For 19 years, no Jew could go there. The Israelis got it back in the Six-Day War. Now it’s declared that this is not Jewish territory. Remember, it’s called “the Jewish quarter,” but it belongs to other people. And any Jew who lives there is an outlaw. That’s exactly what we supported. The resolution is explicit in saying settlements in the occupied territories and in east Jerusalem.
In 2012, running for re-election, Obama spoke at the meeting of AIPAC, the big Jewish lobby. He said, “Is there any doubt that I have Israel’s back?” That’s why he didn’t want do it while he was in office. That’s why he didn’t want to do it in 2016 so it would injure Hillary and show to particularly American Jews, who tend to be Democratic, that it was all a farce. He does it on the way out, and that’s part of why it’s so disgraceful. He didn’t even — he hid it until there would be no consequence. Now he is out the door and the damage is done for years. That resolution cannot be undone.

Kickin’ It with the Kids
We had Miss Isabel and Miss Olivia as overnight guests. Grandma took them to WalMart yesterday, then they helped her prepare supper. Today we’re taking them to Aldi’s to pick up the last of the fresh things we need for dinner Sunday. Miss Isabel wants to be a chef, so we watched Chopped Junior and Cooks Vs. Cons on Food Network last night. Today we’re going to watch Disney’s Christmas Carol and my favorite version of it, the 1951 version with Alistair Sim. They’ve been trying to sneak a peek under the tree, but every kid does that. These little ones are what make life worthwhile.

Just to Let You Know
As some of you may be aware, your intrepid reporter has been battery-operated since 3/2013 when a pacemaker was installed to keep the ‘ol ticker ticking. Lately I’ve been suffering occasional bouts of intense pain, like electric shocks in my chest. After consulting with my cardiologist today it was decided I needed another angiogram to make sure there wasn’t a problem with the bypasses I had in 2005. It’s scheduled for Tuesday. If a stent is needed I’ll have to stay overnight. There is a possibility my Thanksgiving meal will come from the hospital cafeteria. It is what it is.
I’ve seen the Cubs win a World Series and a republican get elected president. There’s not much left to look forward to. When you spend most of your life abusing your body with cigarettes and junk food there’s a price to be paid. This is just another installment.

Eight missionaries in another village were beheaded after they refused to convert to Islam. Two of the missionaries were women, 29 and 33 years old, who were publicly raped and beaten by militants. Throughout their abuse, the women continuously prayed. After they were beheaded, their bodies were hung on crosses.
As it was in the first centuries of persecution, so it is now. The blood of martyrs waters the seeds of conversion. A ministry director in Syria says, “In the past we used to pray to have one person from a Muslim background come to the Lord. Now, there are so many we can barely handle all the work among them.”

You know that commercial on TV that says: If you have an erection lasting more than 4 hours consult a doctor? If you have a slight smile on your face that’s lasted almost a week, should you seek medical help? Not really. Just look at all the paid protesters and the little snowflakes who need coloring books and Play-Doh to cope with the fact they didn’t get their own way. That’s what decades of parental indulgence, never punishing kids, telling them everything is someone else’s fault and everybody gets a trophy, so nobody has hurt feelings because they lost.

So the media did its job. It gave Trump millions of dollars in free publicity when there was a contest in the primary. We’ve seen this all too often. Media gives the republican they want as an opponent hugs and kisses until it’s time to turn on them and show where their true loyalties lie. McCain was so delusional he thought the presstitutes really liked him. That was only when he was trashing other republicans… which was often. Trump has drawn a lot of pissed-off patriots to his rallies with his fiery rhetoric and seemingly anti-establishment positions.
I remain firm in my belief that he first ran on a whim and people took him seriously. He says all the right things but offers no concrete plans to do anything about the economy, immigration, or the trampling of our rights. He’s acting like rallies are going to see him through to the end. He sounds tough, but he’s facing a Clinton Machine that attacks with a savagery he’s never encountered before. They’re professionals and they have a lot of experience fighting dirty, with the full support of the media who carry their water.

The landlord is replacing the kitchen floor today. The only exit from our apartment is through the kitchen, so I have a cooler with some food and drink. I can’t leave the mancave, so here we are. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee voted to approve a resolution designed to censure IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. The Committee announced the vote and the reasons behind it in a press release:
The Resolution expresses the sense of the House that Mr. Koskinen engaged in a pattern of conduct inconsistent with the trust and confidence placed in him as an Officer of the United States, urges Mr. Koskinen’s resignation or removal, and requires forfeiture of his government pension and any other federal benefits for which he is eligible.
Chairman Jason Chaffetz tells The Hill that this is the first step toward impeachment, but this sense of the House vote does not require any follow up from the Senate:

Why Are There Still Palestinian Refugees?
When Israel was established in 1948, there were only 806,000 residents. The current population is around 8 and a half MILLION: Jews (74.9%); Arabs (20.7%); Non-Arab Christians, Baha’i, etc. (4.4%).
Hundreds of thousands of the Jews who migrated to Israel did so as penniless refugees from hostile Arab Muslim nations. They assimilated and are never considered refugees.
Yet the Arab Muslims who fled Israel (without needing to do so) are now in their 3rd generation and are still considered a pitiful group of refugees in dire need of mega-bucks in aid.
Why haven’t they moved on and made new homes and lives for themselves? In part, because the Muslim nations refuse to allow them to emigrate. These nations have a vested interest in keeping these so-called Palestinians sitting right next to Israel, whining and bombing.
