Saved by switching to Trump

Don’t miss Part 2 of Stilton’s year in review.

Multiple officials from Obama’s administration have told people to ignore the popular uprising in Iran against the thuggish totalitarian regime that Obama propped up in a big way.

‘In my world, you don’t abandon a guy over sex. You stick with him.” — James Carville, former adviser to President Bill Clinton, Stickin’: The Case for Loyalty (2000)

Coal is BACK! As sub-zero temperatures sent demand for heating and electricity soaring on the East Coast, coal outpaced both natural gas and nuclear power plants in the the largest energy market in the nation.

Trump’s former campaign chair Paul Manafort filed a civil lawsuit in a DC court Wednesday against Robert Mueller, Rod Rosenstein and the Justice Department. The lawsuit alleges Mueller has gone outside of his scope as Special Counsel and the charges brought by Mueller have nothing to do with the 2016 presidential election.

Crack reporter at CNN informed the nation that President Trump doesn’t have an ACTUAL nuclear button on his desk and that the “nuclear football” isn’t an ACTUAL football, two factoids everybody ELSE in the country has known for decades.

ABC News political analyst Matthew Dowd got majorly fact-checked after tweeting the total lie that the money the US sent Iran as part of nuclear deal was not taxpayer money.

2017 Anti-Trump FAKE NEWS Wrapup

This is just a partial list. I deleted a whole bunch of stuff to keep this post a reasonable length.

I'm with the media

ALL YEAR: According to the U.S. intelligence community, Russia meddled in the 2016 presidential election, but did NOT “hack the election” — i.e., change voter tallies or anything of the sort.

  • The media talked incessantly about how “Russia hacked the election”, supposedly to help Trump get elected.  Nobody explained why Russia would WANT Donald “Make America Great Again” Trump in office rather than their long-time, uranium-selling collaborator and successor to Barack “America Sucks” Obama, Hillary Clinton.

JANUARY: On January 20, Time reporter Zeke Miller wrote that a bust of Martin Luther King Jr. had been removed from the White House.

  • This was not true. Miller didn’t happen to see the bust in the crowded Oval Office, so rather than ask someone, he went ahead and peddled the Democrat lie that Trump is a flaming RAAACIST.

JANUARY: When a new president takes office, it is routine for the previous administration’s White House web content to be archived, so the new administration can use whitehouse.gov for its own business.

  • The New York Times reported that the Trump administration had “purged” any “climate change references” from the White House website, as if Trump was some kind of digital book burner.

JANUARY: It is customary when a new administration enters the White House for officials to submit resignations. Trump accepted the resignations of four mid-level State Department officials.

  • WaPo reported that the U.S. State Department’s “entire senior administrative team” resigned en masse in protest of Trump’s presidency.

JANUARY: Five days before President Trump’s executive order banned travel from some predominantly Muslim countries, Mike Hager’s mother died in one of those countries.

  • The story that she had died BECAUSE of the travel ban went viral.

FEBRUARY: President Trump and Mexican president Enrique Pena Nieto talked by telephone.

  • Based on an AP report, Trump told Nieto he was planning to invade Mexico. The story went viral, but even the Mexican government said that was not at all what Trump had said.

FEBRUARY: A leaked draft of a memo from inside the Department of Homeland Security contained a suggestion that maybe the National Guard could assist in the “investigation, apprehension and detention” of criminal aliens.

  • AP reported that President Trump was definitely considering mobilizing 100,000 National Guard to help round up and DEPORT illegal aliens.

FEBRUARY: NBC News national correspondent Peter Alexander tweeted that Trump was going to allow Russian companies to do business with Russia’s secret service.

  • The story that Trump was obviously cozy with the Russian government went viral. In reality, the change was merely a technical policy fix that had been planned under Obama.

MAY: The GOP’s American Health Care Act said states could apply for waivers that would allow insurance companies, under certain limited circumstances, to charge higher premiums to people based on their personal medical histories. States that were granted these waivers would be required to set up special high-risk insurance pools to help defray costs for these people, as is common with car insurance.

  • CNN and several others reported that the bill would classify rape and sexual assault as preexisting conditions and allow insurance companies to deny survivors coverage, which was a total lie.

JUNE: On June 6, CNN ran a story claiming former FBI Director James Comey planned to REFUTE President Trump’s claim that Comey had assured him three separate times that he was not under FBI investigation.

  • On June 6, Comey’s prepared remarks were released to the public, showing that Comey would actually CONFIRM Trump’s assertion.

NOVEMBER: While in Japan, President Trump followed Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in dumping a small bowl of fish food into a koi pond.

  • CNN dishonestly cropped Abe’s prior action out of the video, then reported that Trump’s bowl dump had been a diplomatic faux pas.

DECEMBER: In late 2016, PRESIDENT-ELECT Trump told his transition team to contact world leaders regarding the incoming administration’s foreign policy objectives, which is standard for incoming presidents.

  • ABC News reported that CANDIDATE Trump had told Michael Flynn to contact Russia.

Frankly, I’m not surprised

I’ve seen his nasty on-air rants. Why would anyone suppose he is a total gentleman OFF camera?! In this one, he actually likens Mark Levin’s and Glenn Beck’s verbal critiques of a budget deal with Kim Jong Un’s EXECUTION of a political enemy. Unreal.

Amber Athey at Daily Caller writes, “Two former NBC producers independently alleged MSNBC’s Chris Matthews is so abusive that his staff has joked about being battered women.

“The interviews in total paint Matthews as a tyrant liable to fly off the handle at the slightest mistake, who was eager to objectify women and made inappropriate sexual comments appear to be a matter of course for someone in his position.

“Both individuals requested anonymity out of concern for their future careers.”

Successful Intelligence

Cornell University’s professor of human development, Robert J. Sternberg, has been awarded the 2018 Grawemeyer Award in Psychology for a new psychological theory he introduced in 1996 called “successful intelligence.”  He defines it as “the ability to set and accomplish personally meaningful goals in one’s life, given one’s cultural context.”

BOOK Successful Intelligence by Robert Sternberg

According to Sternberg, if you’re successfully intelligent, you can think well in four different areas as related to goals.

  1. CreativelyYou think creatively to come up with new ideas that are useful.
  2. AnalyticallyYou then analyze those ideas to see if they’re worthwhile or good.
  3. PracticallyYou think practically when you apply your concepts in ways that make sense for everyday life and convince others to jump on board.
  4. Wisdom-based (Ethically)You consider whether the way you’re implementing your ideas will benefit everyone and follows accepted ethical rules.

Successfully intelligent people, according to Sternberg, accomplish goals by determining which strengths and weaknesses they’ve got and, as a great mentor might tell you to do, capitalizing on the strength and/or compensating for the weaknesses. To do this, they’re willing to seek out mentors and other people to help them.

They also look deeper than face value and take a second look at what’s “known”–they’re not mentally rigid in the way they think or view the world. They create their own opportunities if need be, and they’re fantastic at correctly identifying problems. And they have a keen sense of when to to keep on trying and when to quit.

Sternberg says that successful intelligence is something you can work at and develop. He maintains that this development can start early, when kids are still in school, by creating curricula that go beyond the typical focus on analysis and memorization.

New Year, New Format

We begin 2018 with a different approach to disseminating the mindless drivel you’ve come to expect from your intrepid reporter. They will generally be long, usually rambling, and at some point you will realize you wasted minutes of your life you’ll never get back.

President Trump’s 1st Year in Office an ECONOMIC MIRACLE: All Time Stock Market Highs – Most Jobs in History – Highest GDP Ever

President Trump’s first year in office resulted in the greatest year in stock market history! The Dow ended up nearly 5,000 points for the year which was the highest increase in the Dow’s more than 100 year history. The Dow reached all-time new highs a record 71 times in 2017, breaking the record for the most all-time highs in a calendar year set in 1995.

At the final bell for the year the Dow closed near its highest closing amount ever at 24,719. Since last year’s election the Dow is up 35%!

President Trump’s 1st Year in Office an ECONOMIC MIRACLE: All Time Stock Market Highs – Most Jobs in History – Highest GDP Ever

Finally: Signs of a real economic recovery for the US

US GDP, for example, is now on pace to grow at an annual rate of about 3 percent for the first three full quarters of President Trump’s term. Compare that to the less than 2 percent average annual growth under President Barack Obama.

Indeed, not a single year saw 3 percent growth or more under Obama, the only president in modern history with such a sorry record. Things may finally be turning around.

Trump wishes a Happy New Year to his supporters, haters, enemies and fake news

President Trump wished Americans a Happy New Year from his Mar-a-Lago luxury resort in south Florida on Sunday, saying that his New Years wishes extended to not just his supporters but also his “enemies” and the “fake news” media.

“As our Country rapidly grows stronger and smarter, I want to wish all of my friends, supporters, enemies, haters, and even the very dishonest Fake News Media, a Happy and Healthy New Year. 2018 will be a great year for America!” Trump tweeted.

Trump pulls brakes on $13B Obama-backed rail-tunnel plan

An Obama-era plan to have the federal government finance half of a $13 billion rail tunnel project ran into a red light Friday from the Trump administration.

The original Obama-era plan called for costs to be split among New York state, New Jersey and the federal government.

But in a letter Friday, the Trump administration notified New York and New Jersey that the Obama-era deal was now “non-existent” because the states recently requested that their portions be covered by loans from the federal government — meaning Washington would supply all of the initial funding for what the Trump White House is calling “a local project.”

Trump dumps entire White House HIV/AIDS council

Months after a half-dozen members resigned in protest of the Trump administration’s position on health policies, the White House dismissed the rest through a form letter.

The notice “thanked me for my past service and said that my appointment was terminated, effective immediately,” said Patrick Sullivan, an epidemiologist at Emory University who works on HIV testing programs. He was appointed to a four-year term in May 2016.

Judge Upholds Controversial Bill Requiring Taxpayers to Fund Abortions in Illinois

The bill forces Illinois state residents to fund abortions of Medicaid recipients and state employee health insurance beneficiaries and sets no expense ceiling nor a limit on the number of abortions that Medicaid will cover.

Rauner said that the state should fund abortions because wealthy women should not have reproductive options not shared by poor women

According to Illinois House Republican Floor Leader, Peter Breen, the new law will oblige taxpayers to foot the bill for “an expected 20,000 to 30,000” abortions per year.

Former Israeli Ambassador To The US: Obama Rejected Iran Green Revolution For Nuclear Deal

US President Barack Obama chose not to support the 2009 Iranian Green Protest Movement, because he hoped to reach a deal with Iran on its nuclear weapons that he signed six years later, then-ambassador to the US and current Deputy Minister Michael Oren (Kulanu) said Monday.

Obama’s failure to help Iranian protesters has been criticized since then by Israeli officials, led by Jewish Agency chairman and former Soviet dissident Natan Sharansky, who has called it the biggest failure to help human rights in modern history

Ex-Obama State Dept. Spox: We Didn’t Support Iran Protesters in 2009 Because They Asked Us Not To

More from the woman who claimed “job opportunities” were the key to defeating ISIS.
Substitute host Dana Perino didn’t hesitate to put Harf on the hot seat, comparing Obama’s lack of support for Iranian protesters in 2009 with President Trump and VP Pence’s support for the protesters in Iran today.

Exemplifying Obama’s losing, “leading from behind,” approach to foreign policy, Harf said:

“The reason we didn’t [support the protesters] was that it was our judgment—and we were hearing from Iranians protesting on the streets that your support will not help us.”

Former Obama Advisers Tell Trump to ‘Be Quiet’ on Iran Protests

Hypocrite Hillary

Hypocrite Hillary tweeted this gem:

2017_12 30 Hillary tweets re Iran protests

If tweet replies could burn, Hillary would be toast.

  • You mean the government state sponsor of terror that you and Obama gave nukes and billions of $$ to buy weapons? That government? That’s the one you want to respond peacefully?
  • Yeah sure, Hillary. You’re a real supporter of the Iranian people. That’s why you’re still defending Obama’s deal with the mullahs. Enjoy jail, you criminal.
  • You and former president Obama turned a blind eye to the protest in Iran back in 2009 just because you were eager to sign a nuke deal with the Mullahs. Had US supported the Iranians back then we may have had a free and secular Iran by now.

On a positive note, Hillary’s focus groups are working much faster these days. It used to take her weeks to come out with a poll tested tweet. Now it only takes days for them to tell her what she thinks.

Trump still standing despite media onslaught

“According to the latest Rasmussen poll, the President has a 46% approval rating, which is the same level that Barack Obama had at the end of his first year. The difference is that the media loved Barack Obama, but hates Donald Trump. To be as popular as his beloved predecessor when so much of the media is arrayed against him is certainly one of the President’s most impressive accomplishments of 2017.

Text:

As he finishes his first year in office, President Donald Trump is hitting his stride politically. Right before Christmas, the President led the Republican Party to a major congressional victory. Passing the huge $1.5 trillion tax cut legislation a political triumph for the President and the GOP.

The victory was secured despite a very thin GOP majority in the Senate and the President’s perilous relations with a number of anti-Trump Senators. Fortunately, the benefits of the bill persuaded all Republican Senators to support the far-reaching legislation. The booming economy will now grow even faster in 2018.

The tax bill will give average Americans and businesses needed relief. It will also eliminate the odious Obamacare mandate and open drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), which will help America become more energy independent and create more manufacturing jobs.

With lower overall rates and a one-time tax holiday, American companies will have the incentive to repatriate trillions of dollars that are currently being held in foreign countries. Allowing corporations to grow will undoubtedly lead to more employment and spending on beneficial purposes such as new equipment.

All of these aspects of the tax bill will help create even more growth in a strong economy, which expanded at a fast clip of 3.3% in the third quarter of 2017. What is truly impressive about the robust economic progress was that it occurred despite the devastation of several massive hurricanes hitting the mainland of the United States.

Passing the tax plan builds on the solid progress made in the overall economy over the last year. In 2017, the stock market soared, consumer confidence rose to a 17-year high, and housing starts increased 3.3% in November, reaching a 10-year record. Most importantly, there has been strong job growth. Unemployment decreased to 4.1% while unemployment for Hispanic Americans is at an all-time low and for African Americans; it reached a 17-year low.

A vital component of the job growth has been manufacturing jobs. In the past year, there has been a significant increase of over 170,000 manufacturing jobs. This is a nice contrast to the economic environment of the Obama administration which was toxic to American manufacturers. During the previous administration, there was an increase in lower paying service sector jobs and part-time employment. In addition, millions of Americans became so discouraged that they left the workforce altogether, creating the lowest labor force participation rate since the Jimmy Carter era. Fortunately, under President Trump, these trends are reversing.

The success of the President’s first year has not been limited to the economy. In 2017, there has been tremendous progress in the civilized world’s ongoing war against Islamic jihadists. The terrorist group ISIS suffered tremendous losses in 2017 as the President unleashed our military to fight the enemy. In contrast to the previous administration, President Trump is allowing our military commanders to make battlefield decisions. We have also eliminated the restrictive rules of engagement that were hampering our success in fighting ISIS. As a result of these new measures, ISIS has lost 98% of its caliphate and is in serious decline. If this type of success had been achieved during the Obama administration, the media would be continually highlighting the story. Instead, this Trump administration achievement is the most under reported story of 2017.

The reason is that President Trump has been the target of an unrelenting media barrage while former President Obama was a press favorite. President Trump has faced more hatred from reporters than any politician in American history. Independent researchers have uncovered that over 90% of the media reports about President Trump have been negative. For example, according to the Pew Research Center, compared to his predecessor, President Trump received only one-eighth as much positive media coverage, but three times as much negative press.

These negative reports have contributed to the President’s low poll numbers. It is hard for the President to gain traction with the American people when the media is constantly promoting an anti-Trump agenda. However, it has started to turn around because Americans always “vote their pocketbook.”

Voters have the good sense to support Presidents who are good for the economy. For example, during his first term, President Ronald Reagan was very successful in producing quality American jobs and creating growth. Not surprisingly, he was rewarded with a historic landslide in 1984. The same dynamic may occur with President Trump in 2020.

The great economic news has started to boost the President’s approval ratings. Americans are beginning to realize Donald Trump’s policies are having a beneficial impact on not only the overall economy, but also on their individual financial situation. These real facts will begin to overcome the “fake news” of the Russian collusion story and the other media created controversies. In the end, the truth always wins, even in American politics.

In a year end interview with the New York Times, the President noted that he believes the media coverage will eventually turn positive and help him win re-election in 2020. According to Trump, “Another reason that I’m going to win another four years is because newspapers, television, all forms of media will tank if I’m not there because without me, their ratings are going down the tubes…Without me, The New York Times will indeed be not the failing New York Times, but the failed New York Times.”

President Trump is certainly the politician that the media loves to hate. Amazingly, the negative coverage has not totally destroyed his approval ratings with the public. According to the latest Rasmussen poll, the President has a 46% approval rating, which is the same level that Barack Obama had at the end of his first year.

The difference is that the media loved Barack Obama, but hates Donald Trump. To be as popular as his beloved predecessor when so much of the media is arrayed against him is certainly one of the President’s most impressive accomplishments of 2017.
