WWHD?… What Would Hillary Do?

Every day I thank Almighty God that we have Donald Trump as our president and not that greedy, lying, corrupt hag with a heart as black as night. Every day the attacks on our president begin anew. It would break a lesser man, but the establishment has never had to deal with anybody like Trump. They beat on him mercilessly over the relief efforts in Puerto Rico and the Gulf. He doesn’t do things to be liked… he does them because it’s the right thing to do.

President Trump’s inaugural committee will give $3 million to hurricane relief
According to the Times, the private committee raised $107 million for the inauguration. It’s unclear how much money the committee still has.
“The surplus of these privately donated funds will be put to great substantive use for relief victims throughout the heartbreaking regions of America impacted by the recent catastrophic disaster,” committee chairman Thomas Barrack Jr. told the Times

More Evidence Facebook Is Targeting Conservative News Outlets
THEY HAVE AN ARMY OF BEDWETTING THUMB SUCKERS JUST LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO BE OFFENDED BY. APPARENTLY I FOUND OUT UNINTENTIONALLY.
Conservatives shunned traditional media for online news outlets in 2016.
A Columbia Journalism Review study in March found that The Drudge Report, Breitbart, FOX News, The Hill and The Gateway Pundit were the most prominent conservative news outlets during the 2016 election.

Hillary Clinton’s Lawyer Helped Facebook Avoid Political Ad Disclosures
GEE, THERE’S A SURPRISE
Elias and the team argued that because the ads were so small that such a disclosure would be impractical, CNN reports. The Federal Election Commission, which consists of three Democrats and three Republicans, split 3-3 on their vote of allowing Facebook to forego the disclaimers.
However, the split vote allowed savvy lawyers to work around the request since the FEC did not issue an opinion. Facebook went ahead and allowed political advertisements on its site without disclosures following the commission’s gridlock.

Democrats’ best hope for 2020: Oprah
OH, PLEASE
If you need to set a thief to catch a thief, you need a star — a grand, outsized, fearless star whom Trump can neither intimidate nor outshine — to catch a star. We’re through the looking glass here. ANOTHER HUGE REASON TO BE GRATEFUL FOR TRUMP
Texas Supreme Court Justice Don Willett:

It’s time for Mitch McConnell to go
Make no mistake, Tuesday’s Republican Senate primary in Alabama centered on McConnell’s failures. Stephen Bannon, on television before Roy Moore’s victory, declared McConnell guilty of “economic hate crimes” against the middle class. There is delightful timing in Moore winning his primary battle against the McConnell-funded Sen. Luther Strange on the very day that McConnell surrendered in the health-care fight.

Kamala Harris gets potentially huge boost due to change in Democrats’ presidential primary schedule
THIS DISGUSTING PIG PRETENDS TO BE BLACK WHEN SHE’S EAST INDIAN.
Presidential contenders will now need to invest time and money into vying for California’s hundreds of delegates. Running campaigns in California is a costly proposition because the vast state encompasses several major media markets, which requires multiple ad buys.
The move could also buoy Ms Harris, a first-term Democrat whose potential presidential aspirations have fueled rumors since shortly after she took office. Having served two terms as the state’s attorney general, Ms Harris would have the advantage of name recognition and an existing donor network.

Showdown in Alabama

It’s David vs. Goliath; the republican establishment has pumped $30 million into the primary race between corrupt, crooked-as-a-dog’s-hind-leg Luther Strange, and Judge Roy Moore, who lost his job for standing up for his faith and refusing to remove the Ten Commandments from his courtroom. It has come down to a contest between Steve Bannon and Donald Trump who, inexplicably, has backed McConnell’s choice, Strange. Time will tell.

Roy Moore Maintains Lead in Polls Despite Trump Rally for Opponent Luther Strange
The data analytics group Optimus, which conducted a poll on Friday and Saturday, has Moore at 55.4 percent versus Strange at 44.6 percent. An Emerson College Polling Society survey found its results to be similar, with Moore at 50 percent versus Strange at 40 percent.

Judge Roy Moore delivered his closing message to voters in Alabama at a raucous barn rally packed with supporters.
“If they can’t beat me with $30 million and we only had about $1.5 … If they can’t beat me, then there’s a crack in the dam, the whole thing falls,” he said as the crowd applauded.

Whoa: Roy Moore 57, Luther Strange 41 in new Alabama GOP Senate poll
My guess was that Moore will win tomorrow night by eight points despite the fact that he’s led by more in various polls of the Alabama runoff. If Trafalgar’s right, the actual margin will be double that. It’ll be a blowout and an embarrassing rebuke to Trump, who not only couldn’t get his guy over the finish line after a rally in Huntsville but couldn’t get him within 15 points of victory.

He hardly even knows him. He’ll be fighting Mitch.”

The Art of the (Backstabbing) Deal

Donald Trump is a businessman, not a politician. That fact, as much as perhaps any other, is why he bested 16 other primary foes and stunned the nation by besting the heir apparent, a sociopathic liar who never met a dollar she didn’t covet. Make no mistake, he is a far, far better alternative to the evil Cankles was prepared to wreak. Still and all, Trump’s forte is making deals. The republicans gave him nothing. He did away with a lot of onerous regulations and the climate change scheme through executive order, but was so eager to appear presidential he’d have signed any legislation they sent him.

They gave him nothing. No border wall funding, no tax cuts, not even the so-called ‘skinny repeal’ of Obamacare. Whether out of spite or cowardice, they have fought him on almost anything. So, Trump decided if they won’t deal with him, the democrats will. And they did. Democrats had absolutely no power to stop anything, and Trump handed them the power to attach amendment to any legislation while denying anything to republicans. DACA will be the first amendment rider with making Obamacare permanent close behind. The dems now have the best of both worlds… they get to have their own way and trash Trump like they always do. Witness the savagery displayed after Sessions announced the ending of the DREAM act, only to have Trump gave Congress 6 months to fondle each other after which he will “revisit” it.

Unforgivable: Donald Trump just made Chuck Schumer POTUS
The president’s total capitulation occurred in a Wednesday meeting with congressional leaders from both parties. Earlier, Minority Leaders Pelosi and Schumer proposed a plan to tie Hurricane Harvey relief to a short-term debt ceiling increase until mid-December. President Trump agreed to support the Democratic plan. To make matters even worse, the president said Wednesday that his administration will always “automatically” agree on increasing the debt ceiling.

Trump’s Deal with Democrats Is a Warning to Republicans — Establishment and Conservative Alike
The deal is a warning to Republicans — primarily to the party establishment, which has fought Trump at every turn, but also to conservative Republicans, who have long worried about Trump shifting leftwards.
By working with Democrats, Trump can bypass the Republican leadership, GOP moderates, and personal foes like Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). However, it also means that he can cobble deals together between liberal Republicans and the Democrat minority, leaving conservatives out in the cold.

Special Election Day

There are actually TWO special elections today… One you probably know about, one you probably don’t.
In Alabama, it’s a barn burner of a primary in the race to replace Jeff Sessions in the U.S. Senate.
McConnell’s handpicked boy Luther Strange, Judge Roy Moore, and Mo Brooks, who was Cruz’ campaign manager during last year’s presidential primary. Most of the quotes from Strange attacking him came during that period when he criticized Trump. If no candidate gets more than 50% of the vote, there will be a runoff in October. For reasons known only to himself, Trump is said to be backing Strange, probably at the behest of the sniveling, backstabbing Senate majority leader, as he tries to solidify his elitist cabal.
The Battle of Alabama: Mitch McConnell Influence Test Comes Up Tuesday

The question as to whether Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell will maintain a rock solid grip on power over his Senate GOP conference for years to come will face voters in a deep red state in Alabama on Tuesday, as the McConnell-backed appointment-created incumbent Sen. Luther Strange (R-AL) faces the serious possibility of losing his election before he even gets to a runoff.
It is worth noting that despite all his bluster about being pro-Trump, Strange and his campaign refused to appear on Breitbart News Saturday this weekend. He is refusing to appear in front of Trump-supporting audiences everywhere and has not been willing to publicly back the president and his agenda when it comes down to whether someone supports McConnell or supports Trump.

Alabama U.S. Senate GOP Primary Preview–What to Watch For

Moore has been a fixture in Alabama politics through the last three decades. He comes out of Etowah County, where he originally made a name for himself in the 1990s as a circuit court judge. At the time, he made waves by hanging a wooden plaque displaying the Ten Commandments behind his bench.
That display drew the ire of the American Civil Liberties Union, which filed suit in 1995. The ensuing controversy sealed Moore’s status as a national figure.
The attention Moore received from that suit catapulted him to win an election for chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.

Moore and Brooks have both been the targets of an attack ad campaign by the Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC controlled by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and which has been decidedly pro-Luther Strange.
The ads have focused on comments Brooks made while supporting Trump’s opponent Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in last year’s GOP primary.

In recent days, the Senate Leadership Fund has also started targeting Roy Moore. One of their ads, titled “More for Moore,” suggests that Moore and his wife financially benefited from his Foundation for Moral Law, an organization Moore was a part of after being removed from the Alabama Supreme Court in 2003.

INFORMATION FROM BALLOTPEDIA:
United States Senate special election in Alabama, 2017
August 15 Democratic primary
August 15 Republican primary
September 26 Democratic primary runoff
September 26 Republican primary runoff
DEMOCRATS RUNNING IN THE PRIMARY — KIND OF LIKE REPUBLICANS IN CALIFORNIA OR ILLINOIS:
Will Boyd – Minister
Vann Caldwell – Talladega County constable
Jason Fisher – Vice president of marketing firm
Michael Hansen – Nonprofit executive
Doug Jones – Former U.S. attorney
Robert Kennedy Jr. – Vice president of marketing firm
Nana Tchienkou – Business consultant

No, not THAT Robert Kennedy Jr., this one:

The primary getting far less attention is the one to replace useless slug Jason Chaffetz in Utah, another deep red state.
Race Tightens for Chaffetz’s House Seat a Day Before Primary

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) shocked the country last year when he said he planned to step down from his seat. Now those in his GOP-dominated district will hit the polls on Tuesday to determine the GOP candidate for the special election, who will probably have no problem winning next November.

Who will win tomorrow? The GOP establishment has backed a candidate “with a Democratic past” while two other candidates have received backing “from national GOP heavy-hitters.” Massive money donations from outside super PACs have also helped narrow the lead from the establishment pick.
John Curtis, the Provo mayor who has drawn support from the GOP’s more moderate flank, is the only candidate who didn’t vote for Trump, saying he had significant moral concerns about supporting the billionaire businessman.

Tanner Ainge, the son of Boston Celtics president Danny Ainge endorsed by Sarah Palin, said he voted for Trump because he always votes for the Republican candidate in presidential elections.

Chris Herrod, a former state lawmaker backed by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, is the most vocal supporter of Trump. He said he did not think it was necessary for a special prosecutor to be appointed to look into possible ties between the president’s campaign and Russia.

Turn Your Attention to Ring #2, Please

Yesterday may be most aptly described as a three ring circus.

Ring #1 had the Democrat hissy fit failing to stop the confirmation of Betsy DeVos as Education Secretary.  Undeterred, they continued to stomp their feet and act less like the most deliberative body in the nation and more like kindergartners desperately in need of a nap. Today they aim their anger at AG nominee Jeff Sessions. Dizzy Lizzy Warren made such an ass of herself she’s not allowed to speak at all today.

Ring #2 had three liberal hacks in black robes assuming to dictate immigration policy and decide if the president should be tasked with what kind of freeloaders are allowed into the country or will they? The questions ran far afield as they grilled government representatives when they shouldn’t even be hearing the case.

Ring #3 was what CNN termed as a debate on Obamacare between Senator Ted Cruz and Bernie “the brain” Sanders. It wasn’t much of a contest as Cruz had his facts in order and poor Bernie had 3 weak talking points. It was 90 minutes of an old socialist taking a beat-down.

Warren reads Coretta Scott King letter opposing Sessions from outside Senate

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on the Senate floor Tuesday that Warren had violated the upper chamber’s rules as she delivered a harsh speech opposing the nomination of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) for attorney general.

“Tonight I wanted to read that letter, and Sen. Mitch McConnell and Republicans came to the floor to shut me down for reading that letter,” Warren said in a Facebook Live video late Tuesday night. “So right now what I’d like to do outside the Senate, I just want to read the letter.”

Senator Elizabeth Warren Is Told To Take HER SEAT For Inappropriate Language

Elizabeth Warren formally silenced during Senate debate on Jeff Sessions nomination

“I will not be silent while the Republicans rubber stamp an AG who will never stand up to the @POTUS when he breaks the law.”

Speaking on the Senate floor, Warren quoted from 30-year-old correspondence from Coretta Scott King relating to Sessions’ failed judicial nomination in the 1980s. It was part of a barnstorming speech by the Massachusetts Senator against Sessions’ suitability for the post and attacking his record on civil rights.

Mitch McConnell, the Republican majority leader, objected that Warren had broken Senate rules that prohibit one member impugning the conduct of another. Senators then voted 49-43 to uphold a ruling in McConnell’s favour.

Ted Cruz CRUSHES Socialist Bernie Sanders in CNN Obamacare Debate
It was a debate for the ages. Texas Senator Ted Cruz, a constitutional conservative versus Soviet-style socialist Bernie Sanders on CNN Wednesday night over the future of the failed Obamacare debacle.

It was such a bloodbath for Soviet Sanders — so much so that leftist CNN decided not to have a discussion panel after the much-ballyhooed debate event and Twitter decided to downplay by refusing to trend any of the relevant hashtags that normally would go viral.

Sanders refused to address broken Democrat promises, promises that Americans are painfully experiencing today.

As expected, CNN filled the audience with sob stories from people touting Obamacare as the second coming.

Ted Cruz treated them with compassion, grace, and logic in responding to their concerns about the repeal of Obamacare and the replacements being discussed that would not negatively affect their current coverage.

When some in the audience gave specific personal testimonies how their lives were damaged by Obamacare, heartless socialist Sanders treated them like the number they would be under socialized medicine, often turning to his Marxist talking points to bail him out when he had no logical answer to the failed Democrat Party disaster.

This Is Already Tiresome

Tucker Carlson was interviewing some blow-dried Ken-doll wannabe congresspunk from California last night and this clown would not stray from his talking points no matter what Carlson asked him. Thankfully, the network panned to a shot of the daily protests outside the Supreme Court.

I may be the only person in America who noticed some idiot holding a pre-printed sign that had the word “OPPOSE” at the top with a blank white space underneath it. After Trump made his nomination known, they printed “GORSUCH” in the blank space with a Sharpie. They were prepared to protest whoever the president picked, even if it was the Wizard of Oz.

As with their shameless behavior regarding the Cabinet nominees, they are going to fight this appointment tooth and nail. In the end they will likely lose, although it is a case of one originalist replacing another. The all-out war will occur if one of the leftists, probably the Notorious RBG retires from the bench. She has already stated she’s not going anywhere until there is a Democrat president to replace her.

Think: The Dems wheeling the late and unlamented Robert C. Byrd on a hospital gurney for an important vote, or Tim Johnson who suffered a brain aneurism and was absent for almost two years and never replaced, since he represented North Dakota, which would have elected a Republican in his stead.

They’re playing a dangerous and potentially disastrous game. Tingles Matthews claimed that not a single Democrat senator will vote to confirm. I disagree. There are 12 senators from red states up for re-election in 2018. The playbook says there will be 5 or 6 democrats who will be given permission to confirm as long as there are not the requisite 60 votes to uphold the filibuster. They all sing from the same hymnal: ‘Lord, save my ass.’

[CtH: I am still puzzling over why RBG didn’t retire when Obama was in office.  She’s older than dirt and is unlikely to survive the 8 years Trump could be in office.  Probably she, like the rest of the Ds, thought Hillary was a shoe-in.  Oops!  Cuz replacing Scalia with Gorsuch is no biggie.  Replacing Ginsburg with someone the Republicans like will tip the bench back toward traditional values and put Roe v. Wade seriously at risk.  We can pray!]

Chris Matthews: Gorsuch Vote Will Go To A Filibuster; Democrats Will Not Vote For Him, “Not A One”

“I think this is going to come down to a sad denouement,” Matthews said Tuesday night. “I think it’s going to take 60 votes to get this approved and I think the Republicans will have their rank-and-file 52 votes will be there. But I don’t think the Democrats are going to give them a single vote which mean this will go to a filibuster.”

[CtH: Why is Tingles still talking?]

Chris Matthews on Democrats who vote for Gorsuch:  He will “be on that court for 30 years … they will have to answer for this guy.”

And since, according to Matthews, no Dems will vote to confirm, the nomination will fall short of the required 60 votes.

This Insurrectionist disagrees. No matter how much McConnell reveres Senate tradition, he will not let such a qualified jurist, and Trump’s first Court nominee, go down to ignominious defeat. If push comes to shove, I predict that McConnell will invoke the nuclear option, and Gorsuch will be confirmed on a simple-majority vote.

IOW, THE DEMOCRATS MUST CHOOSE WHAT HILL THEY WANT TO DIE ON

Here’s Why It Would Be Very Stupid for Dems to Block Neil Gorsuch
Since January 20, many Americans have been daydreaming about the possibility of rebuilding the government from the ground up, like an episode of Designated Survivor. But as fun as it would be to watch Democrats tantrum their way into blocking Judge Neil Gorsuch‘s Supreme Court nomination, it’s a bad idea and would follow in the Republicans’ dangerous precedent.

Dems to Filibuster SCOTUS Pick, Claim Seat ‘Stolen’: “We will use every lever in our power to stop this.”
Senator Merkley declared the seat could go to none of Trump’s picks because it was “stolen,” presumably by the Russians.

“This is a stolen seat. This is the first time a Senate majority has stolen a seat,” Merkley said in an interview. “We will use every lever in our power to stop this.”

Neil Gorsuch: Conservatives Praise Trump’s ‘Home Run’ Supreme Court Pick

GORSUCH MEETS WITH SCALIA’S WIDOW AND HIS SON

Conservatives were effusive in their praise on Tuesday evening for President Donald Trump’s choice for the U.S. Supreme Court, Neil Gorsuch.

Protesters Arrested In NYC Demonstration Against Trump Supreme Court Pick
WONDER HOW LONG BEFORE THEY DECLARE THIS AGGRIEVED VICTIM WILL BE LABELED A ‘CIVIL RIGHTS ICON’?

[CtH: Where do they get these people who have TIME to go to all these protests?!]

Among those arrested was Gwen Carr, the mother of Eric Garner – the man who died on July 2014 on Staten Island as police tried to arrest him for selling loose, untaxed cigarettes. A grand jury later declined to indict NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo, who used a takedown move on Garner that many have described as a chokehold.

THIS WAS FROM YESTERDAY:
Once Again, Dems Deny Vote on Sessions… Where is GOP Leadership?
The Senate Judiciary Committee, once again, delayed voting Tuesday morning on the nomination of Sen. Jeff Sessions for attorney general, pushing it back to Wednesday.

Therefore, the people of the United States remain without the proper attorney general, causing confusion and misdirection in the branch of government that ultimately provides safety and security to the American way of life.

BREAKING NEWS! PETE BRINGS YOU THE LATEST. THIS IS GREAT!!!

GOP changes Senate rules, approves Trump cabinet picks
A Democratic boycott couldn’t prevent President Trump’s cabinet picks for Treasury and health from gaining approval by the Senate Finance Committee.

The Republican-led committee changed its rules to allow it to operate without the boycotting Democrats and approve Steve Mnuchin for the Treasury post and Tom Price as Health and Human Services secretary.

The next step will be for the pair to be confirmed by the entire Senate.

THE REPUBLICANS MAY HAVE FINALLY GROWN A PAIR!

Let the Games Begin

The Senate confirmation hearings start this week. Six are scheduled for today. The Senate democrats will act like ravening hyenas tearing at the flesh of a dead wildebeest. The most notable will be that of Sen. Jeff Sessions, a good and moral man that these wolves have known and worked with for 20 years. That matters little. They have to put on a show for the still-angry and fuming mobs. After the name-calling, baseless allegations, and sideshow theatrics, he’ll be confirmed as Attorney General, thanks to the ham-handed bullying of the almost-departed Harry ‘the slimy toad’ Reid. When he arbitrarily changed the rules from a 60-vote threshold for judges to a simple majority he must have thought the dems would maintain a majority in perpetuity. His short-sighted gamble will cost them dearly.

Jeff Sessions shunned, slandered by longtime Senate Democrat collaborators
sessions
Senate Democrats are poised to throw away 20 years of friendship and a bipartisan working relationship with Sen. Jeff Sessions to wreak political vengeance on him this week as they consider his nomination for attorney general.

Highlighting the deep partisan divide and the bad blood between Democratic lawmakers and President-elect Donald Trump, the same senators who have socialized and co-authored reams of legislation with Mr. Sessions are under pressure from liberal interest groups to air accusations that he is a racist, a sexist and a homophobe.

Senate readies for blizzard of confirmation battles
Democrats are focusing their attacks on eight nominees, three of whom come to Capitol Hill this week: Betsy DeVos, Trump’s nominee for Education Secretary; Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), who has been nominated to be Attorney General; and Rex Tillerson, Trump’s choice to be Secretary of State.

Grassley to allow special panel for Sessions witch-hunt
ANOTHER DODDERING OLD D.C. ELITIST WHO’S OUTLIVED HIS USEFULNESS BY ABOUT 20 YEARS.

What this panel will effectively do is give a congressional soapbox, sanctioned by the GOP Judiciary chairman, to conduct a prolonged smear campaign with the intent to paint Sessions as some sort of unrepentant neo-Confederate racist.

McConnell to Dems: ‘Grow Up’ and ‘Get Past’ the Confirmation Stonewalling

What did we do? We confirmed seven Cabinet appointments the day President Obama was sworn in. We didn’t like most of them, either. But he won the election. So all of these little procedural complaints are related to their frustration in having not only lost the White House, but having lost the Senate.

Kickin’ It with the Kids

We had Miss Isabel and Miss Olivia as overnight guests. Grandma took them to WalMart yesterday, then they helped her prepare supper. Today we’re taking them to Aldi’s to pick up the last of the fresh things we need for dinner Sunday. Miss Isabel wants to be a chef, so we watched Chopped Junior and Cooks Vs. Cons on Food Network last night. Today we’re going to watch Disney’s Christmas Carol and my favorite version of it, the 1951 version with Alistair Sim. They’ve been trying to sneak a peek under the tree, but every kid does that. These little ones are what make life worthwhile.

Egypt scuttles UN vote on Israeli settlement after Trump warning
OBAMA WAS GOING TO LET THE CONDEMNATION STAND… TRUMP DROPPED A DIME ON EGYPTIAN PRESIDENT SIS, WHO PULLED THE RESOLUTION. HE KNOWS THE DONALD DON’T PLAY.
Egyptian officials scrapped a plan to proceed with a United Nations Security Council vote condemning the construction of Israeli settlements, following pushback from Israeli officials and President-elect Trump.
Israeli settlement construction drew condemnation from the State Department earlier this year, in addition to the rebukes of more customary critics, raising fears in Israel and among congressional Republicans that President Obama might not veto a resolution on the matter in the waning days of his presidency.

It’s Official… It’s Rex Tillerson

I don’t know much about him, but what I’ve seen so far leads to mixed emotions. As the CEO of the largest corporation in the world, Exxon Mobil, he’s dealt with all the oil-producing countries and has a relationship with Russian strongman Vlad Putin. His confirmation is sure to be a pier 6 brawl, although Trump will get what he wants in the end.

Rex Tillerson, Exxon C.E.O., Chosen as Secretary of State
A statement from Mr. Trump’s transition office early Tuesday brought to an end his public and chaotic deliberations over the nation’s top diplomat — a process that at times veered from rewarding Rudolph W. Giuliani, one of his most loyal supporters, to musing about whether Mitt Romney, one of his most vicious critics, might be forgiven.
Instead, Mr. Trump has decided to risk what looks to be a bruising confirmation fight in the Senate.

Exxon’s Rex Tillerson: 5 Things to Know About Trump’s Likely Secretary of State
Here are five thing about the 64-year-old man who is likely to be America’s top diplomat.
1. Tillerson has close ties with Vladimir Putin.
2. Tillerson spoke against sanctions on Russia.
Speaking about sanctions imposed over Russia’s annexation of Crimea, Tillerson said he generally opposes sanctions as imprecise and ineffective, and added he had discussed his view with U.S. officials, according to The Associated Press.
3. Tillerson supported global emissions-cutting agreement forged in 2015 Paris climate summit.
Tiller acknowledged the threat of climate change and the company he heads endorsed a carbon tax and stated its support for the Paris climate agreement.
4. Tillerson supported the Boy Scouts admitting gay youths.
After the Boy Scouts of America voted to allow openly gay youths to join their troops and earn their merit badges, Eagle Scout Tillerson said at the organization’s national meeting in 2014: “So we’ve made the decision we’re going to change. Now what? No winners or losers. After we make the decision to change, it’s the mission,” according to The Dallas Morning News.
5. TIllerson has contributed to several Republican campaigns.
According to the Federal Election Commission records, Tillerson has given $442,284 as direct contributions since 2003, $72,200 as “joint fundraising contributions” and $5000 to a Super PAC. While he has contributed to George W. Bush, Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell and Jeb Bush, he is not known to have given any money to Trump’s campaign.

Deficit hawks have warned Trump’s proposals would add to debt
THIS IS AS EXPECTED AS IT IS APPALLING. JUST WHERE THE HELL WERE THESE “DEFICIT HAWKS” WHILE OBAMA WAS RUNNING UP 9 TRILLION IN DEBT??
THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THE MACK DADDIES, McCONNELL AND McCAIN AND THEIR LITTLE STOOGE PAUL RYAN RESENT A BILLIONAIRE OUTSIDER CRASHING THEIR LITTLE CLIQUE IN D.C. THEY’RE GOING TO FIGHT HIM EVERY INCH OF THE WAY, PUBLIC GOOD BE DAMNED.
President-elect Donald Trump’s race to enact the biggest tax cuts since the 1980s went under a caution flag Monday as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell warned he considers current levels of U.S. debt “dangerous” and said he wants any tax overhaul to avoid adding to the deficit.

Obama to Trump: Executive Action Is Good for Me, Bad for Thee

“I have not changed Washington the way I wanted to change it,” Obama said in an interview last week with VICE. “And what I worry about in our politics is people getting impatient with the slowness of democracy, and the less effective Congress works, the more likely people are to start giving up on the core values and basic institutions that have helped us to weather a lot of storms.”

Trump packs trade team with veterans of steel wars with China
President-elect Donald Trump is stacking his trade transition team with veterans of the U.S. steel industry’s battles with China, signaling a potentially more aggressive approach to U.S. complaints of unfair Chinese subsidies for its exports and barriers to imports.
Led by Wilbur Ross, a billionaire steel investor and Trump’s nominee for commerce secretary, Dan DiMicco, the former CEO of steelmaker Nucor Corp, and three veteran steel trade lawyers, the team is expected to help shift the U.S. trade focus more heavily toward enforcement actions aimed at bringing down a chronic U.S. trade deficit, Washington trade experts said.

Inauguration blues: Why pop stars won’t play for Trump
Reports from the US suggest Donald Trump is struggling to find A-list stars to perform at his inauguration. We asked the stars of the BBC Music Awards what it would take to get them to play.
When President Barack Obama was inaugurated in 2009, he was serenaded by Beyonce and Aretha Franklin.
During his stay in the White House, he’s had audiences with the likes of Rihanna, James Taylor and Kendrick Lamar.
Donald Trump might not be so lucky.

The electors had sought the right to vote for someone other than Clinton in order to unite behind a consensus Republican other than Trump when the Electoral College convenes on Dec. 19.

Obama on Comedy Central: America ‘by No Means’ Has Overcome ‘Legacies of Slavery, Jim Crow, Colonialism, Racism’
I HAD A RATHER HEATED ARGUMENT WITH MY FRIEND WILLIE TODAY ABOUT AFFIRMATIVE ACTION. HE SWEARS THERE IS NO SUCH THING AND EVERYTHING OBAMA GOT HE ACCOMPLISHED STRICTLY ON HIS OWN MERITS. IT’S A FOOL’S ERRAND TRYING TO REASON WITH SOME PEOPLE.
‘We have, by no means overcome the legacies of slavery and Jim Crow and colonialism and racism’
“You know, my general theory is that, if I was clear in my own mind about who I was, comfortable in my own skin, and had clarity about the way in which race continues to be this powerful factor in so many elements of our lives,” Obama said. “But that it is not the only factor in so many aspects of our lives, that we have, by no means overcome the legacies of slavery and Jim Crow and colonialism and racism, but that the progress we’ve made has been real and extraordinary, if I’m communicating my genuine belief that those who are not subject to racism can sometimes have blind spots or lack of appreciation of what it feels to be on the receiving end of that, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not open to learning and caring about equality and justice and that I can win them over because there is goodness in the majority of people.”
