Bishop Against Bishop

On October 13, 1973, Our Lady of Akita, Japan, said to Sr. Agnes Sasagawa, “The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres … churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.”

We’re there.

Bishop Strickland of of the Diocese of Tyler, Texas, says, “Pastoral care for Mrs. Pelosi is to tell her that she should not receive the Body of Christ until she stops advocating the murder of unborn children.”

Bishop Athanasius Schneider of the Diocese of Astana, Kazakhstan, went even further, saying that Nancy Pelosi’s sacrilegious reception of Holy Communion is a pathway to her soul’s damnation. “She is consciously, stubbornly eating her judgment.”

Despite the clear teaching of both the Scriptures and the RCC, Pope Francis insists that bishops should not deny Communion to pro-abortion politicians. He says it causes the Church to lose its “pastoral nature.”

Pope Francis was slow to even comment on the overturning of Roe, but when asked about it, he said, “I respect the decisions.” Then, he went on to say something very odd. “Let’s go … see what science tells us today. Science today and any book on embryology, the one our medical students study, tells you that 30 days after conception there is DNA and the laying out already of all the organs.”

“30 days after conception there is DNA” … huh? The zygote has its own, unique DNA from the moment of conception!

But Pope Francis’ lukewarm enthusiasm for overturning Roe was certainly reflected in the pompously worded and morally mushy statement The Pontifical Academy for Life issued. In sharp contrast to the USCCB’s statement celebrating the overturning of “an unjust law that has permitted some to decide whether others can live or die” and that “has resulted in the deaths of tens of millions of preborn children”, the PAL statement didn’t even condemn abortion, much less express any relief or joy. It also never mentioned God, the beauty and sanctity of the unborn child, or all the hard work pro-life Americans put into achieving this victory.

This should probably be no surprise to Catholic watchers; the PAL (or PAV, if you’re using the Latin name) has been pro-abortion ever since 2016, when Pope Francis gutted it of all devout conservatives and removed the requirement for members to sign a declaration that they uphold the Church’s pro-life teachings!

I’m thinking we should just not look to this pontiff for any kind of wisdom with respect to scientific issues. I heard he refused to even meet with climate experts like Patrick Moore before publishing his encyclical telling us we sin if we don’t jump on the Green New Deal wagon. It’s not his job to pick a single solution and it is way outside his purview when he has refused to even listen to all sides of an issue.

Then, he did the same damn thing with the vaxxx. He declared that vaccines developed using cell lines derived from aborted fetuses were “morally acceptable” and refused to grant Catholics religious exemptions from vaxxx mandates.

He told us that we had a “moral obligation” to take the jabs, that it would be “suicide” not to. He also condemned as baseless ideological misinformation (aka, fake news) all of our concerns about the rushed development of the vaxxxes, the suspicious reticence of the manufacturers and the FDA to release critical test results, and the highly experimental nature of the totally untested mRNA technology.

Archbishop Viganò recently delivered a message which, in part, said, “Those who govern public affairs as well as the Pastors of the Church show that they are obedient to the anti-gospel of the world, and while refusing to pay due respect to Christ the King and obedience to His holy Will, they bend their knees before the new idols of political correctnessand burn incense before the simulacrum of humanity brutalized by vice and sin. Those who today lead the people in temporal and spiritual things have as their purpose not the common good of citizens and the salvation of the souls of the faithful, but their corruption, their damnation. And the masses, having abandoned the way of honesty, righteousness and holiness, abandon themselves to deception, corruption and infernal revolt against God.”

What loving your neighbor looks like

Mendon, Missouri. Population 171. There’s really nothing here. The tiny town is located off Route 11, just south of Yellow Creek. You’re three hours west of Saint Louis, two hours east of Kansas City.

It’s quiet. No attractions. No major landmarks. Nobody famous ever lived here unless you count Vern Kennedy, right-hander for the White Sox, circa 1934.

If you’re looking for entertainment in Mendon, your main option is Busch Light. But you’ll have to drive all the way to Brunswick to find a liquor store.

“We are just country folk,” said Mendon native Carol Ann Wamsley, “and that’s what makes us a special place.”

At its heart, Mendon is a railroad town. The first iron tracks were laid in 1887. Within a decade, a town sprang up. You had a few dozen storefronts, a school, a newspaper, and a couple churches with steeply conflicting views on eternal damnation. Most of that is gone now.

Today, the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad line still passes the northwest side of the community, only now it’s the Southern Transcon Railroad.

The Amtrak Southwest Chief runs through town regularly. On summer afternoons you can see the Amtrak locomotive in the distance, racing across the prairie like a polished chromium bullet. But the train never stops here. It just keeps moving.

Until last week.

It was a Monday that will live in infamy. The Southwest Chief made an unexpected stop near Mendon, of all places.

The Chief was traveling 87 mph, bound for Chicago. There were more people aboard than there are living within Mendon’s city limits.

Up ahead a dump truck was on the tracks. The truck was obstructing the crossing of County Road 113. This was not a small truck. This was a vehicle about the size of a Sonic Drive-In.

The train never slowed.

The sound of the collision could be heard from as far away as Westville. It was the noise of two General Electric diesel locomotives and seven Superliner cars plowing into a mass of Dearborn steel. The train was derailed.

Ron Goulet was riding coach.

“…I was airborne. Everything was tumbling. People on top of people. The train rolled on its right side—the entire train, except for the front locomotive.”

Carry-on bags went everywhere. Elbows collided with craniums. Shoes crashed into jaws. Children clashed against the ceiling.

“When I climbed up and out of the train…” said Ron, “I was stunned that the entire thing was lying on its side. Not in a jumbled mass, but all laid over on the side.”

The story made national headlines, of course. Reporters from national newspapers visited. They photographed, videoed and wrote. Cable news anchors wore frowny faces and mentioned the wreck, just before cutting to commercials urging elderly viewers to reverse mortgage their livers.

But somehow, the bigger story about what happened in Mendon was lost. Somehow, you didn’t hear about Mendon’s magnificent people.

Sure, you heard about the wreck itself; the 150 injured, and the four fatalities. But you didn’t hear about how the residents of Mendon—nearly every single resident—rushed to the scene of the accident.

Throngs of ordinary townspeople arrived before first responders even knew about the crash. There were volunteers crawling out of the wallpaper.

“It was a wonderful problem to have,” said school district superintendent, Eric Hoyt, “but we probably had too many volunteers show up.”

People came from all over Chariton County, riding beat-up Silverados, ATVs, or arriving on foot. They came from Sumner, Marceline, Cunningham, Brookfield and Indian Grove.

Two Boy Scout troops dutifully helped injured victims from the wreckage. Local high-schoolers were fashioning bandages out of bandannas. Old women recited the Lord’s Prayer alongside strangers in blood-stained clothes.

There were farmers, off-duty nurses, truck drivers, soccer moms, Little League coaches and grade-schoolers. They were doling out food, first aid, bottled water and, most importantly, phone chargers.

Victims were taken to local homes, fed, bathed and bandaged. Weeping passengers were embraced by rural preachers. Passengers using wheelchairs were lifted from the rubble by young men in ropers and camouflage caps.

Local schoolbus drivers transported the wounded to hospitals. Northwestern High School staff members triaged victims in the gymnasium and fed people in the cafeteria.

One resident said that Mendon didn’t feel like a 171-person town anymore. “It was like 671 people came together.”

And the most unusual thing about all this is: None of this is unusual. At least not within the national tapestry that is The Great American Small Town.

Although we rarely hear about such acts of compassion and lovingkindness within our society, believe me, they happen. Every day. Every hour. Ordinary Americans will astound you with their goodwill. Sadly, ordinary American journalists aren’t interested in being astounded by such things.

DEMOCRATS: The tweet has been deleted, but clearly the sentiment is still there. I’m thinking that when people show you who they are, you should believe them.

Where the dragon works to deny God exists, Freemasonry works to blaspheme Him, to oppose the Ten Commandments, and to pervert the direct man’s natural desire to worship toward false idols.

Mary said the third beast, which rises out of the earth to aid the dragon, is Freemasonry infiltrated within the Church, which has spread throughout the ecclesiastical hierarchy. The purpose of this third beast is to destroy Christ and His Church, while building a false christ and a false, ecumenical church that is empty of all supernatural content.

INFANT SWIMMING RESOURCE: Their mission is to prevent drowning by teaching very young children (6 mos. and up) how to swim. And he loves it!

LIFE: Even the Catholic Church considers removal of an ectopic pregnancy to be a morally licit act.

MILITARY: On Saturday at around 6:30, a 43-year-old hiker climbing Mt. Hood lost his ice axe and fell approximately 600-700 feet from the summit ridge to the rocks above the Hot Rocks fumarole. Just before 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, rescue crews were able to reach him and begin first aid. Around 1 p.m., this helicopter from the Oregon Army National Guard arrived at the location with medics and a litter. The injured climber was flown to a Portland-area hospital where he is receiving medical care.

2A: On June 23, SCOTUS struck down New York’s “gimme a good reason why you need to conceal carry” law. One week later, Gov. Hochul signed a new version requiring those seeking conceal carry permits to prove they are of “good moral character.” It’s no longer enough to have a clean record. Now, some state appointed inspector will decide if you’re “good” enough to have a gun and this will be based on what exactly? Voting patterns? Tweets? Messages on your hats and t-shirts? Whether you fly the American flag outside your house? I can’t believe this will stand up to the Second Amendment, but challenging these damn things takes years and a lot of money. And in the meantime, they are enforced.

EDUCATION: A Colorado teacher has been disciplined for not wearing a mask, being “too conservative”, and suggesting to a transgender student that the rise in transgenderism is a “trend” that some come to regret. Is he any good at teaching? Who knows, or in today’s screwed up world, cares?

NEW YORK CITY: Mayor Adams has announced that COVID vaccines will be mandatory for students to attend school in the fall. This despite the facts that the CDC estimates 75% of children have already contracted the virus and the vaxxxes have serious, sometimes lethal side effects

NIGERIA: [1:54] – On June 22, 2022, more than 100 people witnessed an apparition of the Blessed Mother in the sky over a shrine dedicated to her. One of the witnesses was a Protestant pastor who was visiting a relative. Fr. Evaristus Bassey took the photos shown in the video. He says, “She didn’t say anything to anyone. But I think she came to assure us of God’s presence with us.”

NOKO: [1:24] – North Korea reported an outbreak of an unidentified intestinal epidemic in a farming region, putting further strain on the isolated country as it struggles to cope with chronic food shortages and a wave of COVID infections.

OHIO: On Thursday, the cafeteria and gym at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic school in Lorain sustained an estimated $1 million in fire damage. An arson investigation is underway.

I’m kinda laughing, because this is exactly how I use the Hail Mary – i.e., to stop negative thoughts by focusing my mind on something of God’s that is both true and beautiful. Protestants condemn this particular prayer as “vain repetition” or “babble like the pagans” (Matthew 6:7), which is weird since so many of their worship songs repeat the same phrases over and over. Also, the first half of the Hail Mary is a direct quotation of Luke 1:42, while the second half is merely a request that God’s mother pray for us.

SCOTUS: Ketanji Brown Jackson made history on June 30 by becoming the first Black female Supreme Court justice. She is also the first justice of any demographic who doesn’t know what a woman is.

TRANS: According to a new NPR/Ipsos poll, 63% of Americans are opposed to allowing males to play female sports, while 24% support it. Hmm … it’s kind of like the 6-3 split we keep seeing with the rash of recent Supreme Court decisions. Dems keep squealing about how the minority is supposedly “ruling” with these decisions, but it looks to me like the court is accurately reflecting what the American people believe.

TRIGGER LAWS: State courts have temporarily stopped abortion bans from going into effect in Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Utah, and Texas. Similar blockades in Arizona, Arkansas, and Indiana have been tossed out by SCOTUS. The following will no doubt rapidly change, but at this moment, the state-by-state gestational limits on abortion are:

  • 0 to 6 weeks: 17 states (4 in dispute)
  • 15-22 weeks: 10 states (1 in dispute)
  • 24-25 weeks/viability: 16 states
  • None: 7 states, 2 territories

GUNS: Brazil has the highest homicide rate in the world. So when Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro loosened gun restrictions in 2019, the Left predicted the murder rate could only get worse. Since the changes were made, the rate of gun ownership more than doubled … while the murder rate has fallen 34%. It is now at its lowest rate since1980.

HOMESCHOOL CLASSICS: “It shall be long-winded and self righteous. But if they didn’t want this particular performance then they shouldn’t have left toothpaste in the sink.” (I saw this on FB.)

J6: Just when you think the Dems’ persecution of J6 prisoners couldn’t get any worse … it does. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) just informed the wife of one of the incarcerated they suspending all of her husband’s benefits. Her husband has been held, without bail, without a trial, and without being convicted of any crime, for over 475 days. “This is what you have when vindictive leftists get in charge of major parts of the government.” – Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas). I’m crying. Literally crying.

LIFE: Yes!! Real, identifiable babies will not die because of this ruling!

NANCY and FRANCIS: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi received Holy Communion at a Mass with Pope Francis. May God have mercy on both of them.

ST. MICHAEL PRAYER: Exorcist Msgr. Stephen Rosetti says that the St. Michael prayer causes demons intense pain. I say it daily.

Msgr. Rossetti is the author of “Diary of an American Exorcist: Demons, Possession, and the Modern-Day Battle Against Ancient Evil.” He also holds monthly on-line deliverance prayer sessions via YouTube. I attended the June session; it was intense and powerful.

SCOTUS: [13:04] – This is worth listening to … also maybe take notes, because these “talking points” (by which I mean Big Fat Lies) aren’t going to go away.

TWITTER: On the Left, hypocrisy, intolerance, doxxing, lying, and violence are all perfectly acceptable provided they advance The Cause (of the Antichrist).

GRAMMY NOTES: I’m 68. I have lived my entire life in Deep Blue New York and honestly can’t remember when the Bible was a definitive source one could point to for truth or morality. I tutored a high school student back in the early 90s. Her English teacher didn’t know that Elizabeth Barrett Browning was a devout Christian and her history teacher thought the famous ceiling by Michelangelo was in the “Sixteen Chapels.”

CATHOLIC: On June 11, 2022, an Italian priest publicly celebrated a nuptial Mass to bless the civil marriage of a homosexual couple. This direct violation of Church teaching occurred in Bologna, the diocese of Francis-appointed Cardinal Archbishop Matteo Zuppi. The priest said he had personally notified Zuppi of his intentions beforehand.

  • The Catholic Church teaches that marriage is only between one man and one woman.

On June 23, 2022, two Catholic parishes in Ireland co-hosted an “ecumenical LGBT prayer service” in which “Pride” flags were draped on the sanctuary of the church. The rainbow flags continue to fly outside the church.

  • The Catholic Church teaches that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered and contrary to the natural law. “Under no circumstances can they be approved.”

TENNESSEE: A federal court has permitted Tennessee’s heartbeat abortion ban to go into effect.

THE VIEW: The View’s low-information bigots, I mean “co-hosts”, went to the Bahamas to celebrate the sad fact that their idiotic show has managed to misinform gullible females for 25 years. While sitting on the beach, they moaned about how horrible it is that Roe has been overturned.

I’m not sure if anyone has told them yet, but the Bahamas is one of 65 nations where abortion is legal only to save/preserve the physical health of the mother; there are no exceptions for rape, incest, or fetal anomalies.

UTAH: District Judge Andrew Stone has blocked the state’s pro-life law for 14 days. State Sen. Dan McCay responded, “Judge Stone sentenced 115 babies to death. It’s disappointing that a law meant to protect the most vulnerable, the unborn, is delayed by one judge with no support in the law.“

VAXXX: A French peer-reviewed study has concluded that the Moderna jab increases the risk of myocarditis in persons aged 18 to 24 years by 44 times. The Pfizer shot increases the risk by 13 times. Infection with the ‘rona increased the risk by 9 times.

WISCONSIN: Wisconsin has a state law from 1849 that makes abortions illegal, but the Democratic governor says he won’t enforce it.

Cassidy’s Big Fat Lie

That sounds like the title of a children’s book. But the reality is an insult to children’s books which generally have more integrity and coherence than what Cassidy Hutchinson, ex-aide of former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, testified to UNDER OATH before the J6 Kangaroo Court Committee.

And when Bobby had relayed to him, ‘We’re not, we don’t have the assets to do it, it’s not secure, we’re going back to the West Wing,’ the president had a very strong and very angry response to that. Tony described him as being irate. The president said to him something to the effect of, ‘I’m the f—ing president, take me up to the Capitol now.’ To which Bobby responded, ‘Sir, we have to go back to the West Wing.’ He then reached up front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. Mr. Engel grabbed his arm, he said, ‘Sir, you need to take your hand off the steering wheel. We’re going back to the West Wing, we’re not going to the Capitol.’ Mr. Trump then used his free hand to lunge towards Bobby Engel.”

Keep in mind that her testimony was hearsay from the get go and that the J6 committee knew it was hearsay when they let her testify under oath. I’m no lawyer, but in all the court shows, when an actor who plays a lawyer objects to something the witness says as being hearsay, the actor who plays a judge always tells the actors playing the jury to ignore it. You know, cuz hearsay isn’t considered reliable. Or so the results of my 2 minute google legal education tell me. Although, apparently, outside of actual trials, it may be permitted.

I was going to point out how difficult-to-impossible it is for anyone in the back to get at the driver in a stretch limousine, but I’ve heard they actually used one of the Suburbans that day. If that’s true, it just adds one more thing Cassidy got wrong. Prior to the bit I quoted above, she said, “Tony proceeded to tell me that when the president got in the Beast, he was under the impression from Mr. Meadows that the off-the-record movement to the Capitol was still possible and likely to happen but that Bobby had more information. As the president had gotten into the vehicle with Bobby, he thought that they were going up to the Capitol.“ The presidential stretch limo is known as The Beast.

But never mind that. The Slime Stream Media went berserk, only to be utterly embarrassed when the absurd hearsay testimony collapsed just hours later.

Then, it came out that Cassidy lied while under oath about the note that Liz Cheney displayed as an exhibit. She told the committee, “That’s a note that I wrote at the direction of the chief of staff on Jan. 6, likely around 3 o’clock. … That’s my handwriting.” A spokesman for former Trump White House lawyer Eric Herschmann told ABC News on Tuesday night that Herschmann wrote the note and that, “All sources with direct knowledge and law enforcement have and will confirm that it was written by Mr. Herschmann.”

2A: On June 27, Max Boot wrote in the Washington Post, “Conservatives can plausibly argue that liberal justices invented a constitutional right to abortion but how is that different from what conservative justices have done in inventing an individual right to carry guns that’s also nowhere in the Constitution?”

Max Boot is a Russian immigrant who considers himself a “conservative without a party.” He also claims to be a well-educated man who has some right to have others pay attention to his opinions, but I’m not seeing it.

AUSTRALIA: On Thursday afternoon, Redland City Mayor Karen Williams hosted a video meeting with families of drunk driving victims during which she called for tougher sentencing. An hour after this meeting, she drunk drove her car into a tree. Although she admits she made a serious error in judgment, she is resisting calls for her resignation.

BORDER: At least 50 people were found dead in an 18-wheeler truck carrying suspected illegal immigrants on a remote back road in southwest San Antonio, Texas. Another 16 people, four of whom were children, were taken to hospitals with heat-related illnesses. There was no water or a/c in the truck on a day when the outside temperature hit 100 degrees. God alone knows what it was inside that metal oven. May God have mercy on the souls of the dead and grant peaceful sleep to the first responders.

CALIFORNIA: California gun owners have been doxxed by the Attorney General’s office which has leaked permit holders’ full names, home addresses, dates of birth, types of permits issued, dates permit were issued, and whether the permit holder is a member of law enforcement or a judge.

COVID-19: [17:54] – Dr. John Campbell reviews a new report showing that virtually 100% of all young people in the UK have ‘rona antibodies. It’s sad that he is puzzled about why his government isn’t reviewing its vaxxx policies. I wonder when he’ll catch on.

In late 2018, Joe called Hunter to discuss a New York Times article about Hunter’s business dealings with a Chinese oil tycoon who had been accused of economic crimes. In the voice message, Joe said the article “was good. I think you’re clear.”

J6: A key witness has accused the Dem/RINO Kangaroo Court of flat out lying about what he said in their recorded-behind-closed-doors depositions. He has challenged the committee to release the full transcript of his testimony.

Another witness has claimed Trump asked Secret Service to let people with guns in. Trump says, “I didn’t want or request that we make room for people with guns to watch my speech. Who would ever want that? Not me! Besides, there were no guns found or brought into the Capitol Building…So where were all of these guns? But sadly, a gun was used on Ashli Babbitt, with no price to pay against the person who used it!”

LOUISIANA: An Orleans Parish Civil District Court judge has issued a temporary injunction order on the state’s abortion “trigger” law. Consequently, Louisiana abortuaries will be allowed to continue killing until July 8 and possibly beyond. Methinks that judge is going to have to answer to God for every single baby who would have lived if she had not done this.

MIDTERMS: According to a recent analysis, at least 1 million voters across 43 states have switched to the Republican Party in the past year.

NEW YORK: In December 2021, New York City created a law allowing foreign nationals who legally reside and work in the city to register to vote at the municipal level. The law doesn’t apply to state or federal elections. The measure effectively created more than 800,000 new voters. On Monday, a state Supreme Court judge ruled the law unconstitutional.

RELIGION: The Democrat Catholics I know are more dogmatic about their political beliefs than they are about Church teaching.

WEST VIRGINIA: On Sunday, a historic Catholic church burned to the ground. The church, known as “The Little Catholic Church on Irish Mountain,” dates back to the late 1800s and was on the National Register of Historic Places. Arson is suspected.
