BANKRUPTCY: The U.S. budget deficit will top $3 Trillion this year and Biden plans to add fuel to the fire via even more new spending.

CATHOLIC: The RCC in America is providing divided leadership about COVID vaccines. There’s Archbishop Strickland who is calling on Catholics to say no to forced jabs. In the middle are bishops like those in Kansas City and Phoenix who support our right to refuse.

And on the Left are Democrat strongholds like the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Diocese of Little Rock, San Antonio where the church is refusing to provide religious exemption letters.

CROATIA: [3:14] – Stjepan Hauser, a Croatian cellist, performs “Nessun Dorma” in a forest with a group of young musicians in this heartwarming music video. I’m sure these young musicians will always have fond memories of this wonderful day spent making beautiful music. Nessun Dorma (Italian for “Let no one sleep”) is an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini’s opera Turandot and one of the best-known tenor arias in all of opera.

DEPT of EDUCATION: The FAUXTUS Feds have opened investigations in five Republican-led states that ban mask mandates in schools, saying such policy could be discriminatory against students with disabilities. The states are Iowa, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Utah.

Afghanistan Disaster

VIDEO: [:48] – Former Central Intelligence Agency analyst Matt Zeller blasted the FAUXTUS administration for ignoring all their pleas to plan for an evacuation.

ALSO WATCH https://rumble.com/vlv70c-white-house-declined-taliban-offer-to-have-u.s.-troops-control-kabul-during.html [4:23] to hear how badly the FAUXTUS administration is mucking this up. Well, they’ve always said that Joe has been wrong on every foreign policy stance has ever taken during his half century in politics.

DISGRACEFUL: CENTCOM Commander Gen. Frank McKenzie said: “We did not get everybody out that we wanted to get out.” In fact, DoD has conceded they left “hundreds” of Americans behind in Afghanistan when the final U.S. troops departed Tuesday morning local time. Americans wishing to leave Afghanistan will now have to rely on diplomatic efforts by the State Department.

The letter stated: “The consequences of this disaster are enormous and will reverberate for decades beginning with the safety of Americans and Afghans who are unable to move safely to evacuation points; therefore, being de facto hostages of the Taliban at this time.”

I am upright … kinda

After 11 days in bed, I’ve had it. I NEED to feel clean and remind my blood pressure that vertical is fun too. Now … about the 222 emails in my IN box. It would be so easy to just cry off and lay down again … except I’m dirty and bored and it will only be that much worse tomorrow. I’ll offer it up for yawls salvation. 🙂

Back but not back

COVID test for both of us was negative and Dearest is thankfully fine, so he can nurse me, who is definitely not fine. I’m seeing improvement so thanking the Good Lord for that, Dearest’s TLC, and music. I’m too stupid to read, not that I get enough awake time for it to matter! This is what put me in ICU in 2016, but I’ve learned a lot in the meantime about self-care with homeopathics and essential oils. I only vomited one day, Instead of 2 + months. I’m losing the tiny brain I have so came on to say Hey and hope y’all can spend a moment in prayer. {{{{my my family]]]]]

Bits & Bytes

AFGHANISTAN: On Sunday, the Taliban took control of Bagram Air Base, a former American airbase that the U.S turned over to the Afghanistan government last month. They have reportedly released thousands of prisoners that were held at Bagram, including members of al Qaeda.

CLICK https://rumble.com/vl6xpo-shocking-even-cnn-cant-cover-up-bidens-latest-blunder.html [1:30] to hear how even CNN couldn’t spin this disaster as anything but an epic failure for “President” Biden. It’s not clear to me how he could be shocked that “Biden could be so wrong.” From what I heard, he’s been wrong on every single foreign policy since he entered politics half a century ago.

On Monday, after the Taliban declared the war was over and peace prevailed, five people were killed in chaos at Kabul airport.

CLICK https://rumble.com/vl8i4f-u.s.-suspends-evacuation-flights-from-kabul.html [5:05] to see people so frantic to escape the Taliban that they actually hang on to a plane that is taking off. Joe and Kamala have proven to be just as awful as we thought you would be.

I’m just thinking back to when the Democrats were shredding Bush 42 over the Iraq war, saying it was a stupid war … but Afghanistan was a smart war. Anybody else remember that?

FAUXTUS: He’s been in his stolen office for seven months. In that time, he has overseen a sharp rise in gasoline prices, opened our southern border to anyone and everyone, triggered a 13 year high in inflation, blocked our pipeline while giving Russia theirs, pulled our troops out of Afghanistan in the sloppiest and most disastrous way possible, and oh yes not rid us of the coronavirus. So far as I can tell, he’s done nothing he promised apart from not sending out mean tweets.

HAITI: The death toll from the recent earthquake is up to 1,297. The quake destroyed thousands of buildings, including homes, businesses, schools, offices, churches, and hospitals. The death toll is expected to rise as rescuers race to find survivors in the rubble before it’s too late.

NIGERIA: A new report by the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety) shows that, in the past 200 days, Islamic extremists have murdered 3,462 Christians. That is just 68 less than the total number killed in all of 2020.

STELTER: [9:37] – When Stephen Colbert had CNN’s Brian Stelter on The Late Show this week, 500,000 people tuned out. Dan Bongino calls Stelter the stupidest man on television. I decided to take his word for it and not lower my IQ by listening to him.

VAX: The U.S. bishops are divided over whether to grant religious exemptions to Catholics seeking to avoid mandated COVID-19 vaccines. While some bishops, like Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York, have forbidden priests to grant the religious exemption that some laws allow, Colorado’s four Catholic bishops have upheld the right of Catholic laypeople to refuse a vaccine on the grounds of conscience.

Catholics in a diocese that forbids them from receiving a legally permitted religious exemption to vaccination may theoretically get one from a neighboring diocese.

WISDOM: An old farmer offered this prayer at morning breakfast – “Lord, I hate buttermilk and lard and raw white flour. But when they’re mixed together and baked, I love warm fresh biscuits. So Lord, when things come up that we don’t like, when life gets hard, when we don’t understand what you’re saying to us, help us to just relax and wait until you are done mixing. It will probably be even better than biscuits. Amen.

AFGHANISTAN: On Saturday, Afghanistan’s president claimed he would be able to defend Kabul (pop. 6 million). On Sunday, he fled the country shortly before Taliban terrorists invaded Kabul and claimed the presidential palace.

Back in April, VFAUXTUS bragged about having a key role in deciding to pull our troops out of Afghanistan.

DVE: I believe these tweets qualify as inciting domestic violence under the Department of Homeland Security’s latest advisory, which says that threats to the Homeland continue to be “posed by domestic terrorists, individuals and groups engaged in grievance-based violence [who are] increasingly exploiting online forums to influence and spread violent extremist narratives and promote violent activity.”https://www.dhs.gov/ntas/advisory/national-terrorism-advisory-system-bulletin-august-13-2021

ENERGY: FAUXTUS has done everything he can to reduce domestic energy production. Now that folks are pissed about rising gas prices, his response is to beg OPEC to increase its production. As I recall, under Trump, we were net energy exporters and gas prices were excellent.

H.R. 1: This unconstitutional power grab has been passed by the House. In the wee hours last Wednesday, Chuckie Schmucker tried to slime it through the Senate. Thankfully, Ted Cruz stayed awake and was able to block it. CLICK https://twitter.com/Forbes/status/1425493918293057539 [1:04] to hear his statement, which was tweeted by Forbes.

KLAVAN: [5:27] – Andrew articulately explains why he believes feminism today is anti-male, anti-female, and anti-the values that most women hold.

MILITARY: Thanks to the FAUX administration’s hasty withdrawal (minus a peace deal or follow up mission), billions of dollars worth of U.S. military equipment now belongs to Islamic extremists.

NBC SUCKS: CLICK https://rumble.com/vl6v06-insane-dhs-advisory-lists-opponents-to-covid-restrictions-as-terror-threats.html [:13] to hear NBC spew fake news about the latest terror advisory from the Department of Homeland Security. You can read the advisory for yourself at the link below.

I noted a strong emphasis on violent extremism, which I’ve yet to see in any of the right-wing stuff I consume daily. Most of us are into peaceful, legal means of protest, not hurting people or blowing up buildings.

I also noted that NBC skimmed right over the top point, which is that “through the remainder of 2021, racially- or ethnically-motivated violent extremists (RMVEs) and anti-government/anti-authority violent extremists will remain a national threat priority for the United States.”

RESIST: I saw this on FB – “Walking into a restaurant. Hello. Table for two, please. Sure. Do you and your guest have your vaccination cards? Can you tell us who our server will be? It looks like Brad. Great, can you show us Brad’s vaccination card? Also, we’d like to see proof that he is not carrying HIV, Hepatitis A or B, or any other communicable disease. And we’d prefer not to be served by someone who is on or uses recreational drugs, so could you provide us with Brad’s most recent tox screen? Um, let me get the manager. That would be great. Thanks.”

SNOPES: David Mikkelson, who co-founded Snopes with his wife Barbara, has been suspended as the website completes an internal review of his chronic plagiarism. So far, they’ve retracted 54 articles in which he lifted content, word-for-word from other websites using “Jeff Zarronandia” or “Snopes Staff” bylines, and neglected to include links to his sources.

Mikkelson says, “I didn’t come from a journalism background. I wasn’t used to doing news aggregation. A number of times I crossed the line to where it was copyright infringement. I own that.” Sorry, pal, but plagiarism isn’t solely a journalism issue. You should’ve learned this in grade school. Also the part about putting your own name on the work you post at your own site. Sheesh.

Using pseudonyms sounds like he was trying to puff up his site by making it look like they had an actual staff, when it was just him and his wife at the beginning.

FYI: In a spirit of full disclosure, I wish to inform all my readers that I mostly write my own content, but if I’m too tired or the original is as well written as I could wish for, I tend to just swipe it. And, while I make a serious effort to include all the URLs, I don’t always include all the quotation marks.

STURGIS, SOUTH DAKOTA: [7:26] – Gov. Kristi Noem smashes back at Fauci for shaming Sturgis Bike Rally. She also discusses liberal COVID hypocrisy and how she’s handling immigration on ‘The Ingraham Angle.’

VAX: More than 3,000 fake COVID-19 vaccination cards were seized in Memphis, Tennessee, en route to other cities. They originated in China. Buying, selling, or using a counterfeit COVID-19 vaccination cards is a crime, and violators will face a fine and up to five years in prison.

WASHINGTON POST: A federal judge has ruled that WaPo published a story about Rep. Devin Nunes with “a reckless disregard of the truth.” That means the case will move forward instead of being thrown out.

This is a major step toward holding irresponsible media outlets accountable for spreading fake news,” Nunes told The Epoch Times in an email. “We now get to bring the Washington Post into discovery to see how they put together this phony story. These are no longer news outlets, they’re Pravda-style propaganda artists and character assassins, and the courts are our best hope to force some sense of responsibility on them.”

Bits & Bytes

AFGHANISTAN: On Thursday, the State Department announced that a contingent of 3,000 U.S. troops will temporarily deploy to assist the withdrawal of American diplomats from Afghanistan, adding that the U.S. Embassy in Kabul will remain with limited personnel.

BACK THE BLUE: Back in June, a group of police officers stopped at a family diner in Tennessee to get a good home-cooked meal following a day of K-9 training. When they went to pay their sizeable bill, they found it had already been paid by a local businessman who just wanted to thank the officers for all they do.

CATHOLIC: Today is the Feast of the Assumption* of Mary Body and Soul into Heaven. The Eastern Orthodox celebrate it as the Dormition of Mary, which is the same feast as the Assumption, just with a name that means “sleep.” Somebody clearly saw her being taken up to Heaven in her body, but it apparently happened at night, so they wouldn’t have known if she’d died in her sleep first or not.

I talked with a priest about it once and he said he thought she did die, because she would have wanted to be like her Son in all things. Her death is certainly suggested in many of the paintings I looked at to illustrate this piece. However, one of the seers at Medjugorje asked her once and she said she did not die.

When I was researching the End Times, I found clear evidence in the Scriptures that the Rapture will be a real thing. When in the timeline it will happen, I do not know, but the part where Jesus comes again in the clouds and “catches up” his faithful is something He Himself told us would happen. And it is definitely not the same event as the Last Battle, when He will come on a horse leading a vast army, or the Final Judgment, when all will be compelled to appear before the Throne.

I’m thinking that, where Jesus’ Resurrection is our model for what it will be like for the dead who will be raised into glorified, eternal bodies, Mary’s Assumption is our model for what it will be like for the living who will be caught up and transformed without dying first.

BTW, the Rapture gets its name from 1 Thes 4:17 where the Greek “harpazo” was translated into the Latin as “raptos.” They mean “to snatch up” or “to snatch up and rescue“, which reminds me of when Mama Buzz was a toddler. She tried to climb on to the bottom of a slide just when another kid was starting to come down. Another mom, who was thankfully closer than I was, literally “raptured” her just in time for the other kid to slide right under her feet.

*Christ, by his own power, ascended Himself into Heaven. Mary was assumed into Heaven by God; she did not do it under her own power.

HAITI: On Saturday, at least 227 people were killed when a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck about 93 miles west of the capital Port-au-Prince.

LIFE: On Thursday, the full U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit ruled that a Tennessee law mandating a 48-hour waiting period before a woman can get an abortion is constitutional and does not cause an undue burden to women seeking an abortion.

OBAMA’S B’DAY BASH: In the week following the “scaled back, intimate friends and family only” par-tay, seventy-four people have tested positive for the coronavirus. This is more than any week since April. The health spokesperson said they don’t know yet if the surge is connected to the hundreds of guests and workers who attended the mask-less festivities … because they haven’t done the contact tracing. If it was Sturgis, the media would be screaming about unvaccinated, right-wing, super spreaders who are going to kill us all.

SEGREGATION: An Atlanta mother has filed a complaint to the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights after learning her child and 11 other Black students were placed into black-only classes at their elementary school. The school’s principal, who is Black, implemented the plan of her own accord, arguing the decision was beneficial to all the students in the predominantly white district.

TEXAS: Ben Shapiro talks about good parenting [3:35] – The State of Texas has declared that genital mutilation of a minor through reassignment surgery constitutes child abuse. Gov. Abbott said enforcement of this declaration would be effective immediately and that allegations involving this crime would be promptly and thoroughly investigated.

Professionals with cause to believe that a child has suffered abuse are obliged under Texas law to contact DFPS within two days after first suspecting abuse. Failure to report is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail, a fine of up to $4,000, or both. Intentionally concealing child abuse is a jail felony.

GRAMMY NOTES: The Scouts arrived home safely. Please remember our mascots in your prayers. Today is moving day for Blossom and her family, as dad transfers to a new duty station. There will be much sadness all around for these two families, who have grown so very close during the pandemic.

CATHOLIC: Today is the Feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe, also known as the martyr of Auschwitz. He was sent to the Nazi concentration camp for hiding 3,000 Polish and Jewish refugees in a shelter at his friary. During the nights in the concentration camp, he would go bunk to bunk saying, “I am a Catholic priest. Can I do anything for you?

When a fellow prisoner attempted to escape, 10 men were chosen to be killed as retribution. Saint Maximilian volunteered to take the place of Franciszek Gajowniczek, a husband and father who had been chosen. Franciscek later recalled, “I could only thank him with my eyes. I was stunned and could hardly grasp what was going on. The immensity of it: I, the condemned, am to live and someone else willingly and voluntarily offers his life for me – a stranger. Is this some dream?

Put into a starvation cell with the other nine men, Fr. Kolbe would kneel and lead psalms and canticles. He’d encourage them to forgive their persecutors. One of the SS guards even stated, “This priest is really a great man. We have never seen anyone like him.”

Father Kolbe was the last man in the starvation cell to remain alive. The Nazis then executed him by injection with carbolic acid on Aug. 14, 1941. He was beatified on Oct. 17, 1971 by Pope Paul VI and canonized by Pope John Paul II on Oct. 10, 1982. Franciszek Gajowniczek was present for the canonization.

How did this friar have such heroic virtue, mercy, and forgiveness in the face of such injustice and suffering? Practice. Indeed, Fr. Kolbe strove to live a life of mercy beginning years before his arrest. We would do well in these perilous times to also practice so that when the time comes, we will be able to behave in a way that honors Our Lord Jesus.

COVID-19: Sweden took the controversial route to achieve herd immunity as quickly as possible by not shutting down. The nation now averages of 0.6 COVID deaths per day. In nearby Finland and Norway, deaths are in the hundreds. In Denmark, they are in the thousands.

WATCH THIS ONE: CLICK https://rumble.com/vl0cjw-august-11-2021.html [5:59] to hear Dr. Dan Stock’s address to the Mt. Vernon School Board in Indiana over the futility of mask mandates and COVID-19 protocols in most schools. “Everything being recommended by the CDC and the state Board of Health is contrary to science.” One point he talks about is why the vaccinated are getting sick and how important Vitamin D, zinc, and ivermectin are.

DEATH of COMEDY: [6:08] – New York voters really know how to pick them. Before Skeezy Andy, we had Eliot Spitzer, who resigned in 2008 after it came out that that he patronized prostitutes while traveling on official business. Spitzer’s immediate successor, David Paterson, left following ethics complaints which, oddly enough were not about sex.

Paterson was accused of witness tampering, soliciting improper gifts, and making false statements under oath. He was eventually fined more than $60K for accepting free World Series tickets, but was not charged with perjury despite having lied about said tickets. I don’t know what happened with the witness tampering charge.

Steyn’s reference to Paterson and the Days Inn was from a time prior to when Paterson served as interim governor. He and his wife admitted that, during a rocky period in their marriage, they had each had affairs. Ultimately, they committed to fixing their relationship. “Like most marriages, you go through certain difficult periods,” Michelle Paterson said. “What’s important is for your kids to see you worked them out.

GENDER: [5:31] – This race demonstrates in very short order why mtf trannies have no business competing against real women.

HUNTER: Only Newsweek and FOX News reported on the incident, but only FOX treated it seriously.

MEDIA: On Thursday, the Texas Tribune published a piece about how Texas children’s hospitals are experiencing a surge in cases of COVID-19 and RSV. (RSV is a highly contagious virus that can require hospitalization mostly among children 5 years and younger and especially infants.)

The 5,800 number actually refers to the total number of children hospitalized with COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

The Tribune published the correction above, but not before the grossly inflated number had been tweeted out … which maybe was the whole point.

POINT OF NO RETURN: The true point of no return was when we allowed evil people to push God out of every aspect of our lives.

SHROUD OF TURIN: [3:59] – This is fascinating.

TEXAS RUNAWAYS: [2:14] – CLICK https://rumble.com/vl1qme-real-america-dan-w-bob-hall-august-11-2021.html [6:37] to hear Get Real Dan report about arrest warrants for the 52 Democrat slackers. The point isn’t to put anyone in jail, but to get them to come back to work … like they’re being paid to do. And, oh yes, took an OATH to do.

VAX HESITATION: A new study has found that the most highly educated Americans are also the most vaccine hesitant. It also showed that the number one concern among the hesitant is potential side effects, with a lack of trust in government close behind in second place.

The results of the investigation completely debunk the Left’s narrative that only dumb people refuse to be vaccinated, while all the smart and sophisticated people are already vaccinated.

VAX MUTATIONS: Exactly! It wouldn’t make Moderna, Pfizer, or BioNTech billions of dollars. Also, it wouldn’t give Progressives any excuse to keep us masked and locked down.

GRAMMY NOTES: On Friday, the Scouts hiked up Mt. Britton. Some of them made it all the way to the top of the tower.
