or the heartbreak of psoriasis. I feel a little left out, like the last kid picked when choosing up sides for a ball game. What I need help with is this:

I need some women to come forward and publicly announce I was naughty in the 1970s. It has to be that far back since the Pistol Pete thrill ride shut down many, many years ago. I have high blood pressure, severe emphysema, and a pacemaker, so it would kill me anyway. Doesn’t matter, nobody needs proof, just get a hold of Gloria Allred and have her call a news conference. It would make me feel better knowing I’m one of the cool people, even if it’s no more credible than the accusations against Judge Moore.

I have to say that Franken is one of the slimiest mouth breathers that inhabit the sewers of D.C. Can’t stand him, never could. He’s done one successful thing in his miserable life and that was write a book, the first two words of which were ‘Rush Limbaugh.’

The D. C. Comedy Tour

Most of you missed the show when it went live yesterday because you have jobs and lives and stuff. I didn’t catch it all since I have severe sleep apnea and doze off frequently. I did, however, attempt to put a reasonable summation of the various acts that took the stage. It was more of a tragicomedy, with the democrats performing their normal roles as rude, classless assclowns.
